So, as the school year goes on, House Points will be given and taken away, which is mostly up to teacher discretion and how often students attend classes. But there is also a new way to ensure that your house gets some extra points!
Keiran and Melissa Hayes, "The Ministry's First Success Story," as a couple are not really as successful as the outside world might think. In fact, they've got a LOT of issues, but have agreed to fill the positions of counselors for both married couples as well as any students looking for apprenticeships or just help in general. The Ministry is trying very hard to convince the parents and the Wizarding World in general that they are on everyone's side. That said, the threads will probably be just as fun for us as it will be for you guys, considering we get to watch Keiran and Millie try to answer questions when they can't even sort themselves out most days. So we're looking forward to it, too! The plotting will be wonderful, you can bet on that.
How do we get house points, you ask? Let me explain.
Go ahead and fill out this form to request a thread.
- Code:
[b]Name(s):[/b]
[b]Year(s):[/b]
[b]Counselor:[/b] One? Both? Either works. If one, please specify.
[b]Problem/Request:[/b] Want help with an apprenticeship? Having issues with another student?
As you probably noticed, the form above makes it possible for multiple students to go to a session. If two students are having issues with each other, or both want help looking for an apprenticeship, they can be in the same thread. But both must agree and attend, otherwise the thread will be dropped.
NOW! About those house points.
For
every thread that your character participates in through the Counseling program, you will get
one point per post, just like class threads! Now, if you go through a good length thread, that's a lot of points! Mind,
the usual requirements for posts apply: Word count and all. You guys know how that works! So no worries! The only thing you have to watch out for is making sure that you allow the posts to rotate as a group thread would, so each person gets a turn unless one of the members states otherwise or doesn't reply for a couple days. Spamming the thread will not get you those points we all want.
I should point out that
each character in the thread gets points, so if both students fighting have a thread, both get points for their houses. Same with couples for the law!
"So how many threads will you and Eli be posting at a time, Addie?"
Good question! It really depends on our schedules. We are both in college, so while we will also be doing personal plotting, we will do our best to keep these going. It will not, however, be like the Marriage Law, when I had seventy-five meeting threads going at once. Because that was terrifying.
We both also have professors and will have to post for their lessons, and have to keep an eye on Apps and Claims and all the rest as Eli's an Admin and I'm a Mod, so that means we can't take on a massive number even without our own personal plots. Because of this, we'll start
three a week at most, and after
four pages, we will wrap up the threads so that we can continue to run the sessions and you can get those points! This is mostly so we can rotate through threads and not ignore anyone. If you wish to have another thread later, we welcome you to request them, but note that we would appreciate it if you either choose a different character or wait at least a month. We'll only do two characters per person at a time to keep it fair. Even still, two characters having a thread a month will get you quite a good amount of points, so worry not!
And yes, it's
first come first serve like appointments at a doctor's office or usual guidance counselor would. So if you want to start planning with people for these threads, feel free, and we'll start them once the school year gets going. You won't have to keep up with the points, either, as we'll add them to the list ourselves. The points will be added after each page, that way they're being updated often but not every time someone posts. :3
Most likely, the threads will either be labeled by number or by the student(s) attending, so they can be found easily by the participants. Any questions can be posted here or PM'd, though I'd prefer PM so that we can easily find the requests on this thread.
Oh. And one last thing. Because there are two of us posting most of the time, it would be best to have your character knock or something along those lines for your first post, so that if we haven't both posted our first posts by the time you want to reply, we can catch up and then get it going! Or, if there are two of you, have one knock and maybe the other meet them outside? Whatever works. It would be super helpful for us if it went that way.
So! Feel free to PM around and start requesting threads, but remember those rules and it will all work out just fine.
To answer some questions:
1. If you PM us an idea, you should still post the form once we approve it so we can add you to the schedule.
2. I'll keep a calendar based on forms turned in and threads finishing. If a thread isn't replied to by all student parties for a week, it will be dropped.
