Thinking of You... (Chase and Open)

Sterling swam quickly and touched the bottom, twenty feet down. He looked around for Chase and he didn't see her. He was confused and a little worried. "Chase?" he called, concern in his voice. He swam to the surface and was relieved to see her there. He popped his bubble with a prod with his wand.

"You accept defeat too easily," he said, laughing at her.

"I didn't accept defeat!"She said staring at him a bit annoyed. "I didn't bring my wand out with me today."She said and then splashed him giggling. "So that wasn't fair!"She said laughing and floating on her back. "It sure feels nice in the water doesn't it?"She asked letting the water float over her ears.

Sterling laughed at her. "How come you never have a wand?" he asked, remembering the first time they had met, and he dried her off with a charm, her saying she would have done the same if she had her wand. He splashed her back, giggling. He tapped her head and gave her a bubble head and did the same to himself. "Want to try again?" he asked, amused. "And yes, it does." Sterling said, feeling the rush of water flowing around him.

"Because I never need it!"She said laughing. When he tapped her head with his wand she turned and dove under without a second thought. She pushed down under the water swimming down as fast as she could to reach the bottom that seemed an impossible distance down.

Sterling gasped as she dove down before he was even able to give himself a bubble head. Once he did he chased after Chase. She had a six foot head start, but Sterling didn't care. He pumped his arms as he descended. He was going down fast but he would never catch up to her in time... "Descendio!" he whispered, hoping Chase wouldn't notice him cheating. He rocketed downward, catching up to her and continued swimming down, smiling playfully at her.

Chase looked at him and groaned. She sped up trying to catch up now. "Not fair."She mouthed and grabbed a hold of his foot as he passed her. She could tell that he was going much to fast. Man that boy could swim! She used his foot to push herself forward taking a deep breath before pushing onward, the pressure on her limbs hurting her ears, and giving her a hard time keeping moving. Hovering over the bottom her toes trailing the sandy ground she looked around for Sterling, she floated there, not wanting to move. IT was so beautiful.

Chase's vault using Sterling's foot pushed her to the end right at the end. Sterling sat down at the bottom of the lake. He laughed, but Chase couldn't here him. He pushed his bubble into hers so it looked like a Venn diagram. "Good job!" he said, smiling. "But you cheated pretty bad right there at the end." he said, laughing. The water around them was dark, but shining green with the light of the sun twenty feet above. He had his arm around her shoulders too keep her close enough for them to be in one bubble. Otherwise she would drift away with the lake's current.

Chase laughed. "I think you cheated too though!"She said smiling at him. "You came behind me much to quickly."She pushed her hand up into the bubble and moved her hair out of her face. "It's so beautiful."She whispered looking around at the lake bottom. "I can't believe we're sitting on the bottom of the lake, I wonder if the Giant Squid is down here."She said looking around excitedly.

Sterling looked at her hair, the scent of her perfume carrying even when she was wet. Sterling leaned in and kissed Chase. He was shocked at what he did, he broke their bubble head connection and swam away a little. "I'm so sorry!" he said, but his lips were still tingling from the impact. He knew she couldn't hear him say it... and he knew she probably hated him now. But the lake was just so secluded... so beautiful. It was so romantic and he acted on impulse as he had so often recently.

"No, no, no..." he muttered to himself.

Chase stared at him disbelievingly. She moved her fingers to her mouth touching her lips silently as he moved away mouthing the words she could tell were I'm so sorry. She shook her head but didn't move closer. Her thoughts on him, but also on Jesse. What would he do if he saw her on the bottom of the lake with her ex-boyfriend...while at the same time letting him kiss her. What had she done to provoke it? She couldn't think of one thing. She stared at him for a moment longer before realizing she was drifting away. She made to swim back but something had grabbed her foot. "Sterling!"She yelled out but knew he hadn't heard her, but she disappeared behind a curtain of seaweed.
