"I can't leave." she said looking at him. "I'm supposed to be spending time with my mother." she explained looking at him, "She and I are going shopping for the baby." She was still keeping her cool knowing getting angry would get them no where. "Wow your short fuse really has gotten much worse now that you're a fang face." she said still using those terms towards him. "You did too know I hated vampires. I made no point to hide that fact about me."

"It never came up, and my short fuse is only because of you," Varod growled. "It's because you can't seem to accept me for what I am! You never ever told me you hated vampires!"
He stabbed the sword he still had out into the floor.
"Well, I've got more where that came from, so keep the sword, just to remember me," he said, flinging open the window and starting to climb out. "I'm smart enough to know I'm fighting a losing uphill battle with you."

"You are such an immature child." she said looking at him. "You always have been. I ignored it because I thought I loved you." she continued to say, "And you've just finished giving me the reason why I should make myself hate you. I might have never told you but I figured you'd have been smart enough to pick up on the hints when I was around them but I guess you didn't.

It was never my fault for things that have happened. The fact you think this is a losing battle is because it is. You know as well as I do that we can't be together you are a vampir and I'm mortal, they can't ever be." she said looking at him, "As much as you'd like them to be." She was speaking cold and heartless towards him. But at the same time her voice held far too much emotion in it. Her heart was breaking again as she spoke and she was trying to fight back the tears that were starting to come again.

"Thought huh?" Varod said, chuckling. "You were never one to succumb to normal stuff, were you? I guess you really are just like the rest of them now...of course we can be, you just don't want to try. You didn't think you loved me, you knew it, and you still want us to be together, you just want to stay in the CoL and you'd have to quit if you were with me."
Leaving the window open, he started to climb down.

"No I'm just smart enough to know when to let go." she said as he left. She slid down the wall nearest the window. It killed her to act so heartless towards him, being her first love. But then again she knew deep down in her heart it would never work with a muggle born that was turned into a vampire. She knew it and that was why she had to be heartless towards him. She had to protect him as best as she could from herself and cousin.
