Resting (Allana)

Sterling was hanging out by the side of the lake. He had long since renounced his old habit of incessant studying, he now spent time on his own, gazing into the lake often. He grabbed a rock and skipped it across the surface of the water. It skipped four times before it fell in with a plunk.

He raised his wand, sending sparks in various directions, doodling in the air idly. He had been feeling so empty lately... since exams were over he had nothing to fill the void with. He considered running to the library and studying a topic of his choice for pleasure. Charms were always fun...

Allana sat behind a rock close by staring down at a boy who was doodling in the air with his wand. Ohh, he was a looker. Grinning to herself she glanced down at herself. She would never be able to actually get a guy, but the flirting process was always fun. She had a way of making guys go silent when she walked past. She got up carefully. She wore simple jeans with a tear over the knee and a black button up shirt with a small show of green underneath. She put on an innocent face. Beautiful, but deadly. Without really caring, she walked over bored. Looking down at him she smirked. "What are you doing?"She asked her voice icy, her eyes even more. Even smirking it didn't quite reach her eyes. They seemed dead, and that was that. "What is someone like you doing all alone out on the grounds?"She asked bending over to look at him.

Sterling looked up at the girl. It was odd how often he found himself talking to girls now... but hardly ever talking to any guys. "Oh nothing," he said simply. She looked very innocent and somehow confused about something. A casual elegance and beauty. It lured him in... but he was now rather used to people like that. He forced himself to look away and talk to her normally.

"I'm not doing anything really, I'm just kind of bored." he chanced another look upward and closed his eyes tightly and looked away. It was a mistake to look again.

Allana laughed softly, a cold laugh, something you'd expect to hear in a movie. She sat down on the ground next to him. He seemed troubled and it delighted her. His little glances and looks away showed he was hurt somehow. Possibly by someone who looked like her. This made her want to laugh with glee. His pain made her giddy. "Aww, bored?"She asked touching his arm and drawing circles with her finger. "I could fix that."She said with a grin at him. "No one should ever be bored when I'm around."She said smiling at him innocently.

Sterling stayed where he was. The circles she drew on his arm sent tickling jolts of electricity through his arm. He had been treated similarly to this before. He glanced toward her, and a look of overwhelming beckoning innocence was etched on her face. He smiled at her.

"Never?" he asked playfully, as if struggling to find a loophole. "Well what did you have in mind?" he asked her.

"Oh I don't know."She said glancing him over. She could tell right away that he was a Ravenclaw. She grinned again, her favourite part about this entire thing was how sad he seemed to be. The fact that he was bored, he really was quite a looker, and she was happy to take him under wing. "oh I don't know."She said still drawing circles on his arm with her finger. He seemed distant also. This made her so happy she could have jumped up and shouted. But she stayed where she was sitting next to him smiling. "What is you're name?"She asked softly rocking slightly as though she was just the most innocent little thing. Even though she was a lot older than him. She could tell right away, he would grow up to be quite a man. Maybe she could even like him one day.

Her seeming innocence drove him inward to her. She was a year older than him, but then again, so was Chase. So was Cat. He stared at her, transfixed and unsure what to do next.

"Sterling Silver," he answered automatically as she asked his name. He seemed was uncomfortable with the situation, angry with himself for allowing himself to be drawn in by somebody else again. He didn't notice as his jaw slackened and his eyes watered when he gazed at her.

Allana couldn't help it. She giggled with glee, his face was priceless! She had drawn him in like a fish on a hook! Or, how about this, drawn him in like a Dragon with a Quidditch player, oh yes, she liked that one much better, much bloodier. "I am Allana Parker."She said with a mischievous grin at him. His eyes were glazed his mouth open as he stared at her. She flicked her hair over her shoulder, throwing the smell of flowers over him.

"It is nice to meet you Sterling Silver."She said giggling with glee. That was to easy! Well, maybe to easy. She put up her guard right away. No man could fall for a girl that quickly, unless he had something wrong with him. OH! Maybe he was recovering from a bad relationship! That was why he was all, misty eyed, over her. Yes, that was probably it, in that case! "What house are you in Sterling Silver?"She asked blinking softly.

"Ravenclaw, I've always really like that House." Sterling said simply. It was true... he was so patriotic about it... proud of what he had been sorted into. "What House are you in?" he asked. He had pulled his gaze away from her again. She had that mask of beauty about her... the kind that he could tell was surface only. He didn't want to look at that... to be falsely tempted into wanting something he really didn't.

Then the smell of flowers hit him. He had always been partial to his sense of smell for some reason, and scents always maddened him. Stenches drove him immediately away and fragrances drew him in. He inhaled deeply, gasping a little at the smell. He looked back up at her.

Allana smiled at him when he said his house. So she was correct! She was getting good at that! "Slytherin."She said giving him a white toothy smile. "House for the proud, they call it."She said grinning. "I guess I am pretty proud."She smiled and laughed, the same cold, evil sounding laugh. "But what is a man like you doing in such a house full of...dare I say it, whimps?"She asked laughing. "You really aren't such a person are you?"She asked laying her hand gently on his arm and smiling at him, her teeth white. He had taken a deep breath, ahh, he had smelt her perfume. Lovely thing about her perfume, it was strong, but not to strong, attracting anyone's attention. And always smelling like their favourite flower, no matter what it was.
