"It was a vampire that murdered my father in cold blood and I can't forgive vampires for that. I'm sorry but I can't bring myself to become what tore my family to pieces."

"No, you wouldn't," Varod told her. "I was friends with a vamp that didn't attack me until I asked. Ne'os may have killed him, but, remember, your father banned all vampires from his land. Do you think vampires would stand for that abuse?
"Do you really still believe that all vampires should be eradicated?"
His voice was level, but the coldness in his voice seemed to bring in the cold from outside.

"I'm not getting into this discussion with you." she said coldly towards him. "It wasn't abuse. Abuse is these bites all over my body. Abuse is how my father looked when we found him. Abuse is not telling someone they've been exiled from a country because of what they are." She had grown angry and walked off and up the stairs towards the bedrooms. You could hear her slam a door as she entered the master suite in the cabin.

"That was Anti," Varod shouted at her. "It was abuse! It was abuse when I was exiled from a country because of what I am! Why can't you understand that?! Being a vampire is like being a person, only, we're stronger and faster and can hear and see better! The drawback is we have to drink blood! But, guess what? Your government made it so we have to attack people and raid graveyards!"
He banged on the door to the room.
"There are bad vampires, and bad humans, which one are you?"

"Don't talk to me!" she screamed throwing herself on the bed. She couldn't believe he was still trying to fight with her about her father who was still fresh in his grave. She also hadn't been thinking when she had come into the room to lock the door. She laid down her face in the pillows and cried.

Varod sighed.
He opened the door, finding unlocked and seeing her crying on the bed and draped his arm around her.
"Hey, I'm sorry," he whispered into her ear. "You don't understand what I'm saying, do you? Listen, this isn't about your father. This is about the vampire population and all actions against them. This like the Holocaust all over! But this time, they are literally TELLING vampires to attack people!"

"Go away." she said to him turning away from him so he couldn't see her face. "You don't get it. You never will." she said as she wiped her eyes still crying. She sniffled a little bit. "Just go away."

"No," Varod said, simply. "You're the one who doesn't understand and never will. You feel maimed and betrayed because your father was killed. But can you understand WHY he was killed? That is the one thing you don't get."

"By someone who never knew him!" she said sitting up screaming at him. "I understand and have seen far more than you could understand and probably ever will seem to understand. He was murdered by someone who on more than one occasion tried to kill me. And then their wife turned you! You tell me how thats so damn fair?!"

"Tell me how it's fair that people should be reprimanded for what they are." Varod replied, face and voice indifferent. "He thought that your father was a horrible person who took away rights, and he may have been, I do not know. He looked at him as another Hitler. But even Hitler wasn't completely evil. He lost control halfway through. Look at all of this, compare, and remember the fact that leader figures are put in the blame when the government does things. It's a horrible thing, yes, and he may have been Ne'os's view, or he may have been yours. I don't know."
He put his hands on her shoulders and looked into her eyes.
