Meeting of the Hogwarts Teams (Open to all Players and Subs)

Not sure who exactly the Professor had been talking to, she gave her name just incase. It was either her, or the other guy who had spoken up. Maybe even Keith- she wasn't sure, as the guy wasn't too specific with his finger angeling. "Ginevra Malenki." she couldn't remember if he was there last year as the Quiddich director or not, but either way, usually an old Quiddich Captian should have remembered that. Making a face, she took her broom and watched as the groups formed. Mounting it, she kicked off with little energy and went off towards the chasers.

Mordecai was about to bellow out instructions when a few new faces appeared, wondering what was going on.

"If you're part of the teams then mount your broom and join them. If ya don't have a broom, use one of the school ones over there." He said, nodding to the pile of old Cleansweep 7's and Comet Tails that were stacked up against the bleachers beside the heavy chest that contained the Quidditch balls.

"Let's go people! We don't have all day and I'm growing old here."

He barked the orders as he strode toward the center of the Pitch with his broomstick slung over his shoulder. He wasn't going to release the bludgers or the Quaffle until he was sure that everyone last one of them could stay on their broomsticks. It wouldn't do anyone any good if they swan dived into the grass turf below. When he finally made it to the central circle Mordecai looked up and took note as to who was already in the air. They were a motley lot to be sure, a few chasers here and a seeker or two there. The start of the season match was in four days and Mordecai could only guess how that was going to turn out seeing how each house team was missing players.

This should be interesting.

"Right! I want line formations for each position. So Chasers line up! Same with you Beaters, Seekers and Keepers! Keep two meters abreast of each other at all times. Before we do anything that requires actual thinking I want to make sure that you all can fly. Just because you have a broomstick it does not make you a bird. I want once around the Pitch per group at your top speed. Keep to a simple circular pattern. NO SHOWIN' OFF! I don't need any mid-air collisions just yet! So stay out of each other's way and spread out!The group with the fastest time gets five house point per player! Which means, you fly together and finish this together. Uniform speed at all times!" Mordecai bawled at the top of his voice as he waved everyone into their various starting points. The Pitch was large enough to accomadate the excercise and hopefully a simple exercise like flying in a circle wouldn't become too complicated.

"Beaters you fly first! Get ready!" Mordecai mounted his broom and kicked off the ground. In an instant he was in position, hovering in mid air in the center of the pitch. He was out of the line of fire and from there he could see everything that would be going on. The students all had different brooms with various speeds and this run was to see whether or not they could resist the temptation of leaving their fellow players in the dust. The broomstick meant nothing if the flier couldn't keep it together under pressure.

Balanced perfectly on the handle of his broom Mordecai kept himself aloft using his legs as an anchor while he rummaged through his robes and withdrew a silver referree whistle and a stop watch.

"SET READY! SET READY! GEEROFF!" Mordecai boomed before he blew the whistle. The Pitch was instantly filled with the shrill high-pitched sound that was the signal for the Beaters to get themselves moving. The stopwatch began to tick away the seconds.

"Chasers! Get yourselves in order! You're next!" He bellowed as his eyes followed the swift flying forms of the Hogwarts beaters.

Keith scrambled into position, blasting forward to try and get a head start. His broom wasn't very fast or even speedy, but he was convinced with enough cheating and a head start, he might be able to pull out a first place. He sped past the first set of goal posts laughing his head off. He nearly fell off his broom but managed to turn it into a slightly classy roll, making him laugh even harder.

Ne'os kept pace with the other beaters with ease he was a natrul flyer do to his ability to fly without the need with a broom.

Abbey flew with the other beaters, keeping a nice, even pace with them. She was tiring of this, but continued doing it.

Elv nooded and plced herself in the position as the coach told her to.

Christabelle lined up next to the other three seekers and looked at them curiously. She had treaded to the back of the group after the meeting had started not feeling very well.. In fact she felt extremely ill but didn't want to leave since she knew it would set a bad example on her as a captain of a team.

Mariana floated next to Christabelle some few feet away confused at the scene. "Any idea what escatly are we doing?I am not supposed to seek you am i?" she asked looking around at what others were doing.

Formation flying. How fun.

Much as Selwyn wanted to hate this new coach - For making him hang out with the other teams when he could have been working on his devious plan to take over the school. For forgetting to send him an owl personally when everyone else had got one. For being from the boring side of the world. Hell, just for being a quidditch coach who was actually enthusiastic about his job. Didn't he know he was being paid to teach first years how to fly, release the balls at the house games and then sit in his office all day drinking firewhiskey?

Anyway, much as Selwyn wanted to hate the guy, formation flying was actually a halfway decent drill. Which, of course, only made Selwyn hate Unpronounceable Name more, because he ought to have been the moron Selwyn had taken him for.

He lined up with the others and kicked off. If he knew his peers (and he did) this was going to be a complete shambles.
