Taking in a long day

Oded took a deep breath, it had been a long week and now he was able to breathe. He walked down to a park wearing just a pair of jeans and a short pale green shirt. He was stressed and he had bandages covering his arms from working a week straight. He thought that fixing his parents cafe would take two days but the entire week was what that place really called for. He walked through the park to come to a bench that was facing a pond. Oded sat down putting his head in his hands, he was tired but couldn't sleep. He was sore from head to toe and everything in between, he couldn't believe how much damage there was in that old cafe. He made sure that he would never have to fix it again and he had to repaint all the walls because of the water damage. He was surprised there was no mold in the place, he found where the leak was and fixed it permanently. Oded sat back slowly so he didn't jar any part of his body, he wondered if he could find a massage therapist to get rid of the soreness.

Christy walked along the edge of a pond. She couldn't believe she was really back. This had been one of her favorite places to come to when she was away from Germany. One of the last places she had had a happy memory. Not even paying attention she sat down in front of a park bench and slowly took off her shoes and placed her feet in the water in front of her.

The cold felt good on her skin. It reminded her of the reality that the world had grown cold. What had her parents and Godric thought in over sheltering her for 17 years of her life? Had she let them baby her all those years? She pulled her hair down out of its pony tail and let her curls fall down to her waist.

Oded heard his phone ring and he groaned, as he pulled it out of his pocket. "Hello? Yeah this is Oded. How long has it been like that? I'll come look at it tomorrow afternoon, is one o' clock okay? alright good bye." He hung up the phone and groaned, he wished he didn't open up his own business. He sat back with his eyes closed, he wanted so much to have his soreness go away. Oded opened his eyes and looked at the pond but catching the woman in front of it. She looked familiar but he wasn't sure if it was the woman he knew from so long ago. He shook his head then ran his hand down his face sighing deeply.

Christy was pulled back to reality. That voice, was it really him? Why did she have to run into him again after all this time? Running her fingers through her hair she turned around staring at him in the face after the last few years. "Oded?" she said looking him directly in the eyes.

She felt like he had abandoned her when she needed him the most of all. After all she had been through she had to run into him. "Don't tell me I had to run into you now, but you couldn't even come and see me when I had to return home. You couldn't even send me a note letting me know you were still thinking about me. Did you care for me so little?"

She had to ask the hard questions. She felt that out of all the people he would have been there for her. She had grown since the last time they had seen each other. Gone was the childish look in her eyes. She had started to see the world for what it really was.

Oded looked at her and was shocked, "I sent you thousands of letter Christy, never once did you answer any of them." He looked at her his heart hurting more now then it did when he thought she left him. "Your family sent me a letter that i was never to write to you again. That you were married and very happy, that you were even planning to get pregnant. I was in love with you Christabelle, after i received that letter my heart broke in two. I thought that you had betrayed the love i had for you, the second you had left. I was going to visit you that day before you left for home but I got there too late."

Oded looked at her his eyes burning, but he refused to cry in front of her. He didn't want her to see how much agony he had been in since she was gone. He backed up shaking his head as he began to walk away from her.

She stood up and walked towards him, "I never received any letters you wrote." she replied looking him in the eyes. "And what marriage I'd like to know, my marriage as the mistress of magic in Germany? Because that's all I have done from the second I went home to find that my father had been murdered." She wondered if he knew how much her family had tried to shelter her over the years, then again he should as his family seemed to be close friends with them over the years.

"I had to deal with everything and the last thing I needed was to not have you by my side while all of this was going on." She wasn't going to refuse to cry. Try as she might she could feel the warm salty tears roll slowly down her face. All those emotions she had closed up about him came straight to the surface. "I've learned a lot about my family. I even tried to write you myself but if what you said is true, you would have never received it either. One thing I've learned is that my mother and Godric worked hard to over shelter me. And how was I rewarded for that? I was taken away from the only freedom I ever had in my life and away from the person I loved. Shoved into a cruel and unusual darkness. With my father gone, Godric was the head of the family and now he's disappeared and I haven't seen him in over two years. By now I'm sure he's dead too."

She walked up to him and put her hand on his arm and looked at him, "You have no idea what hell I've been in."

Oded stopped when she touched his arm, he looked at her in the eyes. "I'm sorry that I wasn't there for you. I wanted to be, I loved you so much that i would have traveled miles to be by your side. " He cupped her face with one of his hands, wiping her tears with the other. "I have not received any of your letter my love. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me Christy. Your still very much a part of me and you are still deep in my heart."

Oded's dropped away remembering that Vanessa was also in his life. He couldn't help but feel ashamed to have even forgotten. He didn't know how he felt about her but he knew that his heart is still in love with Christy. "I'm sorry you've been through hell, I'm sorry you lost Godric. You are my whole world Christabelle."

She could feel the reservation in his voice as he dropped his hand from her face. She had known him for years. Granted he was older than her but she had known him long enough to know something wasn't right. "What are you not telling me?" she asked looking at him. "You don't believe me do you?" she asked staring him in the eyes. It would make perfect sense to her. "If I'm your whole world then why did you say loved?" she asked backing away.

"Loved is the past tense of love, not the present. Meaning at one point you loved me but not anymore." She turned away from him wiping the tears from her face. "Not that I can blame you for it. I mean I did up and leave without notice really." She turned and faced him. "Who told you not to contact me anymore? I want the truth since no one has ever be actually able to give it to me these past few years."

She couldn't understand why her family had felt the need to over shelter her so much once her father died. She looked back and realized it hadn't just been then but also when she decided to come to Hogwarts. It wasn't because she had finished at Beauxbatons a year early, they would have never let her come all the way out here if Godric hadn't of been willing to leave Durmstrang...or should she say get expelled from there.

Oded felt hurt when she turned away from him but he knew that he couldn't hold it in anymore. He grabbed her around the waist and kissed her on the lips. His heart was pounding loudly but he couldn't help himself. He never wanted to lose her again as he broke the kiss. "I still love you, I will always love you. Never think that just because i used a word wrong that i don't love you anymore. I don't know who told me to not to contact you anymore, they had a weird name."

Christy's eyes widened as he grabbed her and kissed her. She quickly fell back into her old habits and her lips softened against his before he broke away. She could feel her heart beating in her throat as he spoke but she didn't know whether or not to believe it. She wanted to believe it more than anything else in the world. She wanted to believe that this man still loved her despite all that they had been through and being separated for so long.

"I want to believe it." she said looking at him, "In my heart I want to believe that you really do still love me but..." she broke off for a second looking down, "But my brain is telling me it can't possibly be true." She looked up at him and stood on her toes and kissed him, wrapping her arms around his neck, "Tell me I'm not dreaming and that its ok to feel again."
