Basic Class 1

Bane was able to quickly, and somewhat neatly jot down the notes that he had missed. he was happy to see that the new headmaster had not chewed him out for being late on the first day of class. He walked up to the front of the class, and selected a knut. As he sat back down, he pulled out his wand and concentrated. Silver...Silver...Silver....Knut..No Silver...Silver. What Bane now held in his hand, was a silverish knut. It still had a somewhat bronze tint to it. He frowned at his failure.

Vincent walked around the class, watching the student's attempts. They didn't seem to be as sucessful as Wake, but were getting the basic idea. "Alchemists never use their wands, only their hands," he advised Lincoln and Dawn. "Nevertheless, it seems like you have had a little success with using the wand. 5 points to Hufflepuff and Gryffindor."

Miseria giggled quietly when looking at this little precious gold. It was so funny! How could she possbily make such mistake? Fail in this way? She looked at Vincent, still happy in no reason. Well, for the first Alchemy lesson it was better than nothing, right?
“No, I thought of silver, however, I wanted to make this with gold stripes...“ she replied to him. It was supposed to be sarcastic back-comment, though, but she was still laughing. Then she raised her wand and turned little golden knut into silver. Then she put it on the table, still smiling at herself.

Elijah wandered up to the front and picked up a coin. He flicked it into the air and caught it tight in his hand before walking back over to his desk. He sat down and picked up his quill, scribbling a few notes down in his textbook and making sure he got it all. Eli flicked the coin up again and flicked his wand, slowing the movement. Elijah corrected something before snatching the coin out of the air. He closed his eyes and focused on the coin.

He didn't know how he was going to get silver out of it. Nether the less, Eli focused on changing the coin into silver. He took his wand for good measure and held it over his hand. He knew it wasn't going to do much but he could just try. [i]Knut to Silver, Knut to Silver, Knut to Silver, Knut to Silver![i] he repeated in over in his mind, hoping for some kind of reaction.

Eli opened his eyes and dropped the coin onto his book. One side was silver and it looked pretty good while the other looked more bronze but he was half way there. Eli smiled a little and jotted down a few notes. It would need some refining but it was alright. Now he could confuse shop keepers with his Knut-Sickle hybrid.

Keith stared at the little bronze nut that wouldn't be silver. COME ON YOU STUPID LITTLE COIN! Inner Keith roared at the inert piece of metal. CHANGE TO SILVER! He grabbed it in his hand and squeezed, focusing all his willpower on shifting the knut from bronze to silver. After a good five minutes of his hand felling like someone had run over it with a truck, he opened his hand to see...a broze knut.

BLOODY HELL! Inner Keith screamed again, and he had the sudden, highly violent urge to chuck the little bronze knut out the nearest window. Instead, he grabbed the coin again and began to focus.

Abbey smiled happily, glad she'd gotten Hufflepuff even a few points. She set her wand down on her desk and concentrated at the Knut. 'Please turn into silver, she thought. 'It'd be really nice of you! Abbey grimaced at the Knut as it sat motionless in the palm of her hand. "Fine then, be that way!" she whispered, hoping no one had heard her; the last thing she needed was for someone to start rumors that Abbey Dawn talked to herself.

Abbey squinted at the Knut and pictured it turning into a tiny silver coin. Finally, the coin disappeared in her hand. Abbey held her breath and bit her lip, waiting to see what it would turn into. Magically, a silver coin materialized in her hand. "Yay, I did it!" she cheered.

Miseria was not doing anything to help her grade by taking this all like some little joke, indeed she was joking like this was some sort of circus. He glared at her angrily. She clearly had potential to be an alchemist as she now had a precious silver coin in her hand . He gave her 5 points for her success. The rest were still trying, and looking quite impatient, clearly they weren't focusing correctly. Eventually though some of them got it. "Good job Miss Dawn," Vincent said nodding. "5 more points to Hufflepuff. 5 points to Slytherin too Mr.Krum. However, try to focus more. Also, you must be confident. Determination is the key to be a sucessful alchemist. Alchemy comes with magic, mind and spirit, and I trust you all have those, so you can at least do this little task," he told them, also becoming a little impatient now. Nevertheless, the class had grasped the basics quite well. Vincent looked worryingly at Nicholas, who looked quite furious. "Keep calm as well, anger won't help one bit," he advised.

Abbey smiled and pulled another Knut out of her pocket, while placing the silver coin on the desk next to her. Abbey concentrated again until she felt like she might burst. The Knut shivered in the palm of her hand, and produced another silver coin.

Bane put away his wand, embarresd that he had made such an obvious mistake in using it. After a short time of frustration, Bane averted his concentration to the silverish knut. Silver...Silver...Silver...Silver... And before Bane's eyes. The bronze knut transformed into a piece of precious silver. He smiled happily at his own succes.

Vincent nodded at Bane's success, the class were getting better. Good. "10 points to Gryffindor Mr.Lincoln," Vincent awarded, albeit against his will.
