Abbey gave Skye a strange look, wondering what the heck was up with her? Abbey shook her head and sighed. She had more important matter to take care of.....most importantly what she was going to do with her father's body.

Abbey looked at herself in the mirror and dabbed away another tear. She couldn't cry today. She had to be strong for Allie. She flattened down the wrinkles in her dress and walked into the backyard. Her father's casket was already there. Her aunt and uncle had paid for all of the expenses of the funeral. Abbey and her sister Allie had inherited many of her father's most precious items, seeing as he had already written a will because life was so dangerous right now. Abbey sat down on a folding chair in the backyard, staring at the casket, biting her lip so she wouldn't cry.

Christabelle had walked into the yard where she had left just days ago thinking everything was going to be alright. She had been wrong, she blamed herself for not seeing it happen. She walked up to Abbey wearing a white dress. For white was originally the color of mourning. She put her arms around her, "It'll be alright yes?" she asked looking at her.

Abbey tried to nod, feeling the tears in her eyes again. Christy was such a good friend to her. Abbey gave her a hug, and this time let the tears flow freely. "D..d..don't let Allie see my like this." she said, sniffiling. "She'll get upset too."

"Mutti said she can keep her if you don't want her to come here." she said looking at her. Abbey and Allie had been staying at her house while arrangements had been made for the funeral. "I know this isn't the best time but my parents have offered to adopt the two of you, which would mean you two would live with me and Delk." she said trying to offer her friend some good news in such a horrible time.

Matt stood in the shadows so nobody would see him. He was wearing some old robes with gloves that covered him whole.

Abbey looked up and composed herself again. "Come, come inside." Abbey said, opening the sliding glass door. "We have refreshments if you want any." she said, picking up a tray of punch and a tray of tiny sandwiches with toothpicks sticking out of them.

"You shouldn't be doing that." Christy said taking the trays from her. "Have you eaten today?" she asked her friend worriedly. She didn't want to say anything but it looked like Abbey hadn't eaten or slept in the last few days, not that she could blame her. "You should eat something before everyone else shows up. Let me play hostess for a while."

Abbey nodded, sitting down on a chair. "Thanks so much Christy, I don't know what I'd do without you!" Abbey took a small turkey sandwich and nibbled on it. She knew she should eat, but wasn't hungry. Abbey rubbed her eyes, trying not to smear her make-up successfully.

Christy put the tray down and fixed Abbey a small plate of the fruit that had been sitting on the table and handed it to her and a glass of punch. "Here I know you need more than that." she said as Abbey rubbed her eyes, she had been right she was tired. "You don't have to eat it all, just what you can, ok?"
