O.W.L prep Class 1

Cosette was listening to the conversation, and taking notes. She wasn't particularly talkative today, as things had been going so poorly. She saw Abbey and Chris enter, and was pleased that she had friends in her classes. Elv, a third year apparently, seemed to know all the answers. She frowned a bit to herself, realizing that Hufflepuff wasn't hardly earning any points. She decided to have her ears open and her hand ready to raise, and maybe she could earn some, too.

"Of course" Jacob replied to Elv's question earlier. "Good on you, we're earning points" Jacob said, encouraging her.

Moldy Goldy looked confusedly at Elv. "Er... no. That's a completely different spell. Allow me to rephrase the question. Can you give me any example of a day to day useful application of either engorgio and/or reducio?" he asked. There were thousands of possible answers, he was willing to offer points for any one of them.

Elv laughed. "Thanks, Jacob... Next turn is yours..." she said happily. Turned her face to Abbey. "See... He's nice..."Elv nodded when she actually missunderstood professor Gold question. Well... She never use that incantation before...

Hafiz raised his hand.

Cosette sighed, but raised her hand anyway. Perhaps he would allow each of them to answer.

Karrit pointed jubilantly at the young Slytherin first, and secondly to the Hufflepuff. He would learn there names eventually... or would he? Was it worth it, to learn student's names for an eternity, only for them to be gone in the blink of an eye?

The brilliant thing about dead teachers was how they never noticed if you were there, if you were gone, or if you were late. Selwyn sauntered into the class and took a seat in the front row, as if to illustrate this point.

As he sat down, he was just in time to hear a question put to the class. Uses for reducio and engorgio. He wondered if Golden Boy would be particularly enthusiastic about the two uses his mind immediately turned to. There was only one way to find out.

"Well, Reducio is great for shrinking people and keeping them in jars. Especially if they're the sort of people who get cool stuff in their care packages and have been holding out on you," he announced.

"And Engorgio is just as useful for those other irritating persons who have nothing of value, since firstly, you can make sure they never get anything of value, and secondly you can stop them irritating you by making them look grotesque. All you have to do is stick a target word like Auris or something in front of the incantation and you can engorge any part of their anatomy you like. Unfortunately, guys, I don't know the Latin for that part. Auris just means ear."

Hafiz cleared his throat ignoring another Slytherin student that had answered. He was sure that the professor pointing at him Well Engorgio, is used to swell up thing. In that case, we can swell up our crops such as pumpkin, cabbage and tomatoes. Reducio on the other hand, is for reducing the size of the object. Incase that you had a swell up by Engorgio charm, this is the counter charm. But we can also use it when our face or teeth is swell up because being beaten or bitten, this charm can reduce swelling part., he smiled to the professor hoping his answer satisfies him.

Karrit gaped at the Slytherin who entered the classroom (although in his mind he had just not been noticed before) "That... quite an interesting list of..." he started, but didn't even bother to finish. His goal wasn't to encourage cruelty so he avoided the topic. As the boy he had called on answered, he smiled. "Couldn't have said it better myself. Take 10 Points. How about storage? You can also use Reducio as simpler means of holding more things at once, rather than th much more complicated charm to increase the space of the bag from the inside." he offered, attempting to offer some additional insight to the already brilliant class. Just as he started the momentum of the class, he glanced up at the clock and realized their hour was up. Swearing softly to himself, he instructed the class to clean up.

"Homework! First thing next class you will have to inflate an apple to the size of a pumpkin. No larger no smaller. Your grade as well as your house depends on it."
