Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Robert liked the house. It had nothing on the Whitlock Mansion but it had a certain simplistic class that he found completely charming. The inside was interesting as well. It gave a illustration as to what Miseria's parents must have been like. It painted the picture that was her family and evidently her mother didn't worry about her carpets getting dirty which would have been something his mother would have gone on about for hours on end until she finally fell asleep.

He walked over to one of the windows and looked outside. It was peaceful but there was a tension in that cool air that wasn’t unlike anything he’d seen before. Rob sighed and put his bag down. He could see the inn from where they were in the house and he knew it would take ten minutes to get down into the town but it would be worth it in the end - besides during that walk he could smoke.

It was all getting a bit much. The incessant pain from broken skin and sprained bones and the heightened emotions coming from both women had decided to accompany on this journey. As much as he wanted to see Miseria happy again he had a bruised ego and needed time to heal so the best way for him was to spend the evening drowning himself in sweet liquor. He’d wake up the following morning with a pounding headache and acting as per the norm he will spend the morning getting drunk again to sooth the pain. An excellent philosophy.

“I think I’m going to go out.” Robert said thoughtfully. The newly healed wound was really starting to aggravate him now and he could see himself getting quite irritable as time wore on. He knew he could fix it with a cooling charm and some healing salve but he just couldn’t be bothered. He wouldn’t have an excuse to check out the pub. “I’m going to go and look around town I think.”

Khaat could see that the tension from Miseria's unavoidable grief, and perhaps Khaat's own memories were suffocating for Rob. He was dying to get out of the house for awhile. And if he was like her father at all, he was suffering to get a pint at the pub. It made her smile slightly. She knew he might come back with a little too much ale in his system, but there could be worse things. "Okay. Go ahead. I'm going to see what we can find as far as wills and testiments and see if there were plans for Miseria's custody laid out by her parents. Maybe check out where the local magic ministry is. The sooner we can help her tie this up, the sooner we can get her away from all this suffocating pain."

Rob grinned at Khaat and grabbed his trusty leather jacket from his back. He pulled it on top of his newly cleaned and repaired white t-shirt before wandering over to Khaat. He kissed her on the cheek and made a move to leave the room. “I promise I’ll be back to help out.”

Rob ducked out of the room and found the fastest way out of the house. He passed Miseria and yelled his goodbyes before running out of the door. The pub was calling him and he could taste the lager on his lips already. Couple that with a bag of peanuts and some old sailors with a tale to tell and he’d have the best evening he’d had in a long time.

The air outside was colder than in Hogsmeade but that probably had something to do with the tension. Rob made his way quickly into the village and walked into the tavern. The room was probably something out of the scene of an old western but with a modern twist. Men were playing Texas Hold em and someone was playing a piano with the women which would be of good use as the night went on were dancing on the stage in the middle of the room. As intrigued as Robert was he wasn’t in the mood and so instead of snagging one of the women and taking her upstairs to show her what an out-of-towner was capable of he walked over to the bar and slipped onto a stool.

“Don’t like one o’ them, mate?” The barman asked, raising an eyebrow at Rob.
“Not interested. Maybe tomorrow.” Rob shrugged, flipping a coin over to the barman who caught it. “Whatever beer you’ve got, mate.”

The barman nodded and fixed Rob up some ale, something he’d probably indulge in for the rest of the night. Rob sighed and laid his head on the bar, watching as the foam died down in the glass.

Miseria looked at Robert when he passed her. She didn't even know where he wanted to go and actually, she didn't even care. He was old enough to take care of himself. She reached the living room and walked to the window and looked out.

The garden what was green at every spot where she looked were filled with every type of flowers. Roses, daisies, Dianthuses and so on. Her mother's favourite. Then she had to look a little bit away and there it was – something that all of them had loved. Little fountain what was made of stone. Blue glittering water was flowing into the little river what had her father made and by little magic, this water came back into the fountain, although, before it was back, the water made a lot of circles in this beautiful garden.

She knew that from now on, she'll have to take care of those plants by herself. Her mother had teached her how to do all those house jobs in case if she'll go away for few days. Both of them knew that such things wont ever happen. Her mother loved the home where she lived. She didn't want to leave this place. Actually, both of them had dreamt of dying here, not somewhere else.

And her mother's dream came true, however, it wasn't that kind of death she'd wish for. Maybe Death Eaters had used cucio on both of her parents by making them scream in pain. Miseria almost imagined that cold laugh what filled whole house.

“Ah!“ she sighed quietly as her head started aching and making some weird rounds. She was holding all this time her breathe. Sighing again, she turned herself around and went to the kitchen. Probably Khaat and Robert were hungry. She pointed at the chells with her wand and raw materials like meat and other vegetables what could be used for making some food.

Making few other movements with her wand, skillet flew on the oven and then she placed the wand in her pocket. She was too tierd to jump around in the kitchen. She'll just use her telekensis. Sitting down on the chair, she waited a bit and skillet was hot. Then she placed meat there and let the knife cut onion and dropped all on the meat and skillet.

