Rebel Without a Cause

"I..I don't know." she said looking at him and walking towards the couch. She didn't know what she was alright. All she knew was that she just wanted to feel numb for a while. She wanted her mind to be clear and that clearly wasn't going to happen while she had so many unanswered questions.

"I wish I could tell you." she was no longer sobbing at this point but the tears quitely fell down her face. She picked up a tissue from the box on the coffee table and wiped her eyes. "I mean I have so many questions that will never be answered. To know they wanted me because a girl would be easier to handle than a boy...that's just heartless."

She looked down at her hands and then back up at Felix. "I mean our entire lives we were told we looked and acted just like twins and now..." she broke off looking like she was thinking of the words to say. It wasn't like her to be at a loss of words. Of all the books she had read words were what came easily to her.

"Now...now its just like...We really are twins and one of us wasn't wanted because our parents only wanted one child." she sighed and looked over at the picture of her and Godric hanging on the wall.

Felix nodded slowly as she spoke, before glancing towards the picture she looked at and frowning. She was posed in it with another guy who looked around her age. Felix frowned and then glanced back at Christy. "That him?" He asked before looking down at the letter in his hands, before setting it down carefully. He felt like he was intruding on a very important realization. But he had nothing to do with it. He didn't know how to react to this whole situation.

Really he shouldn't even be there. He felt just.. wrong, and suddenly he realized just how uncovered he was. The towel was hiding him completely, but was still not much covering his pretty hair-less body. "I er.. do you wanna sleep in your bedroom tonight? I can sleep on the couch, it's fine, don't even worry about it okay..?" He reached forward awkwardly and carefully touched her arm. "It'll be okay.." He said carefully, trying to let her know that he was there for her.

"Yeah that's him." she replied looking at the picture of him and her together. There honestly wasn't much of a difference in their appearance other than her wild and curly hair before she learned the importance of taking care of her curls. Godric had always been blessed with fairly straight hair. It was a funny thing like that with twins. They could look almost exactly alike but have subtle differences.

She spaced out for a moment thinking about that trip to the ocean with Godric. It was one of the few 'family' vacations they had taken. It was also the first trip they were allowed to take without parental supervision. She smiled looking at Godric laughing in the picture.

Felix touching her arm snapped her out of it. "Don't even think about me sleeping in that room." she replied. "I don't think I'd sleep much anyway especially in there...too much stuff in there to keep my mind racing." She looked at him and threw her arms around him in a hug. Here was this criminal being nice to her and not really thinking she was hugging him. He was being nice to her when he really had no reason to be.

She looked down noticing him in nothing but a towel and pulled back blushing. "However you might want to put some clothes back on."

Felix was startled when she suddenly hugged him, and he felt his face go bright red. His ears turning the color of beets as he sat there for a moment before awkwardly patting her back and smiling. "Hey.. it's alright.." He said carefully, before he noticed her look down and then pull away, her face red. He felt the redness spread from his ears to his cheeks and he nodded quickly, standing up and gripping the towel before glancing backwards. "I'll be back out.. I couldn't sleep anyway." He said quickly and headed back into the other room.

His old clothes lay on the bed, and he sighed, finding his wand and pointing it at them, watching them ring out and dry, suddenly a lot cleaner then they were. He felt more comfortable doing magic here when his magic could be mistaken with Christy's. He didn't spend much time in magical places, so when he did he felt a lot more comfortable in doing magic. He put on his underwear and pants, and debated his shirt before sighing and shaking his head, walking back into the room with her, shirtless.

"You doing alright?" He asked, sitting down on the couch and flinging one of his arms over the back of it, looking at her with a grin.

Christy was already zoning out as he walked out of the bedroom. She placed the book down and looked up at him. Her face was still slightly red from realizing she had hugged him while he was sitting there in nothing but a towel. Her eyes moved from his face down his shirtless body as he sat down.

Christy laughed a little and looked at him, still blushing, "Are you flirting with me?" she asked laughing a little more. "I don't think I've seen you grant me with a smile at all tonight." She had stopped crying a little bit as she looked him in the eyes. If he was trying to keep her mind from wandering he was doing a fine job.

And if he was flirting with her what was so bad about that anyway? He wasn't that bad looking with the beard. She could imagine a square cut jaw underneath it as she laughed a little more. She hadn't giggled like that over someone in a while.

