"I'm just having all the luck tonight," he whispered in her ear. "How are you? You're the only one who has to fight to keep this a secret from everyone...It must be hard..."

She kissed him back and laughed, "I guess you are." she replied and then sighed as she felt his breath on her ear. She frowned, "Its fine. Its only a little difficult to make up lies to where I'm going and have people actually believe them." She looked him in the eyes. "Did you go and watch the first task of the tournament like you said you would?" she asked looking at him curiously.

"Heh, I have all this crap to deal with. Trust me, what I want goes well beyond material possessions. I have a lot of those," Varod told her, smile becoming forced. "Just go with me on this one. Anyway, what do you want to do now? We can't stand here hugging forever, no matter how great that might sound."

"Well..." she said pulling away from the hug, "Do you wanna dance with me?" she asked smiling sweetly trying to throw her veela charm on him. She knew he wasn't the kind who danced but they were at a ball and what would have been the point of him even getting dressed up and coming if he wouldn't dance with her. "Please?"

Varod shrugged, totally unaffected by her veela thing. He didn't love her for her looks, so how could it affect him?
"Sure, except..." he looked embarrased. "I've never danced before."

Don't worry, I'll help! I can dance, let me take over your legs and hands for a bit! Anti thought to him.

As soon as Anti had his legs and arms, Varod wheeled Christy onto the dance floor.

"Thought it wouldn't be Anti I was dancing with." she said hearing his thoughts as he wheeled her onto the dance floor. She frowned a bit at that. "Come on you can't honestly be that nervous can you?" she asked looking at him curiously.
