In need of Answers

Ash walked through the small wooded area around her brother's house. She went with him for a bit after Varod went missing, and thanks to him she had spent most of her pregnancy in America with some other family members that she honestly didn't know too well or ever wanted to know. She sighed, putting her hand around her swollen stomach. It would be another month and her child would be here. She wondered what it would be like raising a baby on her own. She had recently come to realize that Varod would probably never be back, if he was even alive anymore and she cried over the past eight months thinking back to the last time she saw him.

Sitting down on a fallen tree, she rubbed her stomach, trying to get the child to calm down, kicking her almost violently, she took a deep breath as she looked up at the sky. The sun was just starting to set but she didn't want to go back just yet. Realizing that if she did she wouldn't be allowed back out until it was morning.

Walking through the forest, Varod sighed. So many happy memories. Obviously, his precious house, and all his belongings, were now gone. He, of course, had plenty of money and weapons that were carefully hidden on his person. His most precious belongings never went far. After his escape from the kidnapping, he had no idea where Ash would be. His love. His wife.

The wind crackle the leaves in the trees, and made his hair swirl around his face, his long, billowing robes flowing around him. Why was he wearing robes? He had nothing else to where. A small fortune would be hidden where he could find, but for now he was wearing this.

Then he tripped into a clearing and stood up, brushing himself off and cursing angrily. Looking up, he saw a large house. He was coming in from the back and started to walk around front.

OOC: I'm assuming your in the front.

Ash looked around before closing her eyes and letting the breeze run through her hair as she lifted her arms, letting the wind wash over her. It was obvious she was now very pregnant and her hand fell to her stomach again as she felt the baby kick. Her mind wasn't on what was around her. She was still figuring everything out. Like what she would do and how she would live. She knew she couldn't live off of her brother's good graces forever and the baby would be here before she even knew it. She let out a sigh as she watched the moon starting to rise in the sky.

Varod looked around. It was really beautiful... Then he saw something that would've made his heart stop...if it still beat, that is. Running forward, he embraced his wife. Anti appeared and gave her a hug too but V looked at him and he disappeared again. "Ashling..." he breathed in her ear, kissing her cheek lightly. "My beautiful wife. I've been looking all over but I had no idea where you would have gone."

He broke away and held her at arms length, looking her over. The only thing that had changed about Varod was the length of his hair, but she...she was so much prettier looking. So amazingly gorgeous he wanted to.. Wait, she was so big around the middle.

"When's our baby due?" he whispered.

Ash looked at him in complete shock thinking she was dreaming for a moment. "Varod?" she asked looking at him. She was angry that he could just appear after being gone for so long. "Why do you care?" she asked. "Its due at the end of June. You knew that before you left me." She was being mean and she knew it. But she had spent the last six months or so trying to get over the fact that he left. She wanted to hold him and kiss him but she didn't want to and him just disappear again, leaving her alone on her own. Her stomach was almost touching him, she had gotten so big and she moved back a little the baby kicking her.

Varod was crestfallen. Tears started to stream down his face. "I was kidnapped," he sobbed, letting go and falling on his knees in front of her. "I'm sorry...It was so terrible...they...they..." He wasn't able to continue. Crumpling to the ground, he sobbed loudly. Anti appeared and knelt next to him, scowling up at Ash as he placed a friendly hand on V's shoulder.

V didn't react at all, instead he just kept crying. "Ashling...I'm so, so sorry...I didn't want to leave...believe me..." A scar was thrown into sharp relief on his face where he'd been clawed open by the werewolves who'd taken wolfsbane. Not once did they bite him, though, because then he'd be able to escape.

Ash lost her cool with Anti, scowling at her, "Don't you dare scowl at me." she snapped at him, "I'm not the one who disappeared and took six months to find my way back to my pregnant wife. How do you think I felt all this time? Anti, you could have gotten away at any point and at least have let me known. Jesus, what do you think that I would be ok with thinking you had just up and left and abandoned me and our baby?! I got sent to America because of all of this!"

She was getting far too upset and the baby was too moving so much that she grabbed her stomach almost in pain from it getting down on the ground until it passed, waiting for an answer from either one of them.

Varod looked up. "They knew about Anti and kept me too doped up to let him out. And all around me were booby traps, even if he did come out." Anti disappeared and Varod stood shakily to his feet. "If you don't want me around then I'll leave you to do whatever you were doing."

He'd bottled it all up again. Wiping tears from his face he looked at her and helped her to her feet, supporting her. "If you don't want me around, then could I at least get some food here?"

His body needed a good meal, even if, technically, he didn't need to eat.

"You act like they keep anything good around here to eat." she said calming down a little but still hurting. She felt like her stomach was doing flips and she could feel the baby being upset, its heart racing just like hers was. "What did it look like I was doing?" she asked curiously. "I mean I'm stuck in this hell hole because of all of this. I didn't have anywhere else to go. And then they sent me off to family in America to stay for a while."

Varod shrugged. "Anything sounds good right about now." His heart was crushed, and no matter what he acted like, he couldn't keep it out of his eyes. "I don't really care. You looked like you were sitting there. But it must be a better sight than me, because you looked happier."

He walked over too a tree and banged his head against it. Repeatedly.

"I killed them all but they're still...hurting me!" he shouted as he banged his head harder, blood seeping out of his forehead. Anti appeared and ripped him away from the tree. "Get a hold of yourself!"