Felix couldn't help but blush again as she asked if he was flirting with her. "I er.. I don't know, do you think I'm flirting with you?" He asked carefully, suddenly realizing that maybe he should have put his shirt back on too. "It's been a while since I've been around.. er.. people.. and erm.. I feel more comfortable without a shirt, I'm sorry.." He sat up again, linking his fingers and setting them on his lap, his ears still red.

Suddenly he heard her giggle and his face got even redder, before he glanced towards her. She wasn't bad looking, not at all. In fact she was rather pretty. She was no Naomi, but since she wasn't around anymore... and never would be again. Would it hurt so much to have a little fun? This woman knew who he was, knew exactly what he had done, and was still offering a bed for him to sleep in. Maybe...

Felix felt the part of him that was still socially aware break through his barrier and he realized that this woman could in fact be fun, and possibly more the fun. Maybe she'd be a break from the world.. and he could be her break from the world. They both seemed to need it badly, as the world kept breaking them down. Felix felt the color drain from his cheeks, and move back into normal range as he came to his conclusion.

"Would you be upset if I wanted to flirt with you?" He asked suddenly, scooting a bit closer to her on the couch.

Christy blushed. She couldn't object or find a reason as to why she would be adverse to his flirtation..If he was in fact was flirting she really could find no reason to object. She also couldn't figure out why she was blushing from the idea of it.

She lowered her gaze and then lifted it back up at him, looking at him through her thick eyelashes. "Uh..." she said turning red all over, "I can't say I'd be adverse to it honestly."

She knew they both needed a distraction. She wondered if she and him could even become friends if they were to spend this time flirting leading to gods only knew what he was even thinking. She had never actually flirted with too many people in her life. Godric and her mother had made sure she was only around certain people at all times. She had to wonder how did one even go about flirting anyway?

Felix grinned when she spoke, and felt his old charming self come to play. He wished he didn't have the beard honestly, his jaw was a lot stronger looking without it. Sadly he couldn't just shave it off and hope no one recognized him. It was a good disguise, unless he wanted to magically grow it back in later.

Felix leaned towards her, grinning at her shyness, before quite suddenly looking away. "You ever been with someone before then?" He said out of the blue, leaning back on the couch and making himself look comfortable, his arm splayed out over the back of it, so she got quite a good view of his skinny but clean and defined chest. He might not had had so much food, but he had been running and occasionally working out enough that his lack of food only meant his abs were more defined.

He had a good body, if malnourished, and the lighting of the room made his skin stand out pretty well. He had a bit of a tan line along his arms, but for the most part it looked like whenever he could he had been without a shirt, and his hair-less chest and back were a nice golden color that worked well with his hair color.

"I mean like.. dating wise..." He corrected himself, letting his gaze fall back on her after a moment.

She looked at him her face as red as a tomato. She had never been asked that by someone before. She had been engaged to three different men so of course she had been with people. Dating or otherwise but really they were all approved of by someone in her family. She didn't whether to be embarrassed or upset that he would even ask that of her.

Then it occurred to her that he was messing with her. Trying to get a reaction from her. Christy smiled, "Well of course I've dated people before. I've been engaged after all. Although I realize now that being engaged at such a young age was probably not the best idea." she replied tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

She looked at the body that was sitting next to her. Not glanced, but actually looked. Despite the beard and she could honestly deal with that he wasn't bad looking on the eyes. In fact she was pretty sure he was aware of it and using that to his advantage. She had been warned of people like that. Warned to stay away from the 'bad boy' but for some reason she couldn't see a reason right now in which to do so.

Felix finally gave in to what was going on. He was flirting and he was ready to see just how far she wanted to take this. He wished he was still in his prime at that moment. At one point in time he had been charming and capable, his abs would have stood out, his muscles not bulging, but shaped. He glanced down and all he could see was his ribs and hip bones. When he glanced back up he saw her looking and he couldn't help it, he grinned.

"Ah.. engaged eh? Anything less serious then that? I mean.. a woman like you has to have had some one night stands a few times in their lives.." He said, his voice a bit deeper then normal, almost husky as he spoke, he sat up slightly and shifted a bit towards her, his eyes focused on hers before slowly and openly looking down at her body. His eyebrows raised slightly as he examined her as openly as he could, letting her know what was on his mind. It was obvious she was looking at him, so he looked at her, and liked what he saw.

"Sorry I'm not in my prime at the moment.. long time ago I was beardless and a lot more charming." He said and carefully reached up. The strand she had tucked behind her ear was poking out slightly in a weird way and he gently tucked it back behind her ear, grinning as he kept his hand there, gently running his finger across her jaw bone.
