Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Lesson 2! - Page 3 Empty Re: Lesson 2!

Post by Marguerite de Lancret Wed Nov 21, 2012 8:33 pm

As the professor turned from Derry to continue his class, asking for further answers from the class, Marguerite slyly slid a piece of parchment into the Hufflepuff boy's lap. On it was written:

Lesson 2! - Page 3 Empty Re: Lesson 2!

Post by Anabelle Mulciber Wed Nov 21, 2012 9:13 pm

Hitamé took out her Transfiguration book and stared at one of the random pages she had opened up too as she tried to listen to what the others were talking about. She understood something about Conjuration and laws, then she heard food and life and she assumed it was the Gamp's Laws, or something at least close to it.

She didn't know much about them, but she could always try. And she had heard a thing or two about them as well. Hitamé raised her hand and said, "I believe that money is also one of those." she said, trying to sound certain. Which was a bit hard considering she wasn't even sure what they were talking about.

Post by Cecilie Montez Wed Nov 21, 2012 9:24 pm

Cecilie was sleeping there actually now, thank god noone didn't notice it. Hit's voice did wakr her up, she didn't get what she said actually. She also looked around her and didn't have no idea what was going on here. "Oh class started already," she thought and took book from her back and she looked at it. "What did you say before?" CeCe asked quietly from Hit and smiled.

Cecilie tried to get about what that class was but she didn't get. She just did put her back at the table but this time she didn't close her eyes. She tried to wake even if she would like to go and sleep right now.

Hitame looked at Cecilie shortly after answering the professor's question and she smiled at the other girl. "Nevermind. I think I'm pretty much caught up." she said lightly to the girl, though she really wasn't. It wouldn't be hard for her to catch up.

She probably should have paid attention to the fact that Cecilie wasn't exactly paying attention before she asked her anything. It was kind of rude to just wake someone up like that, even if they were supposed to be paying attention to someone else.

Lesson 2! - Page 3 Empty Re: Lesson 2!

Post by Alexander Kaverin Sat Nov 24, 2012 3:49 pm

Whether he was bored of having fun, Time passed quite quickly for Alex. Right now he was bored, he had been staring down at an unopened book for the entirety of the class. Really, you would have to be mad to enjoy transfiguration, and he was quite sure that some of his classmates did enjoy it. Eventually, Alex snapped out of his trance he noticed thirty minutes had passed already. He realized they were talking about Gamp's Law, which was pretty basic stuff. Neverthless, he guessed he should make some sort of contribution in the class.

"Love," he answered shortly.

Lesson 2! - Page 3 Empty Re: Lesson 2!

Post by Kingsley Shacklebolt Sun Nov 25, 2012 9:37 am

Kingsley noticed that the class was not so interested in this. Understandable, Gamp's Law wasn't the most fun part of Transfiguration. But it wasn't acceptable. Walking over, he tapped on the desk of Cecilie Montez. "Miss Montez, if you are sleepy, you can do so in detention during lunch break," Kingsley threatened. "Or you could avoid detention and wake up."

Resuming the lesson, he turned to Hitame and nodded. "Yes, money. Or to put it more correctly, wealth. When we conjure an object we create the basic, most common form of that object. In this way, we cannot conjure any sort of wealth. Money, high quality clothes or a home, are not conjurable. Good thing too, or our economy would fall apart… Or it might be a bad thing, considering many Wizarding families are unfairly rich," Kingsley added, his eyes slightly going over the Slytherin students.

To Kaverin's answer, Kingsley shook his head. "Good try, but Love falls under the third law. It is far to complex for us to understand... Which is why no potion or love charm has ever succeeded in actually creating love. The Fifth Law is actually information. You cannot conjure that which you do not know. I could create a copy of Hogwarts: a history right now, but since I don't know all the words, the copy would be incomplete."

"Anyway, thats the end of the lesson," he said, smiling at the students, who were obviously pleased that the lesson had ended twenty-thirty minutes early. "Conjuration is similar to transformation, so I'm sure you don't need me to teach you here. Nevertheless, I recommend that you study some conjuration spells and practice, because you will have an exam tomorrow." His smile widened as the looks of joy on the students faces turned to dismay. "Good day."
