Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

If you look at the side that's opposite of Al Gore, you'll see that it's not carbon dioxide that is 'polluting' the earth. Carbon dioxide is actually given off by all living beings.

The temperature of the sun is wavering, so it's not really a big deal. I mean, what about the ice age? Animals survived that, why make a big deal out of a little heat now?

I haven't looked it up in a while so this might totally be wronge but I think its carbon MONOxide that is destroying our ozone layer not carbon dioxide. And its not a bunch of bologna. Global warming is happening, its a proven fact. Its not a conspiracy theory or anything. If people keep destroying our earth our earth will (simply put) be destroyed.

I disagree. But, the carbon dioxide is something that I think is dumb. Every living thing on Earth emits it, so it's not exactly gonna cause this 'ozone layer' to be destroyed.

I still don't think it's happening. I mean, I'm all for saving the planet, but is it really necessary to make such a big deal out of something like this? Back when the little ice age was ending, people thought the world was ending.

AND, today, there have been studies that show that the ice caps are sturdier and thicker than scientists originally thought. I have also read that the sun's temperature is the one that's increasing, not carbon dioxide. But, the sun is not increasing to a dangerous temperature. It has always fluctuated, and if global warming were because of pollution, why wasn't there a big deal about it when industrialization began in the U.S.?

Is this about global warming or swineflu?

Either way, i think swineflu isn't a big deal really. The media, as always are exagerating. Only like what,1 person dead in the states? 1500 infected but theres already a wide range of treatments for it..

Oh and if you guys want to discuss the ozone, please open a new thread for it.

I have to agree. I think it's being blown way out of proportions. It's bad, yes. But there are a lot of other things are still worse. I'm sorry to any who are affected by this.
