Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Moonlight Empty Moonlight

Post by Artemis R. Knox Tue Nov 27, 2012 3:00 am

The sun had begun to set and the chilly wind of the night had begun to set in. The young first year known to most in her year as Auralee Arnazino, sat under a tree she had quickly come to love which faced the lake, giving her a clear view of the moon's reflection from the surface of the water. Auralee, tucked her legs under herself and she cradled herself, wrapping her arms around herself. She knew that soon she would have to go back inside and go to sleep.

To bad her sleep wouldn't last long, and Auralee sighed. The Veela girl ran her hand through her long, blonde hair and she played with the tips of her hair. She glanced out at the lake again and let out a shaky sigh.

"I miss you mum."

With tears in her eyes, Auralee whistled a low three note whistle her mum had taught her before she passed away. Tears fell from her eyes and she wiped them away quickly, trying to remind herself that she shouldn't be sad. It was her first year at Hogwarts, her mum would want her to be happy and enjoy it as much as possible.

"You have no idea how much I miss you."

Derry was walking along the Hogwarts' grounds, whistling softly. He often suffered from insomnia and spent a lot of his sleepless nights rambling outside. But Derry was never one who revelled much in sleep: life was too interesting, exciting for sleep!

As he walked by the lake, he noticed the silhouette of a small, blond haired girl. "Hey, how's it going? Lovely night, huh?" he shouted out to her happily. He noticed the tears only after and felt immediately bad for barging in on a private moment. All the same, he asked: "You okay..?" Lines of concern rippled his usually cheerful face.

Derry stayed a distance away, in case she told him to take a hike. But he just couldn't help but see if he could comfort her first. "You want a tissue..?" he asked tentatively, shoving his hand in his pocket to take out a kleenex.

Auralee had placed her head on her knees after she'd pulled her legs up close to her chest and she sighed. She watched the moonlight sparkle in the reflection the water made and she smiled slightly. She missed watching the moon like that with her mum. She couldn't believe that she was gone, and on the same year she was to go to Hogwarts too. It just wasn't right at all.

She was suddenly approached by someone, an older boy, though she wasn't startled by him. She could tell he had been coming, from his whistling a little ways back. She glanced up at him with a blank look on her face and then looked back to the water. "I guess so." she said softly, hiding most of her face within her knees.

"I'm fine." she answered him, wiping her eyes again, certain that he was asking becuase he'd seen the drying tears she had failed to wipe away the first time. He asked if she wanted a tissue and she shook her head. "No, I'm okay." she told him softly, hiding her entire face in her knees now.

Finally it was getting darker out side and Quelyn was starting to feel more confident about going outside and roaming the grounds. Soon everyone would be going inside and retreating to their nice warm beds. The young girl smiled to her self as she stepped out of the door of the castle and headed towards the lake. Though she was sad to see there were people there. One she recognized as a first year from her classes, the other she did not. He looked older and odd. She moved closer to them almost creeping. silently she climbed up in a near by tree hoping they would leave soon.
