IN THE MOONLIGHT ,

He wasn't sure what her reaction would be, but he figured he would give it a go. He wondered where it was that she would be taking him. There was a sliver of excitement surging through his body.

It wasn't long before they actually arrived at the desination she had in mind for them to go. Smiling up at Topher, she wasn't exactly sure of what to make of him having her waist in his arm. She did not pull away, no, because when it came to these type of things she a) never wanted to feel rude and b) forced herself into being naive and believing that it was more to keep her warm than anything else. "Tada!" she let out as they were at the entrance.

"The Quidditch Stadium!" Topher said through a light laugh. It didn't surprise him that this was where she took him. Quidditch meant a lot to Ginerva, he knew, and a lot to him as well. "Do you come here often after hours?" Topher asked. He was more to visiting an abandoned tower at night, a place nearby to think. But this was a nice place as well.

Smiling, it was obvious that he hadn't exactly found it a huge surprise. Whatever- that didn't matter. She was well aware that he knew how much Quiddich meant to her, and how much she loved it too. He was aware of a lot of things she did know he knew, along with some she wasn't aware of him knowing. Moving her head up and down in a nodding motion, he was right with his question of asking whether or not she came here often. "I do." she told him, taking his hand and pulling him foward onto the field, dropping it back down to her side and looking around. She had a tendancy of looking around as she was now at the stars that shined so brightly above. Lying in the middle of the field, she looked up at Topher, hoping he would join her.

Topher was surprised when Gin grabbed his hand. It was the girl of his dreams. When she laid down, he figured that she wanted him to as well. He crouched down next to her, and then proceeded to lay down. "The stars are beautiful tonight." Topher said grinning. "Almost as beautiful as you." he said looking over at her.

Never had Ginevra heard a cheesy line used on herself. Sevearl times she had heard them on her sister when they were children in the muggle world school still, together, and of course a lot here at Hogwarts when guys felt like being nice to the women for a change. Hearing one from Topher made her pause for a second. She smiled after hearing it even more, her facial features warm. It was a sweet thing to say. "Thanks Toph." she meant this toward lying with her, and for the comment. Not blushing, she didn't blush too easily when night time rolled around, or ever.

"Well I only speak the truth." Topher said. And he did truly mean it. To Topher, Ginerva was the most beautiful woman he had ever met, besides his mom. Not only for the good looks, but even more so, for the personality. While laying there, Topher slowly worked his hand towards Gin's, until his pinkie was over hers.

"You know you're pretty beautiful yourself." she retorted, rolling her head to the side so that it was facing him instead of the stars above her. So many nights before she had done this, most alone, some with a different friend next, or near, to her. Having faced the stars with that thought, Ginevra felt a different temperature against her pinky. Automatically she was aware that it was Topher's finger. Not sure what to do, it was hard to really know. Deciding to just act like she didn't notice, her heart wasn't sure what to do. She was in love with another, but she never wanted to hurt Topher. Ever.

"Thank you" Topher said blushing. He didn't progress his hand any further, figured if Gin did want to hold his hand, she would make some sort of gesture. When she looked over at him, he also turned his head sideways. The stars illuminated her face, making her look even more like a Goddess to Topher.

Topher was always different, he had been from the start and never in a bad way. She had loved him as a friend because he was there. His personality was a bonus since he never let her down, could make her laugh whenever and seemed persistant on telling her she was beautiful. Ginevra wasn't exactly knowing of how she looked so being told did feel good, but not in a way that would raise someone's ego. It just gave her a little confidence in the area she wasn't so great in without really being aware that it was gained by just one simple comment from one of her best friends, and oldest for that matter. "So what cha thinking about up in that great mind of yours, Topher Stockley?"

Topher blushed. "Hardly great" Topher said with a chuckle. "just wondering how I guy like me gets to be so lucky to have as great a friend as you." he said. From his first day of meeting her he knew that they would make good friends. But after getting to know her, it surprised him that a gal such as Ginerva Malenki would put up with him,
