Robert had been asked by Khaat to wear the very trim black suit that made him look so impressive and he had worn a crisp white shirt, with white gold and ruby cufflinks and a matching tie bar. He had worn a red brocade tie. He had been asked to give the bride away because she was pregnant with twins and the nervous groom wanted a steady hand under his bride so that she made it through the ceremony without issue. Robert, as a Master Healer, would instantly know if there were anything going amiss while she had hold of his arm. Getting to the venue, he had been pleased to bring his wife Katherine and his daughter Khaat.
He thought both women were the two most beautiful creatures he'd ever seen, but he was partial. He admitted that. He never ceased to be stunned by his wife's beauty, even after almost 50 years of marriage. Today she had stunned him by wearing a beautiful sapphire blue sheath style dress that had a matching coat with an unusual side button. The button was gold with a large blue saphhire. It had been an antique she had found in a flea market that she dearly loved. She wore only a simple gold chain necklace with it and simple gold earrings, with dark shoes.
And then there was Khaat. She had been originally slated to give the bride away, but because of how fragile Jessica had been feeling, Robert had decided a stronger arm under Jessica was in everyone's best interests. Khaat was pregnant as well, but was still so early that she had her trim figure yet. She had chosen a soft and creamy textured silk in a rose red that had a lusterous sheen to it. Jessica had asked her to dress in red. The dress had an asian cut to it, hung just below the knee, and had long sleeves, a side slit on her right thigh that was, tastefully, only a few inches above her knee. The dress had black and gold trim--black and gold frog closures, and a black and gold trimmed mandarin collar. She had very elegant little black heels with gold trim. Robert had not approved of what he considered to be flimsy little shoes. And he planned on keeping a sharp eye on her so she didn't twist her ankle and fall and jeopardize her own child--his grandson or granddaughter. Khaat had pulled her hair up in a soft, somewhat relaxed, very elegant twist that she had somehow managed to hold in place with just a pair of cloissonne hair clips. Her blond and chestnut hair glistened in the sunlight, and he was always amazed by how beautiful she looked. Jack and Jessica had insisted that they have seats in the very front row on the bride's side so that Robert was as close to Jessica as he could be. He made sure the two most important women in hiis llfe were doing well, and then went to check on the bride, to be sure all was well.
