"My...biological family..had brought me back home from the hospital after a few weeks after I was born" Izzie started. "Then suddenly there was this freak fire that happened..and I..." Izzie continued and her voice began to break.

Daniel saw that she was breaking up stopping in the middle of her story so he placed his hand on her lips then leaned in to whisper in her ears. "I don't want to hurt you by making you talk this out to me and remembering the pain of what happen" he told her and gave her a long hug.

"I was the only survivor in my family..Or so they tell me" Izzie cried, ignoring Daniel's instructions to stop. Tears ran down her face, and they kept coming. She hugged Daniel long and hard and sniffled every moment.

"The past is the past. This is the now, leave the past for now and look at the present, i cannot bear to listen or watch you cry while you remember your past and telling me about it." Daniel said annoyed a bit that she ignored his instruction to stop but was also happy she did as he hugged her warmly and hard.

"I could've had three other siblings and a mother and a father" Izzie sighed, releasing Daniel slowly from her grip. "I am adopted...and they're great but I wonder sometimes" Izzie sighed. She half smiled and pushed her hair out of her face behind her ears.

Daniel looked into her eyes half smiling as well, helping her by brushing her hair out of her eyes. "I know you could have, but at least you have your adoptive parent who loves you and took great care of you. You even have me" he told her smiling warmly at her his hands on her arms rubbing it warmly.

"Well my adoptive parent is just the orphanage owner..I pretend she's adopted me..but the truth is, I've been living with other orphans since..I don't have a family" Izzie admitted. She lied, and felt uncomfortable about it.

Daniel could tell she was lying to him but didn't push the matter forward. "Alright then. You have me" he told her his face close to her, his half livid eyes stared into hers. He smiled at her and put both his hands around her waist and onto her back.

"I don't know what it's like to have father-daughter dance or mother-daughter talks or fights with siblings" Izzie said to him. Izzie sighed and held him once more. She felt protected in his arms, close.
