In need of Answers

"So you don't care about me or your daughter?" she asked looking over at him crying, getting more and more upset as she watched him beat his head against the tree.. "STOP IT!!!!" she screamed sobbing hard on the ground holding her stomach. "I can't take this!!! Who are you anymore?" she asked feeling her stomach tighten a bit and the baby kick. "OW!" she gasped out in pain.

She looked over at him with a tear stricken face, "What do you want me to do?" she asked looking at him. "I got just a hurt. Maybe not physically but mentally I did. I thought you abandoned me!"

Varod wheeled on her, anger in his eyes now. "You THOUGHT is the problem," he growled. "I know what happened was real. It actually happened. Do you have any idea...? They figmitively and mentally tore me in half. There was someone who knew legilimency he showed me you dying, horribly..."

His face fell into sadness again. "Ashling...I'm so sorry... Please calm down and let's get you to lay down..." Shuddering, he collapsed, shivering as he faded in and out of consciousness. "Laying down...sounds really good...Ashling...I can't do it."

Then there was a scream that ripped from his throat. "No! Don't...stop hurting...please..." The flashbacks were horrible, slamming through his mind with the original force.

Ashling got more upset as he growled at her. "What would you have thought if you were me?" she asked looking at him, "No notice, no word from you for weeks. I was getting to where I was going to lose the baby and my brother forced me to come here and sent me away."

She looked at him as he collapsed, unsure as to what to do. "Out here?" she asked and started freaking out that he was screaming, "Whats wrong?" she didn't know what to do and she knew she couldn't help him. She was crying harder now, She wasn't sure if he would ever be stable enough to be around their daughter but she didn't want to tell him that.

Varod slowly stood up and put his arms around her. "C-can we please find somewhere where we can talk?" he whispered into her ear, choking back another sob. "Maybe we can rent a hotel room or something? This house makes me feel...uneasy." He patted her tummy. "So...my little girl. Let's...go. Please?"

Bending down, he rolled her shirt up and kissed her bare stomach. "There there, my two beautiful girls," he said, smiling up at Ash so she'd know he meant her too. "It'll all be okay. I promise."

Reaching up, he kissed his wife gently on the lips. "Baby...I know I'll be okay if I know you'll take me back...?"

Ash nodded her head when he suggested they get a hotel. "What happened to the house?" she asked looking at him. All of their things that they had there. She hadn't even been there since he went missing. She let out a small smile as he kissed her stomach and their daughter kicked his face lightly causing her to laugh. She kissed him back pulling him to her when their lips met. She put her hand on the ground to keep herself steady, knowing he would flip if he fell on her stomach.

"Only if you help me up off the ground." she said with a smile. "Otherwise we'll be stuck here til I have her and that wouldn't be fun at all I don't think." It had been the first time since he had gone that she had truly smiled and she pulled him to her and kissed him again. "Don't leave us ever again ok."

Varod gently lifted her into her arms and carried her away, kissing her back hard, his tongue playing through her mouth. "Well...it's kinda been repossessed. No bills were being paid so... Don't worry, I have a small fortune stashed in my pocket, hidden in a cave, and in my Swiss bank account."

He took her through the woods and into the small town nearby, looking for a good place to stay. "I didn't leave. I was taken, Ashling. There's a big, huge difference." In his mind, he thought about the gorilla wearing a rainbow shirt he'd seen while doped up and was fighting a mixture of revulsion and a very bizarre desire to laugh.

"Since when do you trust banks?" she asked raising an eyebrow. She never once knew him to use them, it was very confusing to her. "I can walk Varod." she said looking at him thinking about how she must weigh a ton now, her mind going back to what he said, repossessed? She thought he owned the house. She was learning things that she thought she should have known before they got married.

"What are we going to do then?" she asked looking at him curiously. "I have less than a month before Alessandra comes and we don't even have a place to live or anything for her. We can't live with my brother. He'd flip his lid!"

Varod kissed her very gently. "I recently put some money in a bank account so we'll have something to fall back on." She picked up on the doubt in her face. "There were no bills at all being paid. No electric, no nothing. And the land wasn't paid off completely yet. If I'd done that we'd have been broke, even with all my money. So I was paying it off in figures. So they repossessed the whole area. The house itself halved our expenses. The land was double that, Ashling. Where do you want to live? I can go on one raid and make enough money to pay for pretty much anywhere."

He smiled at her. "And Alessandra will have the best Wizarding equipment money can buy when she goes to Hogwarts, and she'll never go hungry."

She kissed him back watching his face as he talked. "I don't want to stay there." she replied, "Why didn't you tell me we had all those bills? You made it seem like it was completely paid for, and what do you mean halved our expenses?" she asked raising an eyebrow. "Does that mean we won't be able to afford anything for our baby? Varod, she's coming whether we want to admit it or not and soon too. I have nothing for Alessandra, not even clothes or diapers for her."

She took a deep breath feeling herself getting upset again and feeling the baby starting to move around, hard, causing her to wince. "Varod, we need to find somewhere to stay. I have to lay down and rest and we can talk."

Varod had just taken her into a hotel lobby that was really nice. "The house was but the land needed a few more months. Look, I can afford baby stuff. Only a few galleons for everything we're gonna need. We can go shopping tomorrow." Pulling out a hundred for the one night, he handed it to the lady at the counter who handed him a room key and smiled at him, explaining where the room was up the elevator. He took her over to the elevator. "It was really expensive you know. But we should be fine if I go out tomorrow and the next day on a raid if they're both good ones."

He took her into the room and plopped on the bed. "How's your singing been going?"
