Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Wilson laughed while cutting his food. ''Don't be silly, Narcissa. Why would I feel uneasy? And why should you be embarrassed? I find you all the more charming because of that'', he said and grabbed a bite. Although he did seem natural, as natural as he can be, this was the first time for him to do such a thing. But, he was so rational that it helped him in a variety of situations, including this one.

''My family... well my father is a physician in St. Mungo's, James Wilson, M.D., and my mother, Amber, used to work in the Law Enforcement with professor McCoy. I was, as I have said, born pureblood but I was raised in a Muggle Community, thereby learning to respect both. Some of my best friends a re Muggles. And that would be it, nothing special. I have also mentioned earlier, I am somehow related to Godric Gryffindor, although I truly do not know how. And that is it. No famous relatives, nothing special.'', he said with a smile. ''And I do not have a pet. I like animals, but never thought of getting one myself. I am just to... careless to take care of an animal.'', he added laughing.

Narcissa listened to James in interest. She had heard of both of his parents and despite the fact that she was always short with Healers and incredibly rude to them she always had respect for those who knew what they were doing. The fools that worked at St. Mungo’s could barely deal with those that had escaped from the mental ward let alone anything particularly life threatening. This was probably the man reason why Narcissa used to go to Severus Snape when she was injured or anything of the like. He was reliable and knew exactly what he was doing thankfully.

She envied him in being able to grow up in a Muggle neighbourhood that he was allowed into. She saw exactly what a difference Muggles and more specifically Lily Evans made in Sirius and would often laugh when Walburga screamed bloody murder if he came through the door of Number 12, Grimmauld Place clad in Muggle clothing.

“You are an only child?” Narcissa said before drinking some more water.

She did wonder why she didn’t get a pet but then why should she bother seeing as they only made a mess. However, having a cat or something would be quite interesting. She had always wanted a kitten but it seemed material possessions were far better than a pile of fur that could have been made into a decent pair of gloves.

“I think that having animals is a positive thing for the space one lives in. It shows people just how dependant others can be of you and its refreshing almost, looking after something and watching it grow. It’s wonderful.” Narcissa said wistfully.

''An only child? Yes. My parents never bothered to have another child.'', he said taking another bite. ''With the rate I am eating I will finish this fish when it freezes again'', he said smiling.

''Well, you know... that is what children are for. I like animals, I really do, but I am just to careless to take care of one on my own. I am always in some business, which would leave the poor animal unprotected. And why should I take care of something and then abandon it, pretty cruel. Therefore, better to admire them from afar.'', Wilson said adding another smile. He waited for her next question.

Narcissa smirked and drank some more of her water. Instead of continuing to pick at her food she decided to fully eat now and began to stab some of the seafood and salad with her fork with every intent on finishing her meal.

“When you are denied children, animals are the only things capable of filling the void and making empty hallways seem lively again. I suppose if you were to have an animal it would have to be something quite independent so it could take care of itself.” Narcissa mused, brushing over her first sentence, not wanting to elaborate too much more.

“How about Holidays?” Narcissa asked. “Like during the summer did you go somewhere with your parents?”

''An Owl maybe, a bird is fine with me.'', he commented. ''Holidays? Yes... we have traveled a lot. On the Continent.. France, a lot, I have learned the language there, Germany, Italy and even Turkey and several citied in the United States. After finishing school I have also traveled to Eastern Europe, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia and Romania, with my mentor. It was a brilliant experience. Different cultures, different Muggles and Wizards, since I have met both and a vast knowledge I have managed to collect.'', he said. ''And you, Narcissa, I mean with that wealth of yours you must have seen a lot?'', he asked.

Narcissa laughed and rolled her eyes a little. Money or not they barely ever left Grimmauld Place. She could remember everyone getting their things ready - Sirius albeit begrudgingly but they’d get it done and they’d be stood in the foyer waiting for someone to get their aunt Walburga out of the house.
“Walburga would cling onto the walls of the house.” Narcissa said with a smirk, she picked up her glass of water and smiled to herself. “We’d have everyone in the house ready to go and she’d just cling to something - screaming that she wouldn’t leave. My uncle and father would try to pry her off of whatever piece of furniture or wall she was clinging onto and in the end none of us would go. Usually when that happened Lucretia and Ignatius would give us some money. Sirius would go to James Potter’s house and the rest of us would go somewhere in the United States or Asia.”

''Ah, always interesting in the Black household. It seems that we can now understand Sirius better. You had to be such a great fellow to survive that chaos.'', Wilson commented. ''Have you traveled lately? After your marriage?'', Wilson asked.

Narcissa smiled. “No you could never be bored there. There would always be something going on. Bellatrix having a complete mental breakdown or Walburga screaming at her sons. The only time you could truly be alone is when in your own room and I was unfortunate enough to get a room where I could hear anything and everything. No amount of silencing spells could help either.” Narcissa scowled a little. No one could tell her they’d heard more than her because she’d heard everything that could ever be heard and she honestly wondered why Regulus had a fetish for bring farm animals home. That was the weirdest thing, waking up on a Saturday to hear a cow moo or something like that.
“I haven’t been on a holiday for my own pleasure in a while. No one stays in Malfoy Manor for a long amount of time because either myself or Lucius used to go on a lot of business so I suppose I haven’t really taken time out for myself as of late.”

''That is sad.'', Wilson said. ''I have never allowed business to occupy my free time.'', he added. ''Where would you like to go?'', he asked after a small pause.

“I have always wanted to go to one of the little Greek Islands. I think I inherited a villa on Zakynthos but never went I suppose. Time always seems to be taken up by something. A charity ball or a good bottle of wine and a book. Perhaps I’ve just never thought about getting up and leaving y’know? I think we only stayed in that villa once during my childhood and that was when an owl flew into my bedroom trying to get a gecko that was just above the patio door. It wasn’t even a magical one but it was very beautiful.” Narcissa smiled in remembrance and put her glass of water down.
