Khaat arrived early at the first trial that she would preside over as Chief Warlock. She was dressedin the traditional black robes, and was ready for business. She brought the necessary forms and paperwork with her and a magical quill. She took the appropriate seat and began double checking the rules of order and various forms, more as a preparation for her own mind than anything else.
She knew Ne'Os, but she never did fully know or understand the circumstances that had gotten him into trouble in the past. She knew his agenda was to clear his name. She had been in other Wizengamot trials where she knew things had not been dealt with fairly, but as long as she was Chief Warlock, she was going to do her level best to be sure that didn't happen on her watch. If he proved to be innocent, she would support clearing him. If the evidence did not support that, she would not support clearing him. And since he was requesting the re-hearing, she was hoping he had some sort of new evidence and that he was not simply regurgitating old information.
As she sat, preparing for the trial, she secretly wanted to be able to set a few new traditions--one of the being that they would finally allow coffee in the courtroom. She knew she would be a bit more tolerant of the whole business with a large french roast on her courtroom desk. She smiled slightly thinking of how that would curl some hair at the deviation from tradition.
