Working Out in the Fitness Center

Khaat was accustomed to working out, and the rain outside kept her from going running. So she had taken to using the fitness center in the basement of St. Mungos. It was a light, bright, airy facility that she had spent a lot of time in.

She had begun with a lot of stretching, and had advanced to a walk on the treadmill that had turned into a run. It felt good to run again. Made her feel alive. She had been so restricted for so long, it felt like a bird allowed to fly again after weeks and weeks in a cage. She wasn't sure where the heck she had been, but it felt good to get back to herself again. She wanted to find out how far she could go. She used to be able to do several miles. She didn't know how much shape she had lost. But she was going to try to find out.

Steven had woke feeling rather stiff and he knew that was no good for him , thinking bck to what Khaat had dsia he aperated to St Mongos his gym bag in hand and dresed in a lose pir of flannel trousers and white no sleeve teeshrt and jacket with blue trainers , walking he son found the fitness center in the basement of St. Mungos. Pleacing his bag into a locker he hung his jacket there to then finaly moved into teh room , he smiled seeing Khaat already there but chose to work out on the mats.

Standing facing a mirror he began streaching to loosen off his mucles with each streach he could feel his tension loosen "your looking good Khaat "he said as he sunk down into the splits on the soft matted floor , before leaning forward and turning his head to face her.

"Thanks," she said, "I needed the run. I used to run every day, and I just quit. So, eventually, I'm going to need the strength if I am going to have any sort of easy labor and delivery. So--whether Rob likes it or not, I am not going to just hook my butt to the sofa until August. I want to see if I can do any of the distance running I used to do. So I'm just testing myself to see how far I can go. So far so good. Done...oh, about 2 miles. "

Seven smiled sitting up as he streached "thats a fare distance , but ya know ya should not push ya self paticulary with abby growing" pulling himself to a stand he started his tie chi gentel slow movements that grew quiker till he was moving as quick as he use to do one he stoped holding his leg in the air as he turned on the spot then quickly shifting to his other as he moved to defend against an unsen attacker.

Khaat watched his ti chi for a bit, and started thinking about offering classes on various styles of fitness. She noticed as she hit her 3rd mile mark she was starting to feel a bit winded. It frustrated her. She tried to push through it, but it didn't help. She finally gave up and slowed down to a walk for a bit. She didnt like not being at her typical 5 miles. It bothered her. And she was starting to think she might not get back to five miles until sometime in the fall. That was even more frustrating.

Steven looked over at her seeing her slow down "you know the are other ways to keep fit that won't harm abby" he said slowly turning to face her his brreathing slowl and presise "runnings good but with ya getting bigger ya need to slow it down and think in a slower pace" he stopped and shook himself out before walking over to her "how are ya at ti chi?" he asked with a smirk as he lent on the walking machine.

"Never tried it," she admitted. "I'm always willing to learn though. Let me get a drink of water first, and then you can show me. It looks easy enough. Looks like its all about the control rather than the exertion. That might be a good alternative. I won't be running any distance by August. That's for sure."

steven smild "it is about control ,controling your body and mind I use it to destress and warm up before my ushuall practice but im guessin i'll be amight bit short fo awhile." he chuckeld "sure ya need to kep fluids up " he moved to sit cross legged on the mat as he waited for her to get her drink then return , he focused his mind on his breathing slightly meditating like he had done in the hospital room that day his mind focused on his breathing and all his muscles.

'Well, now, meditation I already know," she sighed. "I am a seer, you know." She took a drink from her water bottle and closed it back up again. "So are we meditating, or are we doing something?" She laughed. She wasn't dissing meditation. She knew of its values and used it herself. But that was not what she came here for. She came her to test her limits. To get a baseline of where she needed to start working to get back in shape. And meditation was not going to do that for her.

steven chuckled " I use it to mentaly focuse" he said standing up smiling ith his arms folded "well come here and watch" he said standing with his legs slightly apart , slowly he rotated hs arms while turning his body making sure his breathing remained the same "if ya catch on I might let ya spar with me" he grinned "might, this will enhance both physical and emotional well-being." he slowly turned to face her " it also used to improve body awareness and enhance strength and coordination" he glanced at her watching her cosely.
