Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. The Battle No One Planned - Page 3 Empty Re: The Battle No One Planned

Tris nearly stared at Henri as the girl so easily counteracted the spell. It was obvious that she needed to spend a little less time researching spirits, and practice some extra spells.

Richard's curse caused floorboards beneath her feet to creak and split. Letting out an alarmed, "What?!" Tris jumped off of them, watching as they caught fire. The last thing they needed was more flames.

The first thing that came to mind sent Trisha pointing her wand at Richard and shouting, "Confundus!" only hoping it would do something before she cast Aguamenti at the floor beside her only moments before it collapsed and left a jagged hole.

Richard, strong-willed Death Eater that he was, became nothing more than frustrated at the small blonde girl's attempts, rolling his eyes. This was the best they could do?

The Battle No One Planned - Page 3 Empty Re: The Battle No One Planned

Post by Jaquellene Jack Dyllan Mon Aug 05, 2013 4:21 am

Jack Dyllan had a knack for finding trouble. She used to think trouble found her, but how could she blame trouble when she was the lowest common denominator? She had realized long ago that if her day started out with a funny feeling, there would be trouble. And if it started out normally, there would be trouble.

She had make a quick pit stop in Hogsmeade to visit an old werewolf friend, to ensure she had enough wolfsbane for the next few months. As she left the small home, her head happened to turn as her nose picked up a smell she was particularly sensitive too. She followed it, and picked up the pace as she began down the trail that led to the Shrieking Shack's scenic overlook.

Sure enough, there was smoke.

Devin felt warmth and looked down, finding his jacket on fire. He quickly lost the jacket and it burned atop the ground, as he felt his fury mount. He swung an arm to strike the girl, before yelling "Crucio!"

- - -

BOOM.

The door swung open, falling off its hinges. Jack surveyed the room and recognized Devin and Richard - the former had caused some trouble for the Aurors, and the latter was a known Death Eater. She flicked a wand and Devin was flung backwards painfully, crashing into a wardrobe. She held her wand against the other man. "Everyone stop now, or there will be trouble."

In a panic, Devin fumbled for his wand. "Morsmordre!" The dark mark flew into the air and Jack narrowed her eyes. She beckoned to the younger people. "Behind me. Come on."

Henri raised her wand. "Sectumsempra!" Jack deflected the spell by quickly levitating a floorboard and she boomed, "You will stop now!" She flicked her wand and cords wrapped around Henri's knees, causing her to fall over.

Devin shrieked, "BOMBARDA MAXIMA!" and the room exploded with debris.

Here are the ones that concern you guys

Crucio - Devin to Hitame - the torture spell
Morsmordre - the dark mark summoning spell
Bombarda Maxima - a large explosion. This one is particularly large and set in the middle of the room

Trisha was staring to see why Adrienne had been knocked out. When the explosion went off, she was thrown backwards - luckily, she was able to keep her head away from the wall. Crouching over Addie, she did her best to keep the girl from being hit by any more debris. She could only hope that more of Potter's Army or the Order would show up before the Death Eaters did.

Richard frowned darkly as Jack entered the room, commanding that everything come to a halt. He didn't really have an interest in that. The other Death Eaters would be on their way by now, and it wouldn't take long.

Intending to give the Death Eaters a chance to land without being tackled or anything immediately, he directed his wand in between Devin, Henri and himself and the others. "Fumos." He muttered, watching as smoke covered the floor.

Jack looked to one of the standing girls, who was hovering over a girl who seemed unconscious. Jack would not jump to any worse conclusions, however. "Grab her, bring her over here," Jack instructed to the young blonde girl as the other girl struggled to free her legs.

Richard caused a thick smoke to unfurl and she glared at him. "You oaf!" She flung the board in her hand at him, before dodging a spell Devin had thrown at her. Jack was confident she could battle these two, but she was a bit worried about the students getting hurt. "Go into the other room!" she commanded.

Too late. Another Death Eater by the name of Arnie Alkins entered, grinning. He pointed his wand at the boy and yelled, "Imperio!"

Trisha nearly jumped when the older Order member addressed her regarding Adrienne. Kneeling down, she checked once more to be sure she wouldn't be harming Addie by moving her before standing again and directing her wand at the elder Ravenclaw.

"Wingardium Leviosa." She cast quickly, walked beside the floating form as she took Addie into the next room as directed

Looking around, biting her lip, Tris realized she couldn't very well just leave her there. Frowning and utterly frustrated, Trisha sat down next to where she'd set Adrienne and kept her wand at the ready.

Richard didn't see the board until it his his side, making him wince. Arnie had shown up, which was a good sign. Hoping Arnie's curse had worked on the student, Richard began making his way through the smoke. He didn't see a problem with being face to face with the other side, as a distraction for the other Death Eaters who, he now was certain, were on their way.

Walter who had just reccently came out of Sophia's house after not being there in such awhile, decided to take a walk around the town. It evidently came to his attention that there was massive commotion coming from the Shrieking Shack. He decided to walk faster to reach the area.

