Elijah was completely incoherent to anyone but Amelia - or at least it seemed that way. He knew Nachash had been hissing at him for a while but he was walking on clouds and couldn’t quite grasp exactly why he was feeling that way. He’d kissed her so what was the big deal? It wasn’t as if he was new to it but he felt as if he had just found new land or something to that effect. It was the sense of discovery and adventure which was swelling inside of him as well as something else which he wasn’t quite sure how to identify.
It was if something was completely engulfing him making any other emotion completely pointless seeing as one made all of them pale in comparison. Whatever it was, was directed at Amelia and he knew it wasn’t a negative emotion. No way. Elijah just couldn’t figure it out. Possibly due to the fact that he’d never been shown it so he couldn’t recognise an emotion found keeping the hearts of people all around the world beating.
He didn’t know what it was but what he was positive of was that woman could get anything she wanted from him. She was truly a witch, one that had him under her power. Elijah, of course, wasn’t complaining what so ever. He was relishing in it.
Perhaps he’d spent too much time in the dungeons because he did agree with Amelia. The Hall was becoming warm and it was beginning to irritate the wayward Slytherin who usually had less formal clothes on or depending on where he was he didn‘t have much else on apart from some trousers. Heck, he lost most of his uniform throughout the school day so he didn’t know, sat in his dorm, how he was going to contend with a shirt and tie.
However, that went quite well until he’d lost it on his way up from the dungeons. Another reason why he was perfectly happy in a pair of jeans and a hooded jumper tied around his waist for when it got a little chilly.
But now back onto the point once more. Elijah got to his feet and gently pulled Amelia out of her chair. He smiled down at the Ravenclaw and couldn’t help but smirk a little at her. Eli pressed a soft, loving kiss on her lips once more before muttering his goodbyes to Julia and leading Amelia out onto the balcony.
The air outside was cool and refreshing like a cool shower after a sweaty night in hot parts of the world. There was a slight breeze but not enough to make him or Amelia cold. Nether the less Eli wrapped his arms around Amelia’s waist and pulled her closer to him. She’d still get the cool breeze that would run over her but she’d have the warmth behind her. If that made any sense what so ever.
But there was trouble brewing. Elijah could feel it under his skin and he didn’t like that nagging feeling that something bad was going to happen. Nachash knew it to and he could feel her becoming skittish. There was something in that breeze that told the both of them that Hogwarts was most definitely not the safest place in the world anymore.
For the first time in his life, Elijah found himself wishing to be in his parents’ presence. The reassurance from his father would sooth him and the screams of bloody murder from his mother would make him laugh. As much as he hated the both of them he loved them equally.
His father with his brooms which always seemed to come at Christmas, Birthdays and any other time of the year drove Elijah insane but the sketch books and oil paints made up for it. The man was always looking for acceptance in his son and he was finally starting to gain a little bit - even if he wasn’t aware of the fact.
His mother was the craziest woman he’d ever come across and he’d met many. Despite being a banshee she loved her kids in a weird sort of way. Sure she hated Eli with a passion but it was that mutual hatred between them that made it into some strange sort of love. The flaming banshee was insufferable but he loved her anyway. It was just the way it went.
It was that, that he yearned for, for those few meagre seconds until Nachash reminded him that he shouldn't be wistful. He had a chance. One that was hanging by a thing bit of thread and it was a chance he was going to take full advantage of and hope to keep. He wasn’t going to sit back and wait for things to play out at all. Something was looming and he didn’t like it.
‘I will protect you always’ was teasing his tongue. He so badly wanted to say it but he wasn’t sure how or why. He knew without a doubt that there would be conviction in his words. He would always do it whether he said it out loud or not. Whatever it cost him.
Agreed. Nachash murmured.
“A beautiful sight to behold, one so rare and wonderful that it is only once you see it and forever you want to call it your own.” Elijah recited what he’d said earlier and gently kissed Amelia’s neck. The words that had been teasing his tongue fell from his lips almost immediately afterwards but Eli was glad they were in Bulgarian. For once in his life he was glad for the language and thanked Merlin or hoped that Amelia wouldn’t question him.
A time for peace, love and forgiveness but at what cost? Truly.
