Chase laughed and then what she knew would happen. Happened. She fell down straight into the mud. Her skin splattered with mud. Her legs deep in the slippery mud she looked up at him for a moment and then started to laugh. "Oh my!"She said laughing at her own clumsiness. "It seems I've done it again and fell!"She said laughing at herself. She went to get up but slipped again, this time falling on her butt into the mud. "Oh no."She said struggling to get up. "This mud..is crazy!"She said pulling her hands out of the sucking mud and holding it up to reach for Sterling. "Can you help me up?

Sterling offered her his hand and pulled her up out of the mud. He placed his other hand on her shoulder to steady her as she stood. He paused for a moment before releasing her and stepping away nervously, only causing him to slip in the mud himself! He caught himself with his arm and stood back up with shaking legs.

"Sorry," he apologized weakly.

Chase laughed when after he helped her up he fell himself. "It's ok, I'm clumsy."She said laughing and brushing some of the mud off his shoulders now that the rain had already washed them clean. She smiled at him softly her eyes locking his before she spun away, using the mud to keep her spinning in a circle.

Sterling laughed. When their eyes locked and she smiled his stomach boiled again. He felt like a cockroach in the merciful presence of an elegant parakeet... unworthy even of her gaze. She spun away again and he followed suit.

Chase laughed giddily and then gasped as the rain turned into a downpour. A COLD downpour. She looked up at the sky and then shivered and rubbed her arms. "Wow, it got cold."She muttered rubbing her arms and feeling her body start to shake slightly. Oh she was going to have SUCH a cold after this! She just hoped she lived through it, thank Merlin for pepperup potions!

Sterling was suddenly filled with concern for Chase. He tapped her meager clothes with wand and muttered "Impervius!, considered for a second, and then took a butterbeer out of the satchel he was carrying. "There you go." he began. "Do you want to go inside and... er... warm up?" he asked her.

"That would be nice."She said her teeth chattering. It felt better now that her clothes were repelling the water. But her bare skin was sure taking a shock now. She moved and huddled up to him. It sure was cold! She nodded. "It was nice to meet you Sam, Ne'os."She said softly looking at them. "But we must be going inside, it sure is cold."She said her teeth starting to chatter.

Sterling was momentarily shocked when she stepped in so close to him. He hadn't realized how cold he was until the moment she was close enough to offer him warmth. It seemed suddenly dreadfully cold everywhere except where she was. He gestured respectfully to the two vampires and began to walk slowly toward the castle, his bare feet squelching again in the mud.

Chase shivered again and nodded silently to him. "Thanks, you're warm."She said softly looking up at him. She couldn't believe how fast the weather had turned. But now she was freezing, and wet. She was shivering really hard and she was sure it looked like she was about to fall again because she kept slipping on the mud. "Oh, this is hard."She said pushing her way past a particularly muddy spot with mud up to her knees. Luckily the rain was so hard it just washed it right off. Though the rain was also severely cold.

Sterling trudged up to the castle uncomfortably accompanied by Chase. He felt ridiculously cold everywhere, but somehow hot and comfortable where Chase was. He wished he could help her, she seemed to be having considerable trouble. He considered carrying her, but rejected the idea--it would be a bit awkward. Finally they reached the overhand of the castle. She was still shivering in his arms so he didn't release her, although he was about to. "Well, er... do you have to go to Gryffindor tower now?" he asked.
