It had been an ordinary day until a frantic Order member had come running into the Ministry shouting about Ne’Os Emof. Calvin had been sitting around behind his desk, doing paperwork- or, pretending to do paperwork while in truth he fiddled around with a muggle GameBoy- and had figured that the finest Aurors would be sent out to stop him like they always did and he would be left alone to win the last level of his favorite videogame, but things hadn’t played out as he had hoped.
“Calvin… have you read the paper lately?” One of the men Calvin worked with asked after setting the Daily Prophet down on his desk before him. “Turn that bloody thing off and read the front page, you git!” He ordered, snatching the GameBoy from Calvin’s hands roughly. Calvin frowned but did as he would told, holding the Prophet in his hands, adjusting his black rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose. “Hatts… Nerissa Hatts…” Calvin read aloud, his eyes wide out of shock and fear. His niece was with Ne’Os Emof, the most wanted man in London- heck, in the freakin’ world!
“What am I do to about this, Sam!?” Calvin shrieked, his hands shaking; he knew that Nerissa would be with Ne’Os, and that if he really wanted to help his neice he needed to join the Aurors on their trip to lock the madman up, but the idea frightened him out of his wits! He wouldn’t be able to handle anything like that and he knew it was true.
“Go with the Aurors, but make sure you stay hidden; if you stick to the sidelines no one will notice you and you wont run into any trouble. Find that little girl of yours and get out,” Sam told him, putting a hand on his shoulder firmly, encouraging him to do what it was that he needed to do. “Alright! Alright I’ll do it!” Calvin agreed, not realizing exactly what he was getting himself into.

Calvin fallowed the group of Aurors, walking slowly in the sand. He grumbled; he was getting hot, bug infested sand in his favorite sneakers. He shook one foot out infront of him and then the other, trying to free his socks of the gritty stuff only to end up tripping over one of his own feet. “Ouch- watch where your walking, Ransom! Why the hell are you here in the first place? Come to bore the criminals to death with some story about how you discovered a muggle computer?” One of the Aurors mocked him, shoving him backwards so that he wasn’t anywhere near him and couldn’t crash into his back once more. Calvin, being used to such teasing only frowned and continued walking silently, they were getting close to the tomb, and he could already feel his heart speeding up.
The group moved forward, wands at the ready, each getting into their positions before entering the large pyramid. Calvin, on the other hand, kept his wand hugged to his chest unimpressively and staid as close to the wall as possible, and as far away from the Aurors as he could; if he stayed away from them, he wouldn’t be shot at- or so he assumed.
They made their way past the first trap- Calvin was shaking the entire time- and into the next room, where they found a few of Ne’Os’ men on their way to join him most likely. “Open Fire!” One of them shouted, and so the gunshots began. Calvin screamed and hid his head under his arms, running around all of the chaos, stumbling over his feet as he went; he wasn’t their to help nab a criminal, all he needed to do was find Nerissa and get the hell away from the attention-seeking weirdoes.
But when Calvin finally found Nerissa, he wasn’t too happy at all. “Oh Merlin!” he whimpered when he entered the room she was in only to see that she was covered in ants, lying on the stone ground. He jumped up and down and shimmied, trying his best to keep the disgusting things from climbing up his own legs. He eventually started forward and grabbed Nerissa by the arm, pulling her up off of the ground. She was passing out, and Calvin knew he wouldn’t be able to carry her the whole way back. He groaned, unsure of what to do next as he pulled his wand out of his pocket and flicked it, hoping to get rid of all the ants. “aha!” he exclaimed; for once a spell he tried to perform actually worked!
“Come on, Nerissa, wake up kiddo, you need to stay awake for me now,” Calvin muttered, slapping her cheeks lightly.
A loud crack sounded that made dust fall from the ceiling. One of the Aurors had killed off the group of guards, apparently. Well, at least it would be easier to get out of the damned place.