Soon all the kitchen was filled with tasty meat scent. This whole thing took only half an hour for her. On the table were three dishes, one bowl with salat and basket with bread.

Khaat smelled food cooking, and her stomach growled. It had been awhile since she'd eaten, but she couldn't remember when. She wanted to be able to read copies of the wills and spare Miseria from any possible pain if there was, actually, a relative that had been specified that she was perhaps not aware of. "Accio!" Khaat summoned the wills with her wand. They flew to her hand, and she read them. The house and property went, basically, to each other, and then to Miseria in case of both of their deaths. But no guardian or custodian had been specified. Evidently, they had both counted on being around at least until she became of legal age. Khaat returned the wills to their envelopes and magically sent them back to their places so Miseria could find them. At least there wasn't any ugly secret left there for her to be further hurt with.

Khaat left her coat and bag behind in her room and went downstairs to find Miseria in the kitchen, just setting the table for a meal. "It smells good," Khaat smiled gently, "You must be a good cook. What did you fix? Oh, by the way, I think Rob went down to the pub to see what the ale was like here. I wouldn't be worried if he doesn't get back until late. That's okay. We have work to do tonight, don't we?"

Although meat was almost ready, Miseria felt that there was something missing. Looking around, she then opened one door what was the way in cellar. Once she was afraid of this place. It was always dark and cold there, but right now, she didn't even care if there were some big spiders or not. They were now empty space with no meaning sence for her.

She didn't have to search long in there. Potatoes were near the door in little pink bucket. Smirking, she took it and went back up. There she made a knife fly and it peeled them. Looking at all this action, she finally stood up and washed them and then sliced into little pieces.

Taking another skillet, she tipped a bit oil there and waited for minute and then she dropped the potato slices in it and waited. Thanks for her own thoughts and memories, time flew like on wings and then she realized that everything was ready.

She placed fork and knife on the table, each on the both sides of the dishes. Then she reached out her hand and catched pack of juice what flew in the air forwards her. Placing it in the middle of the table, she found the glasses and making a little triangle, she put them next to the juicepack and it was ready.

Miseria didn't have to call Khaat down as she appeared already to be there. She raised her eyebrows and shrugged. “I didn't do anything. Just meat with onion and some potatoes...“ she said and looked at the bowl:“and salat.“

Finally, after a little while, she smiled at Khaat. That was her home and though, no one was here who she loved, she had this feeling that her parents were still watching her and caring about her. “I'm sure that he'll be back,“ she said and the skillet raised in the air and little wooden spoon what has been mixing potatoes filled two dishes. Same she did with the meat what was already cut in pieces. For Miseria and Khaat.
She was hungry, although, she had her hot chocolate in school. Though, she wasn't sure if that is right thing what call “food“. Then she let the skillet fly back and she took her fork and knife:“Well.. Bon Apétit.

"Thank you," Khaat smiled, sitting with her at the table. The food was very, very good, and it made Khaat feel better not to be so hungry. "You are a good cook," she said softly. "Tell me. What are you thinking about? When I was your age, my Uncle Remus was killed by death eaters--just like your parents. There wasn't anybody in the world I was closer to--before or since. I wasn't sure I wanted to go on. It took me a long time to realize I still had people who loved me. When some of the hurt goes away a little bit, you'll see you still have people who love you too. Take your time, though. We'll wait. We're not going anywhere. We'll be right here."

Miseria started eating, fixic her eyes at the food. She didn't even feel the taste, only when she swallowed she felt that something was filling her empty stomach. She took glass and filled it with an apple juice and drank a little before continueing eating again, letting silence fill the kitchen.

When Khaat started to talk, Miseria looked at her and listened her, however, she was still eating. When she finished, half of her dish was empty. “I'm thinking of them,“ she said quietly. That was obvious. “I'm thinking if they are Okay now. Since they are... gone and what they want me to do...“ she looked up and bit her lip.

“My father was this kind of person who would die for revenge if someone would kill his friends or even family. And now... does he want me to do the same? Find those Death Eaters and murder them?“ This question didn't scare her. And Azkaban didn't scare her either. This place, full of dementors who ate all happy memories. But what if she'll conclude and hold one thought – she'll find them all and kill them?

But then again, she wasn't killer. And how could she probably use Avada Kedavra if this spell was working when caster really wanted someone to die. So was with Cruciatus. How much you want your prey to suffer in pain then the spell is stronger with every time. Miseria had no clue how she'd get this strenght.

"No. I'm absolutely positive your mom and dad would not want that for you. I wondered about that with Uncle Remus. He would die trying to get justice for somone's death too, but he was very protective over people he loved. I've been looking at this house and everything in it. It shows me of their love for you. They would never want you to risk your life to seek revenge. They would want you to move forward, as hard as that is. I had to come to that with my uncle's death. And there are still times when I need to remind myself of that when I start to miss him too much. "

Miseria scowled, however, she knew that Khaat was right. Probably her mother and father didn't want her to have the same fate they did. “But... I need to know why did they murder my parents...“ she said. She left her food there and fixed her eyes at Khaat now. Maybe she knew about it? Maybe she could explain her some things that she didn't know yet.
