Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

First Lesson Empty First Lesson

Post by Zerekiah Misericordia Fri Jan 07, 2011 4:26 am

It was with considerable excitement that Zerekiah walked into the Dark Arts room, " I did it" he whispered to himself exuberantly.

A student looked over him and smiled, very pleased. But Zerekiah did not pay attention to him and he continued to walk. His eyes glowing. " After all these years of striving and frustration, Ive finally succeed in holding this position."

He put his hand to the neckline of his extra large tuxedo and brushed at the black pants. A deathly hallow pendant and a pentacle jangled as he walked across the room to look up at the moving paintings with bewildered black eyes.

His brows were knitted and he looked as if he couldn't quite believe his eyes as he studied the portrait of the ugly old hag. " Its her...my ancestor, Cordelia Misericordia."

After a pause he beamed to his students and he strode up to the blackboard and wrote his name and some words.

DARK- the primary intention is to harm

GREY-the primary intention is to help, but there is an open possibility that harm will come out of it as a side effect.
Basically any influencing.
So called White magic is in this classification actually Grey.

WHITE-the primary intention is good and all spells are directed purely in that direction.
There is no harm done.

Then after that he stared at his students, he poured hot tea into his cup then he asked. "Do you believe in those statements?" pointing his wand at the words he wrote.

Post by James Wake Tue Jan 11, 2011 2:33 am

James Wake arrived, early as usual. But he never expected the room to be devoid of life. Usually, even the professor was there, waiting for his or her students. They had been through a list of Dark Arts Professors, if James recalled his classes correctly. Not that it truly mattered to him. Dark Arts was another assured A for him, as long as he didn't get too cocky in class. Just silently sit, take notes and ace quizzes. No harm done, no marks left. Just a quick and painless course.

The class slowly filled up, students taking their seats and awaiting the teacher. He finally entered, murmuring to himself and wrote some "definitions" 0n the board. James watched the teacher in insincere earnest, merely noting the teacher's actions and what he mumbled. Things about his past, James concluded. Finally, he asked for a confirmation of whether or not the definitions were true.

James raised his hand and answered;

"Sir, don't classifying magic as such lead to the misconceptions of 'light' and 'dark' magic? Wouldn't the proper mindset be that magic is magic, no matter what it's form?" James hated to be prudent about such things, but ideological statements concerning the nature of magic itself could hardly be considered true in any way shape or form. Dark was a convenient label placed upon magic to indicate the fine line between socially acceptable magics and everything else.

Xemnas had walked in the room,he had noticed that even with one person in the classroom the new teacher would still give out his assignment. He had came in just when he gave the question to the mature sixth year.He figured it was awfully bold of him to stand up and say his opinion to the proffesor, still unknowing he's personallity.Xemnas sat down wrote the notes that were held on the board,he did not want to say anything yet for he was too afraid if what he was thinking was correct or not.