As he got closer he began to see the smoke, the fires, and the debris that have been scattered around the ground and in through the windows. Something bad was going on and he automatically knew that lives were at stake now. He began to run faster it was his duty.

Now even closer he began to hear the spells rebound back and forth across the building walls and could hear the yelps and cries of the people within. One of the voices he thought he heard was Hitame, and that's when Walter started to panic. No. I can't let her get hurt He ran as fast as he could and he finally had made it to the building.

Before going in he observed the windows, he wanted to get a good view on the situation so once inside he would have the element of surprise, or at least the upperhand. He noticed Her sister, Jack, a couple of other Hogwarts students he had never seen before and some death eaters. Walter would once again be entering unfamiliar territory and although it worried him, his sister was in need of aid.

He aimed his wand through the window and aimed at one of the death eaters there. "Petrificus Totalus"

Not knowing what it had done he quickly jolted in through the door, and stood on the side where Jack and Hitame were standing. He was so on the defensive that he did not even look at Hit or Jack. His eyes were dead straight on the evil ahead.

"Just give me the orders Jack" Walt said, wand at the ready facing the death eaters.

The Battle No One Planned - Page 3 Empty Re: The Battle No One Planned

Post by Peter Howard Mon Aug 05, 2013 11:35 am

By the time Baird McLaggen appeared at the end of the path that led up to the Shrieking Shack, a gathering had begun to form of concerned people; each one seemingly wondering whether or not it was worth letting the Aurors know what was going on.

Baird didn’t share that feeling. Instead, he felt a strange will to get involved, one that saw him jump the fence out of sight of the crowd and hurry in through the back door.

His timing, as ever, was impeccable and just as Baird kicked the back door in, a myriad of bits of wood, brick and textiles flew out through the frame, buckling a portion of the wall that barely kept up the roof and floors above as it was.

Taking his wand from the back of his pocket, Baird lit the end, deciding - to hell with underage magic.

The Dark Mark above the building did not go unnoticed by the Ravenclaw, either.

Biting the inside of his cheek, Baird darted inside, his eyes watering as he fought to see through the dust and smoke in the air.

Flashes of light he knew to be magic fired this way and that, cutting holes in the grey vapour that prevented him from ascertaining whether it was his own hand in front of his face or merely someone else’s.

Quickly, Baird decided his own life was more important than everyone else’s and, lithely avoiding a wayward spell, ducked into another room with a shove of his shoulder against the splintered, ancient and rotting door.

“Trish!”

The exclamation left his mouth before he even fully realised who it was. Then, of course, his eyes fell to a dusty, dirty figure that beneath the grime the house had laid into them all, he knew to be Addie.

Baird hurried over, his hand fumbling into the breast pocket of his coat. He produced a small roll of cloth of a green shade which was slightly mottled, stained and worn in places where it had been well used.

The Ravenclaw knelt down beside Addie and drew his wand over her figure, trying to ascertain as best he could what was wrong with her.

She’d have an awful headache when she woke, he knew that much.

“Are you hurt, Trish?” He asked as he unrolled the fabric revealing brightly coloured potions held in place by loops of similarly coloured fabric. Each one was labelled but the one he wanted as something to bring Addie to with. She didn’t need to be unconscious too long lest she didn’t get enough oxygen to her brain.

“How long has she been out?”

The Battle No One Planned - Page 3 Empty Re: The Battle No One Planned

Post by Hallie Cooper Mon Aug 05, 2013 12:04 pm

Hallie had been enjoying her time as a trainee auror, sure it was hard work and constant study whenever she got home but it distracted her from her wandering thoughts of her meeting with Jack Dyllan, her brother Toby Cooper and some guy named Joshua who she'd had a one night stand with. She wasn't the type to have one night stands, sure she liked guys and would flirt but the rush of her auror interview earlier that day had provoked recklessness beyond recklessness and now she was attached, despite not seeing him since the morning after.

For the past week Hallie had been working late in the office, most of the job at the moment was training, paper work and small cases - or so it was mean't to. The short stubby witch who sat at reception in the Atrium came bursting into the auror office, looking around before catching Hallie's eyes.

'Quick! Need aurors - Hogsmede - Shrieking Shack - Fire - Dark Mark.' It was difficult for Hallie to make out exactly what the witch was saying within her panting breath from the full on sprint from her post in the Atrium.

'Slow down!' Hallie began, 'Just, tell me what happened?' Not expecting what came out of the witches mouth Hallie's eyes widened and her jaw dropped. So there was a raging battle going on at the shrieking shack, a villager had saw the dark mark and apparated to the Ministry in order to get help... In addition it appeared the witch wanted Hallie to go.

'But I can't go to something that big I'm only a trainee! We need the main aurors, can you not contact them? Can you not use the floo network to their homes or something?' She asked, although was soon disappointed at the welcome witches shake of a head and ringing her hands screaming that there wasn't time.

'Get in touch with them and tell them to get to Hogsmede. I don't care if they've got tenur and can't be bothered they need to get their act together!' Hallie instructed, before rising from her desk in a godly fashion and sweeping across the room to the fireplace. The Auror didn't know what had come over her, she felt all of a sudden authoritarian. The truth was the battle of the shrieking shack was provoking all sorts of memories: the torture of Maura and the murder of her father.

