Gotta Keep In Touch

Jack rushed over to find Andrew sprawled on the ground on his back, groaning in pain, yet attempting to assure her that he was fine. She cringed and kneeled next to him as he slowly sat up, looking like he was in pain. "Are you sure? That did not sound like something that you walk away from feeling fine." She shook her head. "You sure are taking a beating today."

Andrew shook his head rapidly to get rid of the ringing noise in his head. He lifted himself up and then said "I'm fine. But whatever that was, was definetly not a Hippogriff. Something larger." He pushed himself up to his feet and then looked up at the hatch, and suddenly, a large shadow flew over him and was gone almost immediatly. "I guess it's still flying around then," he said calmly yet still feeling pain. "And I'm used to the beatings. I am the leader of an underground resistance after all."

Jack glanced up confusedly as they were bathed in the shadow of what was probably the unidentified creature that had made the mysterious noise that had spooked all of the owls. Andrew managed to stand and Jack looked over at him. She grimaced at his words and shook her head. "Still looked painful."

She turned her head back up to the hatch and wished she could see what was flying around out there. "That is so strange...What is it?" She scrunched her eyebrows together, completely perplexed. "Huh."

Andrew looked back up and tried to see if he could make out a form, yet with no such luck. "Maybe it's a griffin or something," he commented trying to analyze it's shape and sound to match it was a likely candidate "but still, it'd big and it spooks the owls. Not good at all." He turned back to Jack and then said "We might as well go check it out, and see what it is exactly. We probably already learned about it in Care of Magical Creatures or something."

Jack continued to stare upwards for a minute as Andrew commented that it might be a griffin or something. If it was a griffin, what was it doing here? Heck, why was anything that big flying around Hogwarts like it owned the place. It was quite worrying, whatever it was. Suddenly, she realized Andrew was talking to her again.

She looked at him. "What?" He had said something about going and checking it out. She nodded. "Oh, yeah. Good idea. Once we see it we'll actually be able to figure it out." She made a sweeping motion. "Lead the way."

Andrew nodded in agreement and then turned invisible with just one thought of his mind. He really loved this ability. He quickly grabbed onto the handle bars of the ladder and began to pull himself up, one rung after another until he made it to the top of the ladder. Taking no chances like last time, he slowly turned his head left and right, making sure that the creature had snuck up on him again. After careful inspection, Andrew pulled himself up to the roof of the owlery and then began to look around, searching for the unidentified flying creature. "It's alright up here," he said "you can come up now." He heard another screech of the creature and immediatly pulled out his wand, getting ready for another assault.

Jack began after Andrew when he was a few rungs ahead of her, but she paused when she heard the screech. She pulled out her wand and held it aloft, just in case the beast was hostile. She followed after Andrew, or where she thought Andrew must be, him having gone invisible.

Finally she reached the top and she gave Andrew a few seconds to situate himself before she followed, clambering into the sunny sky outside. She got to her feet and spun in a slow circle, trying to find the elusive creature, her wand held out.

Andrew turned back to where he could be seen by the human eye and began to spin slowly to find the creature. Whatever it was, it liked to toy with them. He began to wonder if this thing could be some kind of legendary creature, but then figured it was probably just a creature that had escaped from the Care of Magical Creatures area. Still, it had attacked Andrew before, so he wanted to make sure. After circling for a few moments, Andrew heard another shriek and quickly turned towards the source. It looked almost like a giant eagle and had it's talons extended towards Andrew. Andrew jumped out of the way, but his jacket had been torn up a bit more as it's talons, hit his back as it swooped down towards him. "I think it figures us as it's dinner!" he said and felt a stinging pain on his back.

Jack had just opened her mouth to say to Andrew that she did not see the creature when suddenly, an eagle-like beast swooped down on them. Jack dropped to the ground, hands clutching to the surface of the roof. She heard the tearing and shredding sound of fabric and she moved her face to look up at Andrew.

It had torn his jacket to near tatters and by the looks of it, had grazed his back to. She rolled to a crouch and turned to look around. "Hey, are you okay? What was that, an over sized eagle?"

"I dunno," he exclaimed feeeling the stinging grow more powerful by the second. He tried to shrug it off and did after a few seconds, but was more concerned with that eagle thing. He couldn't see anything due to the nighttime darkness- wait that was it! "Lumos!" he said with his wand pointed upwards. A shroud of light then appeared over the two and now had a better sight of the eagle. It looked like a hippogriff, yet it's feathers were dark, which he figured made it easier to hunt. "See if you can cast immobolus on it!" he said
