Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Nerissa?! Andrew figured Ne'Os would bring her along while he tended to his affairs. For some reason, that made Andrew, pretty made, and nearly caused him to just run down there. Andrew turned his body away from the pyradmid and toke a deep breath. He was getting to mad and that was never a good thing. He turned back and watched the conversation, awaiting for something to happen. Suddenly he heard static on his earpiece he used in case if someone had to warn him of something. He adjusted the frequency on it, and heard the conversation Ne'os was having with the others. What was going on. He pulled his pistol out and slowly began to follow them, taking cover each second.

Ne'Os had passed the first few rooms with the two hunters and hopefully Nerissa. They had found no resistance. as they entered the next room however they found their first trap. It was a seemingly endless chasm. "Well ladies and gents any suggestions?" he asked the group.

Brienne's tail wagged slightly as she entered the pyramid with them. Her ears shot up. "Why would you guys sell me? I'm smart and I can help you with the traps. I have a nice hearing range, too, and did I mention I'm smart." Her tail tucked between her legs, she started to have a real bad feeling about these people.

After getting through the passageway to the chasm, she thought for a minute.

"Anyone have rope and something sharp? We could make a grapple".

“Yes,” Nerissa replied, turning away from the odd looking girl to fallow Ne’Os as she was told. She received a few menacing looks from one of the men Ne’Os had brought along, but she simply turned her eyes away from him and looked straight ahead. She hadn’t a clue why this particular pyramid was so important to them, but she figured after not receiving an answer from anyone that it was best for her to stay silent for the time being.

As soon as they entered the dark place Nerissa could taste the difference in the air; it was dry and stale and almost hard to breath. She ran her hand along one of the stone walls, wiping the sand from it to see what was there. She took a step closer with her mouth open slightly in surprise; there were hieroglyphics carved into the stone and she was seeing it with her own eyes rather than on a photograph. She breathed in, amazed; she hadn’t a clue what they said or how to read them, but it was so surreal to feel them on her fingertips and see them so close. But that was when Nerissa remembered what exactly those outstanding little carvings could mean if seen at the entrance of an ancient tomb.

“Ne’Os… I hope you can read hieroglyphics, because there is a pretty good chance this is a warning about our first trap… could be a clue or anything really... I read somewhere once that these traps aren't always what they seem; there could be a lot more to it,” she spoke, not moving her eyes away from the images.

Andrew stuck to the shadows, nearly scared out of his wits. He was alone in a place that was built for death, and his main enemy was out in the front with his friend and that girl. Things were not looking good for him right now. He quickly put his back to the wall in the room Ne'Os just was. It seemed like there was a large chasm and they were thinking on how to get across. Andrew flicked his hand over the invisible switch and then moved into the room where they were. He quietly inched himself over to a large pillar, to the right of where they were and quickly put his back against it, watching them. He kept his breathing quiet and had his hand over the switch in case if he had to go invisible.

"Yes i can but this dosent help all the wall here says is, all hail lord Anubis the god of death" he said rolling his eyes at the dramatic warning. "well you guys wait let me see if...." he trailed off as he stepped out and to his amazment the floor appeared "that was a lame trap to be honest alright lets move who knows how fast the trap resets and i dont want to find out if it actuly is bottemless" he said running forward followed by the two hunters. He tried to open the next door only to find it locked. "second.." he said drawing his wand he tapped the door it opened quickly to reveal 5 inferi turned away from the door they clearly didnt notice it opened. Ne'Os and the two hunters filed in and took up firing positions. "open fire" he said. the three p90s opend fire with a ring that only came from silver striking flesh. The inferi fell. "alright so we know for sure inferi are here lets keep moving. Ne'Os and the two hunters moved ahead they had finished crossing the room when they reached the next trap. It was a paradox. "Nerissa how good are you at cracking paradoxes?" he asked. reading the text next to it. it read It is possible to play two losing games alternately to eventually win.

"If I may speak up", Brienne said, "Maybe it means that the next two traps are non-deadly, and actually lead to whatever is at the end." She was only theorizing, but she thought this was right. She didn't want to find out herself, though, so she'd wait for the others to try first. She slinked back a little bit so they wouldn't get any ideas to use her.

Andrew watched the whole scence and waited until they moved into the next room. He then quickly looked around on the floor for the floor panel, looking desperaely for that switch. He then heard ringing fire coming from the next room. Andrew tried to not fear the worst, but it was impossible. He was worried that had shot the girl. Andrew then began steppig on every square until he finally found the right one and the floor moved to the next part. He quickly followed the others into the next room and felt relieved when it was just Inferi. He sighed in relief and then followed behind, making every step as quiet as possible. He saw they had stopped again and quickly ran and slid over to another pillar, crouching behind it so they couldn't see him.

Fallowing close being Ne’Os, Nerissa made her way forward, watching him as she went; she was terrified of getting lost after hearing a few terrifying stories of that happening to several people on the news a while ago- though when she had heard said stories she had never expected to find herself in a pyramid herself.

They came to another stop. “Somewhat if you give me a moment to think,” Nerissa replied with a nod of her head. She leaned against the wall nearest to her and stared off at nothing particular, repeating the words Ne’Os had read only a moment before, “It is possible to play two losing games alternately to eventually win…” she was working it out in her mind, like a jigsaw puzzle.

She inhaled sharply when the answer occurred to her. It had taken her quite a bit, but she understood it nonetheless, “It is a losing strategy that wins!” she stated, ready to elaborate if needed.

Given two games, each with a higher probability of losing than winning, it is possible to construct a winning strategy by playing the games alternately. Nerissa let the words form in her head, thinking of the best way to explain their situation.

The door opened "so it seems" said Ne'Os giving her a warm smile "Lets go were almost to the plaza" he said thinking there was only one more room. He heard some static on his radio and then a voice said "Sir the sandstorm ended about ah our ago give us a few minutes and we will be in the plaza." "roger that we are waiting" said Ne'Os reaching the end of the last room. The door opened slowly to reveal a beautiful plaza/courtyard in the center was a fountain that was long since out of use but the plants were still alive as if some magic maintained them. Overhead two Blackhawk class gunships hovered 8 ropes decended from the helicopetrs and 16 vampire hunters decended from them shortly followed by another 16. "Sir the lieutenant is on his way by jeep" he said. "Excellent take four groups of four and find the tomb within the pyramid" he said. the groups quickly orginized and spread out. "We shall search as well but lets rest a bit and admire the beauty we have uncovered." he said looking around with amazement that something could survive so long.
