Chatbox!
Yes, I am well-aware that there is, not one, but two chatboxes. Only, if I did not have prior experience with forumation (I was an Admin before) it would have taken me at least a month to find the second one. Wayyyy down below, underneath the forum. XDs
The first chatbox is fine. Except, I didn't know you had to literally 'press' refresh to see if anyone has replied until just now (you gotta love slow ppls ^_^). Before, I would wait. And wait. Then 'click on a topic' .. BAM!!! -- at least 2-3 messages saying 'Hey Sabe' all from several minutes ago. (( ME: Ahhh !!! DX ))
The other chatbox could refresh automatically. If that chatbox were located at the top of the forum (or, at the very least, the top of the Portal), it may increase the activity simply because communication would be much easier. In fact the last RPG site I was on had excellent activity because users mingled and interacted more with one another, and thus plotted out RP ideas all with a few quick taps on the keyboard.
The only issue with that was people began caring less and less about RP'ing and more and more about their personal issues. Pretty soon, there were major arguments, flirting, depressing statements, and other things that had nothing to do with the site!
Well, that's what MODs are for, right? Granted, the Head Admin for that site was main one introducing his personal issues with the rest of the members. If things get out of hand, a simple /BAN, /KICK, etc. would necessary. I'm not saying users can't talk about trivial things, like school or work or their daily life, because that's mainly what a chatbox is for, yes? But if the chatbox is still ignored, or proves to do more harm than good, feel free to relocate it again.
