Jack laughed. "My parents and I don't usually correspond, but when we do they'd rather me use muggle technology. Therefore, I always use an owl." She grinned. "Keeps them from replying too often."

"Yeah my parents started to get used to muggle technology a few years ago and they both have emails now. They also get into my social networking stuff. It's annoying," he said smiling and then saw chip leave.

Jack laughed, not really knowing what that was like. She tried to avoid her parents, and they returned the favor. She said, "You like your parents then?" Because even though he sounded annoyed, they sounded like they really cared.

"Yeah, but they get on my damn nerves," he said jokingly and grinning "I still love them. What about you? If you don't mind me asking." He had never talked about family with Jack before and wondered if he wasn't heading into a bad area.

Jack shrugged. "My brother Riley and my Uncle Chip are really all I need. My parents are really ignorant and look down on everyone who isn't like them. That includes magical people." She shrugged. "We stopped seeing eye to eye when I was about three." She chuckled. "I stopped considering them my parents around eight." She shrugged. "When I got my letter, I had to go to Uncle Chip just to go to Hogwarts. Since then, my parents and I don't even really acknowledge each other."

Andrew listened to Jack as she explained her story "I'm sorry to hear that," he said calmly "but I'm glad you still have family to talk to."

Jack grinned. "Nothing to be sorry about. I have Riley, my brother, and my uncle, and I have everyone here. My parents are real gits anyway. They just irritate me." She laughed good-naturedly, to prove that she really was fine.

Andrew nodded and laughed. He couldn't help but wonder what could have caused her to stop considering them as her parents. Must've been something pretty bad. He shook off the thought and then looked back at Jack. "So what are you doing over the summer?" he asked trying to forget the subject of family now.

Jack shrugged. She had kind of been avoiding thinking about summer. She planned to find any excuse to not go home. "I'll probably take Louis up on that offer to go to Shell Cottage, maybe spend a few weeks in Diagon Alley. I can stay at the Leaky Cauldron, y'know. What about you?"

"I'm just gonna relax in the states go test out my new motorcycle, see some movies. Also, you can stay over at my place if you want. I just got this new suite out in NYC." He said and then dodged an owl that had been flying like crazy around the tower. Must've tried to find a way out.
