Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

"Ok." she said looking at him and then back down at her menu. She really didn't eat a lot of meat but she saw the veal on the menu, Hmm, that looks good. she thought looking it over. "Yeah he must have but then again its also a good thing too because it gives you not only a variety of menu but of prices too." she said looking out the window now.

"Well when I was a baby he used to take me on auror missions with him." she said laughing a bit. "My mutti was so mad when she found out where he took me." She looked at Emil to gauge reaction at that. Most people seemed shocked in their lives when they heard of her doing stuff like that.

"Were you scared on the missions?" Emil asked. This was probably the first time that someone wasn't shocked. In truth, he knew of people who took their kids to dangerous lands. His father and mother being two of them. "I'm one of those people with parents like that, too. My father used to take me to the logging area, my mother taking me to the mines afterwards. They believed that they'd have to show their child a ton of work for him to come out right. Well, what resulted is me, someone who hates work. It doesn't surprise me when people do that to their kids, knowing that it happened to me. Somehow, we managed an upper middle class life because we all worked". Emil's parents had strong work ethic which involved showing the kids how it was done from an early age.

The waiter came, and Emil placed his order. He looked over at Christy, "What will m'lady be having this evening?"

"Actually some of them I don't really remember." she said looking at him. "He had started taking me with them from the time I could even hold my head up on my own. So by the time I got old enough to know what they were I was excited when I got to go." she finished saying now listening to him speak. Scarily enough she liked listening to him speak as much as she did herself, which was weird for her. It wasn't them trying to teach her work ethic, no. Her father wanted her to follow in his footsteps sincce up until recently she was an only child. It was her father's wish for her to take over the ministry after him and she would do it.

Christy glanced back at the menu. "I think I'll have the veal with the side salad no dressing please." she said and the waiter took their menus.

"Well, I always hated the work I was forced to do. I was forced to do the jobs that no one else wanted, like disposing of wastes. No one wanted to dispose of wastes from the logging site, such as the animals crushed in the machinery. I also had the tiniest hands, so there I went. I cleaned out so many animals from the machines that I forgotten what the living versions looked like" Emil replied, "I was also responsible for helping clean the tailing ponds. I got so sick, no one thought I'd make it past the age of 15". It was surprising how stoic Emil seemed to be through talking about his forced labor.

He looked at the candle in the middle of the table and frowned. "I know, candles are nice and all, but they shouldn't be in the middle of the tables. They pose a fire hazard". He was trying to strike up a conversation with his cautious nature.

"Wow well you're really lucky." she said looking at him. She was completely confused at all that he was talking about having never had to do a day of hard work in her entire life but she still smiled and nodded like everything was ok. "If it made you sick like that then you probably shouldn't have been doing the work anyway."

She sighed seeing the candle, her breath blowing it out. "Its really in the way too." she said frowning a bit. She was having to look around it just to see his face when she wanted to look him in the eyes. "So you really are cautious aren't you?" she asked curioulsy. "I'm like a walking time bomb of probable accidents. I like doing dangerous things."

"Well, my parents showed me how to do the stuff first, then told me to do it. Many of the stuff they showed me was actually the wrong procedure. They must not have cared enough or something to show me how to do that stuff correctly, only that I did it" Emil said. His mind seemed to slip a little bit, "What kept me alive was the fact that I'd skip for a few hours. I'd skip work for a couple hours every day to make sure I could fit in some fun with friends. We played stuff like soccer. Then I was caught and brought back to the mine or logging place".

The waiter brought the food, setting it down, but the plates were switched. Instead of getting the Steak and Salad special, Emil got the veal. "I think they made a mistake...or is steak supposed to look like that?"

Christy couldn't help but laugh when they got their plates. "Nope steak is definately not supposed to look like that." she replied switching their plates. "And trust me steak is definately not on my menu for a while anyway." She smiled sweetly as she stuck her fork into her salad and put it to her mouth. She loved salad. Almost more than any other food unless it was sweets. It was amazing she wasn't a total fatty with how much junk food she could consume.

"I think what kept me alive for so long is my cousin." she said going back to what they were talking about while they were eating their food. "He always has a habit of showing up just before I do something that would be fatally stupid."

"What? A perfect thing like you on a diet? I don't believe it" Emil said, smiling. He dug his fork and knife into the steak after the plates were switched. He took a bite of the steak and his salad. They didn't taste like anything he'd ever tasted. Well, nothing did here probably, since he was used to food that was total, utter crap. The steak wasn't tough to chew, nor was it bland. It was very flavorful and made his taste buds dance.

"This is very delicious". He smiled. "Well, tell me about this...cousin of yours, do you think he's a good match for Daniel?"

"I don't diet." she said looking at him, "I'm just basically a borderline vegetarian." she explained. Heck she loved food. She was constantly eating at home or at school when she was in school. She took a bite of veal. It wasn't the best she had ever eaten but it wasn't the worst either. She was used to food like this so she didn't get overly excited when she went to places like this.

"I have to agree with you on that." she said looking at him, "And honestly I'm not sure." she said going to the subject of her cousin. "I haven't even spoken to him in months for anything so for all I know he could very well be dating someone now."

"Oh, I have a vegetarian friend. He told me that its very hard to resist the taste of meat. I wouldn't be able to resist it as well as anyone else could. It's a weakness" Emil said. He continued eating until he found a fly in his salad. He plucked it out and had a talk with the waiter, whom he called to the table. He went back to the table, and inspected the fly. He told the couple that the meal was free because of that.

Emil looked at Christy as she talked about her cousin, "Well, last time I saw him was at Durmstrang, he's a bright guy. But, I haven't seen him since either, I hope he's okay and not taken though. Daniel needs a man in his life; I think your cousin, if he's the right type, is the right one. You'd have to give Daniel a couple pointers on how to behave around him, though. He might drive him away".
