Keiran wasn't sure if he should be considered lucky for having the first meeting on his own, or if he actually wished Millie was there to remind him of all the changes in the past year. Either way, he was due to meet with a first year Ravenclaw, so he wasn't at all sure what to expect. It wasn't like the man had ever tried to do anything even remotely similar to counseling before, after all. Even if he had, he didn't understand children very well, and wasn't sure how he was supposed to handle the one coming to meet with him.
In her form, she had written down something about her parents, but he wasn't exactly following it. Clearly, it would take some talking to the girl in question for Keiran to get some idea of what the problem was. Maybe, in the end, he would be able to actually come out of the counseling sessions and know a little bit about how to handle kids. After speaking to Avery and Robin, and finding out that he was a godparent, Keiran supposed that it would do for him to actually know a little bit about that topic.
Opening the door to the Guidance Office, he couldn't help but remember that his own meeting had been held in that very room, according to his wife. He couldn't recall, because of his accident, but he doubted it was any fun at the time. The room was rather cold, which he decided would have to be remedied by hanging pictures or at least bringing in a plant of some kind. It was too sparse, too white-walled and clean. Sitting behind the desk, Keiran looked over his list of meetings for the day while he waited for the girl to arrive.