The latter hadn't occurred at the shack but it was death eaters who'd brought about his death and if death eaters were causing trouble in Hogsmede Hallie wasn't going to let them get away with it. Even if she did have to bypass certain parts of the law to do so.

'The Three Broomsticks!' Hallie chanted clearly before plunging the floo powder into the ashes below and being whipped out of sight in a blaze of green flames.

Upon her arrival she was greeted by the barmaid who was by the window looking out over the hill to a fiery sight. 'Thank goodness you've arri-' However before the barmaid could finish what she wanted to say Hallie had blasted the front door open in a hurry to reach the scene. Only three months ago had she been there, suffering the curciatus curse and watching her friends suffer mutilation. She hadn't become that much more advanced although she had more skill that before and the passion inside her was roaring like a lioness ready to do what needed to be done.

Four minutes later Hallie was running up the wild garden of the Shrieking Shack, fire was lighting up the evening sky, windows had been shattered and the door blown form it's hinges.

Rushing inside she was greeted from the shouts of spellcasters and noticed one of the death eaters. Hallie hadn't met him before but his picture was plastered all over the auror office and he'd given the department a lot of grief in his time.

Her blue eyes fell upon Jack Dyllan. The imprint of their previous meeting at Cooper Cottage regarding her brother still burnt at the front of her skull. No. She couldn't let her emotions interfere, yet it was her emotions that had led her to storm out of the auror office, attend such a scene without authorization or assistance.

'Avis!' Hallie cried from her stance at the door, her mind clearly focused on the creation of a flock of falcons. It was advanced transfiguration, more advanced than the usual conjuration of small canaries but it could be done and Hallie was excellent at transfiguration.

The falcons shot from her wand into the air above. There was still a whole in the ceiling where James and Maura had been blasted through from the bedroom at the hands of Hallie's confringo.

'oppugno!' Hallie screamed in a frightfully beautiful manner, the wind from outside blowing her hair and causing her robes to swirl around her ankles. The falcons zoomed towards the death eaters, their talons at the ready to slash the faces.

The Battle No One Planned - Page 3 Empty Re: The Battle No One Planned

Charlotte had just got back home from training. In a few weeks the England Quidditch Team trials would take place and Topez was one of the favourites for one of the two beater positions - the other being Jack Dyllan. Charlotte's arch enemy. It wasn't that the two knew each other on a personal level, simply a professional level.

Her Holyhead Harpies team mates were excited for her to have the chance to play for England and had been training her extra hard, meaning that her death eater duties had slipped. Charlotte had agreed to find out more information of what the civilians were thinking, being a celebrity figure they trusted her and it also coincided with her extra public appearances to make her a more profitable player for the England squad.

Upon arriving back to her mansion in Southern England a twinge in her arm caused her to drop her firebolt 3000. The dark mark. The death eaters needed her, and it was unexpected which mean't a battle of some sort was taking place.

She knew what she needed to do. Closing her eyes Hallie pressed the palm of her right hand upon the dark mark, concentrating on wanting to appear at wherever they needed help. The dark mark would take her there...

CRACK! Topez had apparated and was plummeting from the mouth of the snake that was blazing in the evening sky. Still having her broomstick in hand she managed to fling herself on, withdraw her wand and wave it across her face, causing a mask to cover her sultry features. It would be unwise for Charlotte to appear in public as a death eater with the trails coming up.

'BOMBARDA!' Her deep, monotone, heart skipping voice boomed through the sky, blasting a hole into the roof of the shack for her to soar through, arriving in the main room where the action seemed to be taking place. Flames whipped up the walls and she noticed fellow death eaters that were... being thwarted by Jack Dyllan!

The chances were that Jack would recognise Charlotte even with her mask on, who else would arrive my broomstick and be able to pull up and break from a hundred foot dive out of the dark mark?

Hovering by the hole in the ceiling Charlotte noticed a blonde girl fire three falcons at the death eaters. Avada Kedavra! She thought, sending a flash of green lightning at one of the birds, causing it to drop dead in the nick of time.

She despised animals of any sort and had no problem in killing them, torturing them, mutilating them but when it came to humans Charlotte had never killed. Sure she had dealt with them but never murdered, yet, now seemed a perfect opportunity to perform her first act. Now was her chance to silence Jack Dyllan and claim the beater position for herself.

'CRUCIO!' She screamed, sending the torture sparks flying to Jack.

No. Not again. Not again, she didn't want to feel the Cruciatus Curse on her again. She hated it and it only brought back bad memories. When the spell hit her she screamed. At first the pain wasn't too bad - the result of having had it used against her before. But soon she started feeling more pain and she couldn't hold onto her wand anymore, her body starting to go numb and her vision beginning to blur.

She could tell more people were arriving, but she couldn't call out for help. She couldn't tell who was who, who was on what side. There was one voice she managed to recognize, though, only because it was her brother.

"X-Xem...!" She managed to call out to him, in the midst of the pain that was quickly consuming her.
