Potions - year 1-5

Jessica walked in she was nerviouse enouph at the start of a new term , walking past the board she wanved her wand and on it apeared some writing :

"Welcome to potions with proffessor Jessica Darkangel.

Potions are magical liquids created by mixing various ingrediants in a couldren according to very specific rules.

These mixtures must usually be drunk to give there magical effect .

The ingrediants in potions range from the mundane to the bizarre and fantastic , and the proceedures for creating some potions can be time consuming and complicated

This term you will be learning how to make and store:

The Swelling Solution,
Hair-Raising Potion
Shrinking Solution

along with the usuall antidotes and Wit-Sharpening Potion. ."

Moving she sat down at her desk ,taking out a spoon and a small potions bottle , this was the nosier potion Khaat had given her , taking out a small flask and a cup she pored out some tea then poring a spoon she stirred it into it and sat waiting for her students.

Like for Vincent Majere's lesson, Miseria was the first one who showed up. She smiled at Jess when she entered the classroom, again making the face like everything was fine. Khaat gave her this potion what could make her sleep better but she had no time last night so she woke up this early morning paler than usual and again with need to commit a suicide. Though, she was still alive, one part of her mind was considering it. World would be better place without her!

“Good morning, Jess!“ she said. Although, she was one of her friends now, she wasn't sitting on the first row so they could've talk about what ever they want. For Miseria, the middle row was great enough for this lessons. And potions... Ahh! She loved those things! Boiling water and color changing... Some of them were dangerous, they can even kill, but some of them, like Felix Felixis could bring great luck.

Elijah was second to class again but this time he didn't have to leave as early seeing as it was in his neck of the woods. Eli opened the door of the dungeon classroom and closed it with a bang behind him. He winced and heard the door groan, wondering how many times in its life had it been banged open and shut again.

"Professor." Eli nodded in greeting and walked to the nearest desk at the back of the class and seated himself there. He threw his bag under his table but not before taking out his books and sketch pad. Elijah took his pencil out from behind his ear and began to doodle some things, charming them each time he finished a drawing.

Abbey walked into the classroom and saw Professor Darkangel sitting behind her desk, and Elijah and Miseria. "Hey guys!" she said, waving to Elijah and Miseria. "And good morning Professor Darkangel." she said. Abbey found a seat in the second row of the classroom and set her books down.

Willow walked through the doors and into the Potions classroom. "Ello chums!" she waved to everyone and then sat down next to Abbey, taking out her books and placing them on her desk. She smiled and waited for everyone else.

Abbey looked up as Willow entered the classroom. "Hey Willow! Wow, it feels like I haven't seen you in forever!" she exclaimed. Abbey leaned over her desk so she could talk to Willow better. "So how were your winter holidays?" she asked, taking out a quill.

Noah slumped into class, trying his best not to be noticed. It had been his strategy since first year, and it had worked astoundingly well, half the people in his year didn't know his name. But as he looked over the people in the class, he groaned inwardly. Not only a new teacher, but of the 3 kids there, 2 were in his house and 2 in his year. His chances of remaining anonymous dropped from about 70% to 20%.

Haley thought she was running late to class but noticed that she wasn't once she got there, she only noticed five other students. Finding a seat in the back she say down, pulling her stuff out of her bag.

jessica watched as her student all arrived all on time , she was suprised "morning miseria" she said smiling "hello Elijah, please don't slam the door unless you wish me to go into early labour" she said standing and walking from behind her desk to face them all "Good morning Abby, you too willow"she glanced at the class seeing a boy sat quiet "Morning Noah."

she was about to talk when yet another student entered " Haley , ok now were going to pair up for this lesson, Abby you'll be with Elijah, Willow with Haley, Miseria would you please pair with Noah"

moving to her board the words changed as she waved her wand .

Boil cure potion a simple potion to cure boils.

ingredients:
Dried nettles,
Crushed snake fangs,
Stewed horned slugs,
Porcupine quills (added after taking the cauldron off the fire)

Turning to her desk she took out her wand she cast "incendo" under her coldren and it burst into flame.

Briony wasn't late, exactly, just a little time-impaired. She had wanted to be at class earlier, but certain obstacles (cough-distractions) had gotten in the way. Once she had gotten to the Potions classroom, however, she saw that there weren't many people she knew very well. She settled quietly into a spot at the very back of the room.
