Rebel Without a Cause

Christy walked out of the bedroom her hair still wet from her shower. As much as she didn't want him to leave she knew it was for the best. She knew he would not be comfortable here so long as he was a wanted man. She had a feeling he would let his guard down and worried about getting her into trouble for him staying there so she really understood.

"You know you can stay here whenever you wish Felix." she said running her fingers through her hair. "Are you hungry?" she asked curiously. She wondered if he even had money to get food if he couldn't find something there. "I don't think I have much in the way of food but I have some money you could get something while you're gone."

She was stumbling over her words. She actually liked Felix. Well...she was starting to like him. She also liked having a guy around the apartment. She felt slightly safer knowing that there was someone else there with her. "Kinda sucks that you have to go though." she admitted in all honesty.

Felix felt a weird pull at his heart as she came out of the bedroom, clean from a shower of her own. He couldn't help it, she was pulling him in, and she was doing it quickly. He had to get out of her soon for his own good, or he wouldn't want to leave, next thing he'd be asking her to come with him. And he couldn't have that. It was much to dangerous... it'd be another Naomi.

Felix sighed at the look on her face, and then came over to her, wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her lightly on the lips. "I'll come back.." He said slowly, leaning back so he could stare her in the eyes. "I've got some money for food... I'll be okay on my own.. I don't want you to worry though, I've been hiding for years, I'm not new to it." He said with a smile.

"Thank you.. for all your help, and for everything you've done for me... I'll repay you one day okay? If I don't achieve my dreams..." He trailed off for a moment, before looking her over. "I have a plan that might one day get me out of my wanted criminal status.. if that day comes.. then I will come to you in broad daylight. Other then that.. I'll come to you at night.." He said lightly, leaning down to kiss her again.

"This isn't the last you'll see of me.. unless I'm killed, I will come back." He said and moved away from her, he pointed his wand at the bedroom door and his cloak came flying out of it, he attached it firmly at his neck and looked her over. "It was great getting to know you Christy.." He said lightly, leaning forward for one more kiss.

After a moment, he pointed his wand at his face again, and hair grew in along his jaw and speed grew out of his head, slowly returning him to how he had looked the night before. He flicked his hood over his head and looked at Christy with a sad smile. "I'm sorry.."

She looked at him, listening to his words but they still weren't completely registering. She knew he had to leave. She would have been foolish to have thought he could possibly stay...stay like a normal person.. she thought to herself. However nothing about this was normal...mainly because of the fact that he was a criminal on the run. She inwardly laughed at herself for getting caught up in that mess.

She returned his kiss, "At night?" she asked curiously. She knew deep down it would be lucky if she saw him fairly soon afterwards. She wanted to make sure she heard him correct. More than anything she was trying to take in everything that was being said and what was happening.

She gave him one last kiss and watched as he made his hair and beard grow back. "Just remember I offered to help in any way I can." she said smiling sweetly. "Whenever you're ready to let me in."

Felix frowned at her, nodding as she spoke. "Yes... I'll visit you.. but while I'm a criminal, I'll come here only at night... if I get cleared, if I'm free.. if I can. I'll come to you by day." He reached up and gently stroked her cheek, running his thumb along her soft skin. "Christy.. I am terrified of letting anyone in. I am dangerous." He said slowly, before wrapping his arms around her, pulling her to him in an embrace.

"What we've done.. last night and today, is the furthest in anyone has gotten to me in years.." He spoke into her hair, smelling fresh shampoo and cleanness. He closed his eyes and tried to memorize the way it smelt. For when he was cooped up in some horrible smelling place, it would be good to remember something that smelt so fresh.

"I will visit you again.. this isn't the last we've seen of each other, I promise, this wasn't a one-night stand, and you aren't just a notch on my belt." He whispered his arms squeezing slightly, before he let her go. "Thank you Christy..." He suddenly turned away and headed towards the door. Not looking over his shoulder as he pulled the door open and stalked outside. He kept his back to her as he slid out the door and down the road, carefully running his sleeve over his eyes as he tried to hold back tears.

Christy wrapped her arms around him as he pulled her to him. For once in her life she didn't have words to say. She was at a loss as to what to say at that. It was a funny thing not having words to say. Out of all the books she had read and everything she had learned she couldn't come up with anything to make him stay.

She knew he had to go. She bit her lip fighting off tears that seemed to be welling up as he walked out the door. She wasn't sure what to do. Standing there in awkward silence for a few moments she moved to the door of the apartment. She clicked the lock on and turned around towards her bedroom tears sliding down her face.

Leaning against the door she slid down to the floor. Everything going on in her brain again she realized she might actually care for Felix. Tears came flooding at full force and not only did she wish he could have stayed she also wished Godric was around more than anything else to give her a hug and tell her everything was going to be ok...Even if they both knew it wouldn't be.
