Fire in the Classroom (Chase)

Sterling's heart was beating so fast it was fluttering. It didn't have distinguishable beats anymore, more like a constant vibration. Sterling's heart froze when she reacted, putting her own arms around him and placing her lips on his cheek. He slid his own to do the same... both their lips only a millimeter apart. He froze again, holding her tighter, heart still humming in his chest...

Chase stopped when he froze, their lips now so close she could feel them brushing. Then she let her face move forward, so that her lips were locked on his. They started to tingle terribly. And something like an electric shock rang through Chase so that she almost gasped for air. What was that? It scared her slightly. That had never happened when she kissed a guy before. Never. She gripped her hands on his shoulder a bit tighter, her lips locked on his.

Sterling should have been hyperventilating, but couldn't because of the tight embrace and kiss he was in. He was doing it a bit awkwardly... he had never kissed anybody before. He closed his eyes and lost all focus, caught up in the moment. For a moment, Sterling forgot everything he had ever learned. Books seemed obsolete, then he couldn't remember what books were. Nothing mattered but the embrace he was in now...

Chase finally had to come up for air. She moved her head back but didn't move her arms from him. She blinked a few times her breathing slightly ragged. He needed to learn. She smiled slightly and looked at him carefully hoping he wouldn't run away now. That would be just terrible, if he decided to run away! She was to happy right now. Right in his arms, every place they touched was a tingle on Chase. Sure she was happy, but it also scared her, what did this mean?

Sterling's mouth tingled. He suddenly felt lightheaded. He wanted to sit down somewhere, to sleep... yet at the same time he felt sick to his stomach and restless. He recognized these as symptoms of being about to faint. He had never fainted before... and now was the worst possible time for him to start. He drew deep breaths, clutching Chase's back for moral support and stability. His heart vibrated still more vivaciously. It beat so hard it ached. Sterling tightened his hold still further. He now placed his face in her hair again. It was silky smooth, his breath was uneven and choppy. His insides did backflips each in turn, then front flips to correct themselves. Beyond butterflies, his stomach was filled with pixies desperate for escape.

Chase looked concerned all of a sudden. "Hey, are you ok?"She whispered softly. He looked like he was about to faint. She let him lean on her and he held onto her tightly. "Deep breath."She whispered. "It was only a kiss."She said softly her face buried in his shoulder. "Calm down."She said her voice as soothing as she could make it. She was still freaking out because she had never felt like electricity had pounded through her. Her first kiss with any guy had been the same..a kiss. But this one. Was scary. She held onto him tightly. "Do you need to sit down?"She asked carefully.

Sterling continued to breath. He felt better quickly, Chase's soothing words seeming to bore into him, energizing him.

"No." he whispered after a moment's silence. He never wanted this moment to end. He knew it had to eventually, but if he had a choice, they would remain like this eternally. Conscious thought and memories returned to him after they stayed, embraced for several more moments. Words like 'arranged mairraidge' 'parents' and 'mudblood' floated through is mind. But now was not the time to worry about it. He forced the thoughts away and brushed his cheek softly against hers, letting his arms slide slowly off of her...

Chase whimpered unintentionally. She didn't want him to go. She didn't want to leave that embrace. All of her other boyfriends had simply groped for her. Wanting her body, her sparkly personality. But Sterling. She found his cheek with her lips and held on tighter. "Don't go."She whispered burying her face in his shoulder.

Sterling's heart leaped out of his chest. Glad to obey the request he slid both arms up, his elbows on either side of her waist, touching her shoulderblades with the tips of his fingers. He continued embracing her. His breathing steadies, her warmth enveloped him. He started stroking her back unintentionally. "I won't." he whispered firmly.

Chase smiled into his shoulder and closed her eyes. She liked this..she liked this a lot. Of course it could never happen. But for now, she would enjoy it as much as possible. She kissed his neck softly and buried her face back in his shoulder breathing deeply. She could feel his heart slow down now, becoming more comfortable. She smiled slightly and hooked her arms through his around his back hugging him hard.
