Lunch Time

"I come from a family who loves it. My father played, my brother played, My mother played, as have I. I prefer watching over playing though." She rolled her eyes at his comment as she answered with a shrug. "And besides you don't look to pretty after when your covered and sweat and possibly blood. Plus its dangerous." she placed her elbow on the table and played with the ends of her hair twirling it around her finger, in a way she use to do so very often. She sighed and looked around. There was almost know one left in the Great Hall any more most having left to either go out side and enjoy the sun before it left for the night and the others going to study or goof off in the common rooms. Soon the two themselves would have to depart.

Nick looked and saw that almost nobody else was in the great hall. Soon they would have to go their separate ways, but Nick didn't want to. He wanted to stay and talk with her, he didn't know why but he had liked being around her. "Well maybe you could make equipment that is pretty" he suggested. "Maybe when I get a new broom we could fly sometime" Nick offered. Nick watched as the last set of people walked out of the great hall. They were all alone now in the room.

"It's starting to get late," Cecilia murmured her words hidden under a yawn. She didn't want to leave but soon she would have too. The healers had said that she needed to get more rest and though it seemed almost impossible she had to try for her children. She sighed and looked back up at Nick. "What to talk about now?" She asked giving him a slight sleepy smile as she wondered what he would choose to talk about. She brushed her hair out of her face and her eye lids drooped a little under the heaviness from being deprived of sleep for so long.

Nick saw that she looked really tired, he wanted to stay and talk with her but she needed rest, her babies needed rest. "You look really tired and we can talk tomorrow" he said. Nick looked out of the window at the quidditch practice that was going on, the person that they brought in to replace him was horrible. He had hoped that Cecilia would sleep easy and good tonight, free of nightmares. Nick took his finger and traced circles on the table. He did this when he liked a girl, but did he like Cecilia? He was unsure, just like he was with all of his emotions.

"It is to early for sleep," She told him not use to trying to go to sleep until the wee hours of the morning and then failing miserably. "Besides who knows if i'll even be able to sleep. I haven't gotten more that a few hours sleep since the accident that no one knows about." She watched as he looked out the window, "You miss it don't you?" She asked nodding toward the window, "Quidditch? You seem like you'd rather be out on the field than sitting in the crowd cheering them on."
Nick was sweet like Jake, Of whom she missed so much. She wondered why he had resigned from his position her at Hogwarts fearing it was because of her. She wish she knew what he was doing with his time now. She sighed and traced the lines on the table not sure what she was thinking half the time.

"You told me, so therefore you might sleep easier" he said. Nick watched as his replacement let the quarffile go through his hands and smack his head. "Yes I do, I was captain and the star player, now if I can get a broom I'm offered a bench spot" he told her. Nick's hand had touched Cecilia's and he pulled back nervously and quickly. "When I sit in the stands I point out almost all of the flaws and ruin it for people next to me, so now I just don't go" he admitted.

"Maybe," Cecilia said and watched out the window with him. "Maybe you could go to the next game and sit next to me? We could talk about how bad the equipment is, think of improvements." She gave him her suggestions and looked up giving him a look that said 'what do you think?' with one raised eyebrow. She felt safe at the moment inside Hogwarts with this boy who had been willing to go find Barker if she wouldn't have made him promise not to. Not even her family was brave enough, man enough, to even think of doing that. And she doubted the man her father had chosen for her to be betrothed to would have either.

"Sure, that sounds perfect" he said with a smile. "I'd do anything if it meant being with you" Nick added. Nick's cheeks turned red now, had he really just said that. He was at a loss of words now and just looked down at the ground. The silence just killed him, what would she say? "What is your family like? I know Elijah he came over once to visit my older brother" Nick asked just to break the silence.

"I does sound nice doesn't it," Cecilia replied with a warm smile and giggled as his cheeks change colors. "They are not that interesting. Your typical pure bloods, you know what I mean? Stuck up, Rich, only care for themselves. Sometimes I wonder if they even care for their family if they are only pretending waiting to see if there is any way to get ahead of my father, to gain power. There is a lot of them though." her hand had stopped moving along the lines in the wood and lay motionlessly on the table. "They are not that interesting. I'd rather head about yours."

"Well I am the youngest, I have two older brothers, one fell of of the face of the earth four months ago, the other has a family and a wife, I live with them during the summer. I have an older sister who I haven't talked to since her wedding five years ago. My mom died in childbirth when she delivered me, and my dad fell into depression soon after and then killed himself, leaving my brothers and sister to take care of me" he said. Nick hated talking about his family because then people always felt bad for him. "Why did you dad make an arranged marriage for you" he asked, hoping not to embarrass her.
