Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

((Setting is Hogwarts Grounds, but permissions are evil. Everyone is encouraged to attend, to commemorate the falling of Harry Potter and all those other people who died.
Fred Sad
It is raining, but we're under a marquee, and it is early to mid afternoon, and the official part has just concluded, so you're all already here.))

Jess stood under a great marquee, stretching across a great portion of the Hogwarts grounds, erected in order to keep the rain off everyone, after it had become apparent in the early hours of this morning that rain was going to be unavoidable. With all the classes suspended today, it seemed far more fitting to continue with the initial outdoor plans, in order to commemorate the fallen.

While it was not a completely sombre occasion, 26 years had dulled the sting a little bit though a slight bit did still remain, it was not a completely lighthearted one, not just yet. Give it 20 minutes or so when everyone shed the sad looks remaining in everyone's eyes as a result of the ceremony, get some firewhiskey into everyone, then let the mood rise. Perhaps the rain might even let off.

On the note, Jess poured himself a glass of whiskey and moved into the crowd of people eager to meet the Headmaster he'd heard so much, yet so little about.

The misty, rainy fog made a cloud fall upon the school. She took some whiskey too and decided she wasn't ready to start a conversation. She sat under the marquee sipping the whiskey and giving occasional smiles to Jess in the right places. She wasn't going to speak yet but she was close to doing so and she just smiled. Nobody would talk to her as she wasn't very popular.

Rain fitted perfectly the mood right now. Though, she didn't know Harry Potter or his friends that died in the battle, she thought I'd be rather nice to atleast show her face on anniversary.
She walked through people who mostly like her, were wearing black, and some of them were even crying. Harry Potter was almost like a God in their world, no wonder why so many tears were shed.
Mis hated when people were like this. All sad and really emotional. Finally, she made her way through everyone, and stood near the table. She couldn't see any of her friends or even her family, which she thought, would be here by now.

Post by Edgar Albert Doyle Mon May 02, 2011 4:23 pm

Doyle just limped to the first seat he found. Yes, this was a special occasion and he knew most of the people that had been mentioned earlier, but such a political manifestation was idiotic and hypocritical. Collecting political points on the behalf of fallen heroes, much bigger than anyone here, was a loathsome act, but he got used to it all. He sat down and stared around the place for a few moments and then closed his eyes, trying to doze off. He wasn't planning on staying long here.

Mariana walked in circles under the marquee wearing long black robe in honour of those who lost their lives in the battle so many years ago. Even though she didn't know anyone in person or had any relatives that died, her presence was more a sign of respect then anything else. While going around slowly she murmered some spanish preys under her breath as she was raised in the spirit of the mexican catholic faith. Glass of firewhiskey was levitating next to her though she didn't pay too much attention on it as she was only saving it in case there was a toast for the fallen coming up. She didn't cry like a lot of people did, she just gazed around quietly only preying silently not so not even a ghost would be able to hear her.

Rain was public enemy number one. Obviously it was important to celebrate the anniversaries of the events in the Second Wizarding War. That was all fine and dandy but Philippa wasn’t exactly dressed for remembering a less than happy event. In fact, she was probably dressed for a trip down to the beach or a sit in at some sort of war-protest event. Amongst the sombreness and the cloaks of remembrance, Pippa looked like a fool. She was quite comfortable, actually. She rather liked her dress and everything else went perfectly in her opinion. That didn’t mean a thing though. She still stuck out like a sore thumb and she wasn’t entirely sure what kind of message she was giving off. Regardless of that, Pippa was comfortable and that was really what mattered the most. Well, after remembrance.

Pippa looked around awkwardly, taking in the faces. She knew Jess Potter; not personally but she knew who he was. She didn’t exactly recognise anyone else. Oh, well, there was the Diggory girl. She’d been in Pippa’s house although Pippa couldn’t actually remember what her forename was. She seemed quite reserved about the whole affair. Pippa pursed her lips and swept over towards the Headmaster who had sat down in the nearest seat he’d found. Pippa grinned and tapped the man on his left shoulder. She dived to his right and grinned at him, exclaiming,

“Boo!” Pippa took a seat beside the headmaster and whipped off her sunglasses. She continued to grin as she held them out for the Professor. “Wear them, sir. I think the colour would suit you.” Pippa stifled a giggle and kicked off her floral heels. She looked down at her feet and wiggled her toes underneath the yellow tights that matched her cardigan and her sunglasses. She kept her hat on. She rather liked it. Perhaps she’d wear it more often.

“Would you prefer blue, sir?” Pippa asked curiously. “You are Ravenclaw’s Head of House after all. Hmm...come to think of it...what is your favourite colour? Ooh! Would you like a flower? I’m practicing on how to conjure them. I conjured Professor Wilson a sunflower. His classroom needed brightening up. What would you like? How about a lily? Or how about a sweet pea? In which case, what colour? There are so many!”

Raising a glass to the fallen. 26th Anniversary. Empty Re: Raising a glass to the fallen. 26th Anniversary.

Post by Andrew Thompson Mon May 02, 2011 10:14 pm

Andrew read a lot about the Battle of Hogwarts, at least some of the books that hadn't been censored by Voldemort in the past. He wasn't afraid of a dead man, not anymore. Yet just thinking about the battle that had decided so many lives truly was a horrific thought. Harry Potter dead and not finishing what he had started. Instead, this generation had to finish him off. For good.

Andrew wasn't sad at this occasion, he just seemed to be in a pretty straight mood. It's not like this had been the first of some commemoration for the dead. His brother had died in his arms after all. Nothing could really hurt him now. Yet despite his unemotional tribute, he scanned the area, hoping to find some familiar faces amongst the grief ridden. Strange, how so many people were sad about something that happened 26 years ago. Andrew hadn't lived when it happened, yet he knew the past was the past regardless. Time to move on. Speaking of which, he saw Jess standing nearby. Probably a time to say hey or something.

He approached Jess and said "Hey man. I see you arrived as well?"

Sophia was under under the marquee walking around wearing a knee high dress with a black traveling cloak over it with the hood pulled down. Honoring those who fallen on this horrible day that turned so many lives around. Sophia read alot about the battle of Hogwarts and how it was on this very ground where the horrilbe battle took place and so many lives. As she walked over towards the refreshment area Sophia gotten her some firewhiskey and poured it in a glass. As she seen Mariana she walked over towards her. "Hey Mari."said Sophia softly.

Post by Lucy Weasley Tue May 03, 2011 4:54 am

Lucy hated these formal occasions. She always had to wear a dress, which wasn't the bad part. Trying to explain to people that half her family had been obliterated before she was born, so she actually had no idea who they were reminiscing about was the bit that put her off.

She edged closer to Molly and wondered where their other cousins were. If they all stood around together, they might be able to make it seem like they really were all grieving together and all the nosey porkers would leave them alone.
