Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

A Moonlight Sonata Li9olo10

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

A Moonlight Sonata Empty A Moonlight Sonata

Every Hogwarts student had their own personal sanctuary in and around the castle. Many felt at home in their dorm rooms. Some were soothed by the cool breeze and scenery of the lake. Others found solace in the solitude of the library. For Alexander Kaverin, it happened to be the music room.

Since his second grade Alex would visit the room at least twice a week, in the evening, practicing or simply playing the melodies he wanted to hear. After class today, Alex had taken a nap, and now that it was past ten, he left the dungeons for the fifth floor. There was no point lying around in his dormitory when he couldn't sleep. Alex was a night creature, his routine had always been to sleep during the day and stay awake at night. He still remembered in his first year, when people thought that he might be a vampire. Alex was not reclusive by nature, but there were few who were willing to come with him outside the common room at this time. Usually, it got quite lonely, and sometimes he had even been caught, for he never really bothered to be quiet. But Alex had never ceased the routine for more than a week or two.

Every afternoon after the classes, the music teacher would lock the door, and every night Alex would unlock it with a simple alohomara charm. Another muffliato charm ensured that no one else skulking about after hours would hear him. This time, he unlocked the door with the same ease as always, but forgot to use the muffliato charm that would mute the music for anyone else.

There were many instruments in the music room, but Alex was mainly interested in the piano. His finger's poised, Alex suddenly jumped and looked back as he heard a creak outside the room. It sounded like someone was outside, so Alex waited, watching the door. After a minute, he decided to ignore it and, turning back, he began to play Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.

A Moonlight Sonata Empty Re: A Moonlight Sonata

So much had been happening that she didn't even have time to visit the only place where she could actually be free from the real world. It really wasn't fair, everything that was going on kept her from going away, even if it was only for a little bit. Danielle Mulciber just wanted to get away from it all. Of course hse knew that she would never be able to get away from it forever. But all she asked for, all she needed, was just a couple of hours, it didn't matter when just some time where she could just get away.

Today, she finally got that break she needed. Her parents had sent a Howler for Nathaniel, screaming at him about something that had to do with his fiancee, Amaris D'Eath and Dani had taken the chance that her parent's letter was so preoccupied with Nathaniel that it probably didn't have anything for her, and she went up to the Music Classroom. She had been hoping that it would be empty, but unfortunately she was wrong. With a slight frown, the blonde approached the room that seemed to be filled with Beethoven's music, and she relaxed.

She stepped into the room and found that it was one of her housemates who was in there. She tilted her head to the side and leaned against the wall as she listened to what he played. She careful not to make any noises as he played, and she waited until he finished before she even started to say anything to him.

A Moonlight Sonata Empty Re: A Moonlight Sonata

Alex entered a sort of trance when playing, his hearing much less keen than it would be otherwise. So he didn't hear Danielle entering the room, but continued playing for another minute or so. It was sixth sense that made him look back suddenly when in the middle of the sonata and notice Danielle Mulciber standing at the entrance. Alex was shocked, had he not cast the Muffliato charm? Or had she just been heading for the music room?

Grimacing, he had never been caught here before. Alex reflected on the strangeness of his habit and what she must be thinking but shrugged it off. "Hey Danielle," he greeted, once over the shock. Alex tended to keep to himself, and thus knew very little about Danielle, despite the fact that they were in the same year. Their interactions had been confined to the classes they shared, but he did know that she was not particularly outgoing, which, given his own reclusiveness to anyone who was not a close friend, explained why they barely knew each other. He was also aware of her background. Mulcibers, purebloods, wealthy. That was good. After the initial annoyance towards her for interrupting, Alex found himself quite pleased with the situation. "What are you doing here at this time?"
