Edward took it upon himself because of the hour to go get the girls from Evan's. No one had seemed to remember to go get them, and since they didn't have their apparating license yet, neither girl could apparate or port yet. The boys were still working, and with Angus and Marcus out on whatever Caprice had taken them to do, the girls were apparently temporarily stuck at Evan's. Edward saw that Ruby and Aria were, of course, caught up with the babies again, so he simply went and fetched them himself and brought them home.
The girls went inside, and Simone brought the cookies over, along with four of Angus's sheet pans now washed clean. She got the ice cream out and made the ice cream sandwiches and wrapped each one up separately in cling film and stacked them nicely in the freezer. Smelling that the chicken and vegetables was now in danger of becoming overcooked, she took the supper out of the oven and carved both chickens and put the meat on a large serving platter. She put the roasted vegetables into one large serving bowl and got out plates and cutlery and set up the sideboard. She put the chicken and the vegetables on there too as the boys came in.
"Smells great. I'm starving," Sam said.
"Well, your dad and Marcus are out on something or another," Simone said, "but the chicken would have burned if we'd have left it much longer. Why don't you lot all come and eat, and I'll dice up some of this for the babies. Angus and Marcus can reheat some when they get home. Do you have homework tonight, Girls?"
"Potions quiz tomorrow," Anise sighed.
"Yeah, we're supposed to concoct the standard antidotes for common poisons tomorrow and demonstrate our abilities to make it, but so far, no one in the entire class has managed to make it correctly even the first time. We're going to flunk it, I just know it."
"Well, don't lose hope," Simone said. "After supper, if you ask, I'm sure Edward can help you get it right. He's very good at such things."
"Yes, well, he hasn't had us as potions students yet either," Anise sighed.
"There's a trick to that one," Sam said. "We had to make that one too at Hogwarts."
"What's the trick?"
"I don't remember," Sam said. The girls scowled at him, both aggravated.
"We'll ask Edward. Don't worry," Simone smiled. "Come eat, Ruby and Aria. The babies are fine for the moment.
As Angus and Marcus and Jack landed, they saw what looked very much like the same sort of cottage that Hagrid had had at Hogwarts. This one did appear to have another couple rooms or two cobbled onto it, but, overall, it looked the same. The fields looked like they were already plowed and ready for planting, and a very large thatched barn, and around it was a fenced corral. Angus was not the least bit surprised to see everything was Hagrid sized. It did look signficantly different than they had at Hogwarts, which largely was scaled to human size, but still, seeing it all at Hagrid size felt comforting to him.
"Hagrid!" Angus called as he went up the steps and knocked on the door. "Kate sent us." The door opened and the same old Hagrid was there with a bright smile.
"Look at you three. None of you has changed a bit," Hagrid said. "Well, come on in and let's see her. Pot of tea is on if you want some. Make yourselves at home. Cups are sitting over there on the hutch."
Marcus opened the bag and took out the jar with the fairy and handed it to Hagrid.
"Awe, poor little lass. She's all spent, she is," Hagrid said, taking the jar to the table and setting it there. He opened the jar, but the fairy had no ability to move. "Give me a second to see what we're looking at."
