[ Great post, Nick! Keep it up! ]
Nerissa watched in horror as the spells Nick casted had little to no effect on the giants and could feel her mind freezing over and her heart beating so quickly that she swore it was going to break her ribcage to pieces. She raised her wand and tried to get her mind to WORK for once while she was in a stressful situation, but the only spell that would come to mind was useless- she spoke the incantation and flicked her wand anyway, “Arania Exumai”. Why on earth did a spider killing curse have to be the only spell that came to mind!? Nerissa looked over at Nick- only to watch with wide eyes as the closest giant knocked Nick backwards into a tree, causing his head to collide with it. She covered her mouth in shock; sure she wasn’t very fond of the boy and she did had hallucinations about seeing him injured, but she didn’t want him killed. (lol)
The young redhead backed up slowly when she realized that she was the only one facing the giants at the moment. Run. Run as fast as your feet will carry you and we’ll tell someone else to come back at get Nick, Nerissa’s thoughts ordered her, but she only considered it for a second, No, I’ve already made up my mind, this might help me get over it. Nerissa felt her back touch a tree and she realized that she couldn’t back up an further to escape the nearing creature. Her lips quivered, and her words were shaky when she spoke, but it was a miracle she had even managed to speak when shaking so violently, “Please go away,” she begged the giant. Oh yeah, wow, what a brilliant plan.
The giant extended its arm slowly towards Nerissa, but being cornered, she had no way of escaping his huge fingers as he curled them around her midsection and pulled her rapidly into the air. “Let me go!” she whimpered, squirming and kicking as much as she could. She still had her wand in her hand, but her arms were pinned to her sides and it was rather hard for her to aim her wand at the beast. She looked down and saw that if she moved only a inch closer to the thing that she could point her wand directly at his foot. But what spell would she use? She didn’t know and she didn’t care, she just wanted the thing to put her down, and so she opened her mouth and shouted the first spell that popped up in her head, “Diminuendo!”
She had gotten lucky.
A bright spark of color erupted from the tip of her wand, and having aimed for the beast’s foot, almost instantly after speaking the incantation his foot began to shrink rapidly. The creature looked down at his foot, clearly shocked and confused, and started to shake his leg about in an attempt to stop what was going on. This caused him to fall over onto his side slowly like a falling tree- which just so happened to be one of the most terrifying experiences Nerissa had ever lived through. The giant’s body collided with the ground and the world shook, Nerissa was sure of it. Her brain rattled in her head and she could feel herself becoming dizzy; it had been too fast of a fall and the impact had been too much for her- but he had released her from his grip when he had fallen, and that was her chance to escape his hand.
Nerissa climbed out of his palm and quickly ran over to Nick as fast as possible, stumbling every other step because of the dizziness she was experiencing, “Nick, come on get up,” she hissed as she crouched down next to Nick, “I need your help!” she added, hoping that this would get him to stand.
