"I think we should stay outside and use the shelter house if the weather holds but I've planned enough events for the Lupins over the years that I've learned not to ever do one without a backup plan for bloody everything on the list because something is going to go off the rails somewhere," he told Jack. "Thanks. I'd better keep moving. Lots to do."
He made a trip to the main house, talked to Kate who was in complete agreement. She went with Angus to the kitchen, and they talked with Zoe and Nicky and Shannon who was thrilled that Angus would ask them to prepare a celebration meal for Anise. They were loaded with ideas, and Angus told them that Aria and Ruby were intending to decorate the shelter house in blue and white. Then, he came back to the duplex, talked to Edward and Simone, had a floo conversation with Evan, another with Rosaria and Carlo, another with the jeweler to make sure the necklace would be done on time, and still another with Madame Maxime's secretary to let her know that he would need approximately 30 tickets, he presumed. She was a bit surprised at the number of tickets but since Anise was the school champion, the school had reserved one of the VIP boxes for Anise's family, but now hearing the family was bigger than they thought, the secretary reassured them that they would simply remove the divider between two of the boxes and make a double sized box to accommodate everyone.
When Angus finished making floo calls, Marcus made one to his parents to double check if they would watch the babies if sitters were hard to find. Claire and Jonathan jumped at it, and they said that they fully expected Hogsmeade to be nigh onto empty on Saturday because everyone was going to the tournament. Jonathan did put an extra word of caution into Marcus's ear and said that, because a British girl was representing Beauxbatons, Xenophilius was sending Rita Skeeter and a couple photographers to cover it for the Quibbler. Marcus rolled his eyes but thanked his father for the tip and closed the floo.
"I did not want to hear that," Angus said seriously.
"I know," Marcus said.
"I won't be able to leave Anise for a moment except if she's in the arena because I remember Harry telling us about the horrid way she was all over him at the Triwizard tournament. I do not want Anise to have to deal with her, and Sam will just try to set her on fire or something. I don't dare delegate that to Sam or Victor or Ginger. It'll have to be me. She is allowed a support person when she's not on the field, I think. I think I read that in some of the rules."
"Yes, but you realize that's more to bring her a bottle off water and that sort of thing," Marcus said. "Her support person is not expected to be her bodyguard."
"I'm her dad. That's my job to keep her safe," Angus said seriously. "Tell me you'd do something different if it was your child."
"Oh, you know I wouldn't," Marcus sighed.
