At the Market

"That's perfect. Just stop by at dinner time, then. I'll look forward to it, " Khaat smiled. "And I definately want some more of your produce. I know I need potatoes, and I might add to my apple order. About half a dozen tomotoes, some carrots, celery and onions. That might do it for this week, unless you have any peaches. I promised the kids some peach cobbler."

"I have all of those including peaches." Calista said smiling as she grabbed the things that Khaat needed. She grabbed a few bags so that she can separate them and so that nothing would get squished.

"Wonderful. Thank you so much. I think I can manage this by myself, actually." Khaat paid Calista for the produce. "I will see you tonight, then. Come on, Archangel, lets go home."

OOC: Why don't you pick up the next post when you close up the market and come to the house?

Calista closed up her stand packing all of her produce except the things that she was to bring to Khaat's home that evening. With everything packed up she sent it back to her house then picked up the things that she would take to Khaat's. She handled everything with grace even with her long black traveling cloak bundled tightly around her. Calista found Khaat's house and knocked on the door waiting for someone to answer.


((OOC: Sorry it took so long for me to post my days at work got switched and i've barely had time to get on here.))

Khaat opened, the door, expecting Calista. "Come in! Come in and make yourself at home. You're just in time. Dinner's ready. It seems my kids are gone tonight, so it will just be a girls night in. But that's fine by me." Khaat took her coat and hung it up. "Have a seat. I'll get you some tea to warm up with." Khaat went into the kitchen to get the tea.

"Thank you very much for letting me come to your home. It is very beautiful." Calista said as she looked around smiling thinking how beautiful her house truly was. 'This reminds me of when i was a little girl in France. Everything's so warm and inviting.' She thought to herself sighing. Calista sat down in her sitting room still looking around smiling feeling like she was at home, though it was not her home.

Khaat brought her tea in one of the large handthrown stoneware mugs that her mother had made. Khaat had always liked the bright cheerful colors of the mugs and how the kept tea warm for hours. "I think you'll like this," Khaat said, "My father actually blends it. He's a potionsmaster, but he likes to blend teas. I think he does it so that he can hide some of those nasty tasting potions in some really great teas. This one is a cherry vanilla tea, and has hint of almond in it somewhere in the background. I like it on cold nights like this one. Dinner should be ready in a minute." She handed Calista the mug.

"Ah thank you so much." Calista said sipping at the tea smiling as she felt the warmth of the tea rush through her. She felt more relaxed as she continued to drink the tea, "I always wanted to make my own teas then sell them at the market but i don't know how to do it quite yet."

"Well, maybe you could either learn from my father or sell some of his teas. You might be able to make some arrangement with him," Khaat suggested. "I'll be right back." She left the room long enough to dish up dinner. She had prepared a wonderful thick dish of chicken and homemade noodles, with some of the fresh vegetables she had bought at the market from Calista. Fresh carrots, celery, and onions in the noodles, with some mashed potatoes to go with the chicken and noodles. She had prepared a chopped salads with several kinds of lettuces, roasted candied pecans, with blue cheese and a wonderful dressing. She had made homemade buttermilk biscuits with a fresh compound herb butter. For dessert, she had fixed a peach cobbler with fresh homemade vanilla bean ice cream. It didn't take more than a moment to set the table.

"I think we're ready to eat, Calista," Khaat called. "Come help yourself. I thought perhaps some old fashioned comfort food might be just the thing on such a cold night."

"That sounds really good to me. Comfort food sounds nice to me." Calista said smiling at her. She stood up and walked over to get some food.
