Robert watched the two grooms trying to "man up" for this whole thing. He remembered his own nerves on his own wedding day. But, as he watched the two, there was a distinct difference. Jack seemed to be eagerly awaiting this, fully and completely. Rob, on the other hand, had one foot that was ready to commit, and the other that desperately wanted to run away for fear of commitment. Robert knew he could remove that fear, but he wanted Khaat and Rob going into this honestly, as themselves, for better or for worse. And taking his fear away wth magic, just wasn't being honest. Now, if he asked Robert to remove his deep fear of commitment that would be another thing altogether. Then all he would see was how very much he loved Khaat, because Robert knew Rob's love for her was there, and it was strong.
But so was this boy's hangover. And that didn't sit right with Robert. He was not about to let Rob marry his princess and start out what should be the best day of her life recovering from a blitz at a bar. He went over to him and laid a firm hand on his shoulder, squeezing just a touch too hard on purpose and said. "I've seen her, Boy. You won't be disappointed. Get a hold on yourself now. You're getting a princess. I'm not going to tell you to take good care of her because I know you will. But whatever you need a hand with, her mother and I are there for you."
He released Rob's shoulder, knowing he had drawn off all the hangover aftereffects he could find.
