sleeping babys and peaceful times

Delilah looked around then went up to the nursery. She picked up baby James and sat down in the rocking chair she hummed quietly as she rocked him. She looked out the window wishing that Steven was there. Dylan had started at a muggle preschool and now Delilah was a little lonely since the twins couldn’t talk yet. “Daddy and Bubby need to hurry home don’t they, James,” Delilah whispered to the little baby in her arms, “Yeah yeah they do,” she kissed him on the forehead and as he started to fall asleep so did she. She slept in the rocking chair with James until Jaylan started to cry. Delilah got up laid the sleeping James down then picked up little Jaylan.

Steven aperated into the farm things had been busy at the ministers and all he could think of was getting home to his family. he pushed open the door and ound the main room empty plcing his jackt down he moved to the nursary smiling as he saw Daliah with jaylan rocking her to sleep, he quietly moved behind her and wrapped his arms around daliah kissing her neck softly as he did " hey leave some for me " he said softly smiling as he looked at the baby " she's grown beautiful like her mother " his hands hloding her " I love you and missed you so much Dalilah" he said moving to face her he cupped her face and gently kissed her to show just how much he did miss her " I brought you something " he said " but its in my bag down stairs"

"I missed you two Steven," Delilah whispered and kissed him, "let me lay her down then we can go into the other room so we don't wake them." she stood up and lay Jaylan down in her crib after kissing her on the forehead. then took Stevens hand as they left the nursery. in her other hand she held a baby monitor. they went into the main room and she sat down on the sofa and curled up laying her head on the back of it. She smiled over at steven. She had really missed him it had been kind of lonely with out an adult and even more lonely with out someone who could reply when she talked to them. “Dylan will be home soon,” she whispered.

steven smiled gently kissing jaylen and taking Dalilah's hand as they walked down stairs he watched her sit and smile he retched in and took a large black velvet box smiling he moved to sit next to her and opened it there sat a earring set and he placed it on her knee " because I love you and I didn't give you a wedding presant, the babies don't count " he said and chuckled moving to kiss her feeling more relaxed than he had ever before in the past month.

"Thank you Steven your wonderful," Delilah said and kissed him setting the earrings and necklace aside. she cuddled into Steven. "I got something for you too, but you'll have to wait for it." the door opened and closed and Dylan ran into the main room and over to the sofa.
"daddy," he said hugging him, "your home."
“Yeah he is,” Delilah whispered and pulled Dylan up into her lap, “your getting heavy,” she said.
“NO I’m not,” Dylan said and squirmed away to go see his brother and sister.
“and now Dylan’s home,” Delilah said and then called after him, “do not wake them up.”
“okay mommy,” he said.

Steven smiled and held Dylan tight as he ran over and huged him " yes Dylan its me and im ehre for a whole month " he said smiling " the ministers daughter gave us the month off " he sid smiling at her as she said she had a gift for him but it would have to be later. He let Dylan move to Dalilah and chuckled " hes growing into quit a young man now " he said an ruffeled Dylans hair as he watched him move to the twins bed room. He slid his arms around Dalilah and pulled her to sit on his knee " so how have they been the twins?" he siad gently rubbing her back as he held her he puleld her close to him and kissed her " mumm some quality time with my wife and the kids " he said softly " but mostly you " he smiled at her kissingher lightly again.

"They have been good. Dylan helps a lot. he tries to change their dippers and other things." she kissed him back laying her head on his shoulder. "the one thing is that they still don't sleep through the night," she whispered, “James wakes and starts to cry and wakes Jaylan or the other way around. “I’m glad your home.” she whispered and kissed him again as Dylan and sunny ran out side. “and Dylan still had way to much energy.” she giggled as she watched him and his dog. Delilah’s eyes drifted closed and she whispered “Jaylan had awaken me from a nap just before you got home.” she looked at the clock and then got up, “what do you want for dinner?”

steven looked at her and brushed her hair gently " then sleep Im here to lookmafter you now " he said softly and kissed her cheek as he held her closer he saw Dylan come running in and placed his finger to his lips mening for him to be quiet. He chuckled as Dylan took off his shoes and tip toed over to sit with them leaning against Dalilah. Steven smiled he had missed this being a father to her. moving he picked her up in his arms and carried her to the bed room. " dylan would you change and wait in the kitchen,I'll be out in a mint once I have your mother settled in bed " he sid and moved to place her in bed kissing her as he quickly moved to make dylan some supper then he smiled returning to their room as he puleld up the comfprter over her.

Delilah fell asleep as steven carried her back to their bed room. "Yeah sure daddy," Dylan whispered and went to go change then ran into the kitchen the whole time sunny was at his feet. delilah was curled up in a ball when steven got back to pull the comforter up over her. Dylan had fallowed him back to the bed room and stood in the hall way, "Daddy," dylan whispered the ran away. her ran out side to the barn and sat in front of his ponies stall. he smiled up at the horse and petted sunny thought their was a hint of sadness in his eyes along with a bit of weariness.. he waited for steven hoping he'd fallow him.

Steven heard Dylan and moved to follow him out to the barn " whats up Dylan?" he asked as he saw him petting sunny as he looked at the ponies . miving a bail of hay he sat down next to him. " so man to man, whats bothering you?" he asked softy as he too stroked sunny's head gently . He had missed seeing Dylan and now, he had changed from the small toddler into a young boy some time while he was away. He hoped nothing bad would come of Dylan's wanting to be alone with him.
