"Jess, I know this is a waste of my breath, but you know they will be gunning for you tonight, and, as your healer, I have to remind you that you're in no condition to fight. You're a lot better than you were, but you are particularly vulnerable while you're still healing," Khaat said gently to Jess. "And nobody wants to lose you--least of all me. I'd like you to do your best to stay off the frontline tonight. Let some of the rest of us do that. You need to lay back a bit, command, and provide us support if you can. I know that Grimmauld has been important to us, but if we need to pull back, let it fall, Jess. We need to live to fight another day. In the end, its just a house. As long as any of us still breathe, the Order will stand."
Khaat knew that he'd been through about as much as any one person could pass through and still be able to try to run an organization. She wished there had been some way to liberate him sooner, but it had not happened. And now, her concern was in, not only helping the others deal with what was to come, but in making sure that Jess survived this night as well. She had an idea of how Vincent thought, and she felt that he would not take Jess's slipping away well. He would want to finish the task. He would be their number one target for the evening.
