Counseling [House Points Available!!]

Technically, Keiran and Millie only work with students. They could meet with him in a general, friendly capacity if he wanted to talk about things. Or just Keiran could, since Eli is sort of busy right now. But if he wants to do legit counseling, Teddy counsels at St. Mungo's. It's sort of the Hayes couple here or Teddy there, but the Hayes do more of student issues stuff now that the Marriage Law isn't a thing anymore. If Selwyn felt comfortable talking to the Deputy HM in that way, that would be one thing. But Keiran is definitely under-qualified XD

@Dakota - Keiran definitely is getting better at playing the father figure, so he wouldn't mind meeting with her. He obviously doesn't know her story, so it would take her being willing to explain. If that works for you, we can set something up. I'll admit to being a little slow to reply to threads, so I apologize in advance if it takes me a day or two to reply sometimes. I'll try to keep up well, though. You're welcome to start it if you want to have her knock or whatever the case. Or I can have him in there if you don't want to do that.

It's really up to what your character would do. If he trusts Keiran enough to ask for advice, that's cool. But it wouldn't need to be in the guidance office. Keiran wouldn't feel like he had the... I hate to use the word 'superiority' or something, but he wouldn't be sure he was able to deal with it was something other than a friend, if that makes sense?

You just don't want him to go to the office? Of course Selwyn wouldn't go to the office.

I thought this was about threads relating to your character's counselling, not just going to the office.

Selwyn would just be looking for the advice from someone with psychological knowledge, kind of thing.

That wasn't really what I was worried about, but it's true that Keiran wouldn't meet with him there. It would feel too formal. I meant to point out that Keiran has literally no training, and prefers Transfiguration over counseling. He just does it because the Ministry told him to, and they feel obligated to keep it up at least for the year. After which, it might go away. Keiran would not be remotely qualified as a legitimate counselor. But he can do friendly advice.

You prioritise what's realistic for your character. I prioritise what's fun for me to write about.

So I'm sitting here thinking "I just want to write a thread about Selwyn going to counselling and it being super awkward and hilarious" while you're thinking "that would be totally unrealistic, Keiran would never agree to that."

Would it be more realistic if Selwyn just barged into his office and started venting?

Yeah, sorry. I will accidentally forget about threads if I don't know why my character would do certain things, if that makes sense. I have trouble finding the muse to keep replying, mostly. But yeah, if he walked on in and just went after it, Keiran would do what he could!
