Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. On a Mission - Page 7 Empty Re: On a Mission

Post by Silvyr Svan Tue Oct 30, 2012 1:37 pm

The flames rolled on the ceiling of the book store Silvyr had run into blinding his sense of smell with the awful thick aroma of smoke. He sprinted through the long rows of bookshelves that filled the inside of the store. As he passed a row he caught a disturbing site from the corner of his eye. An elderly Witch was lying face down pinned to the ground by a wooden beam that had fallen from the ceiling.

Silvyr rushed to her side and transformed pulling his wand out as soon as he had regained the human form of his arm. "Wingardium Leviosa" he spoke firmly. The spell took effect instantly, lifting the beam off of the woman before Silvyr sent it flying back ten feet.

Silvyr knelt down and grabbed the woman's arm gently throwing it over his shoulder before lifting her up and moving slowly through the rows back to the front of the store. Hot ash and chunks of wood rained down on them as Silvyr used all of his might to keep moving while mostly smoke filled his lunges with each breath.

Finally after a few minutes he reached the door and exited the smoke filled shop. For the first time pure oxygen rushed through his mouth breathing life into his muscles. He walked into the middle of the road trying to get a safe enough distance from the shop while shouting out for help to James and the other order members that he saw.

Hearing Silvyr's cry, James turned to see the man supporting an elderly woman and trying to get her out of harm's way. James ran to the pair, and supported the woman's other side, helping Silvyr drag her a safe distance from the burning building.

"Sit down and relax for a bit," James suggested to Silvyr, "Let your lungs clear out for a minute."

James turned from Silvyr, looking for any nearby Healer.

"We need a Healer over here!" he yelled, fighting to be heard above all the other noises around Diagon Alley, "Needs treatment for burns and smoke inhalation!"

"What about you? Did you get hurt, Silvyr?" James asked, as he began to work on putting out the fire in the bookshop.

Jack had cleared out about a dozen or so bodies, and a few of the people standing around began to move closer. "Look through these bodies. Look for identification and- well, you heard James right?" They stared, drawing a sigh out of Jack. "The Potter boy." Recognition dawned on their faces and they tripped forward to help.

Jack turned around, spotting two of the people from the Order she trusted the most struggling amongst smoke and the weight of a body. James turned and began fighting off another outbreak of fire. Jack glanced at a Healer and whistled for them, pointing at the two men and the elderly woman. She quickly jogged over to James and Silvyr. The flames flared, heating her face and she raised her wand, pointing it at the stone roof. It slid forward, beginning to suffocate the flames.

"There's a few bodies left, but I think they're being taken care of," Jack informed James, glancing between him and her own work on the roof. Her eyes then fell on Silvyr. "You alright, mate?"

Silvyr listened to James and knelt next to where they had put the woman's unconscious body down at. The oxygen filling his lunges felt like it had contained invisible needles that were puncturing holes from the inside out. He involuntarily coughed for a few seconds while James took control of the situation.

By the time he had regained his breath Jack was standing beside him helping to put out with the fire. Silvyr looked up with a smile, "Never better. I made that smoke my ...Cough...." the air violently shot out of his throat over and over again.

When the coughing stopped Silvyr brought himself back to his feet, "I'm fine thanks." he said to James. Without another word he took off in a sprint transforming in mid air towards another burning building.

_____

From the corner of his eye he saw Leah dragging a wizard out of a smoking building as healers rushed to her and helped the man. She turned and Silvyr caught her eyes and Leah took off after him in a dead sprint.

Silvyr couldn't wait for her and he knew she would catch up. He entered the next burning building and looked around the dark shop for a second coming up with a plan. He took one step when suddenly the roof began to collapse. Before he knew it he was buried under hot smoldering wood. His body transfigured back to his human self and his screams came involuntarily, "Aghhhhhhh! Help!!". Silvyr knew that Leah was far behind him and he now feared only for her safety.
_____

Leah had started to enter the building Silvyr had just gone in when the ceiling collapsed. She back out just in time to avoid the debris and stood shocked while the air and smoke rushed past her body. Her basic primal instinct took over as she looked towards the sky and let out a loud, "Howl." One after another the long howls rolled from her throat sounding her masters need for help.

Silvyr didn't answer her, so Jack was about to insist he tag himself out, get a quick cleaning of his lungs, and then let him free to continue on, but before she could do that, he had taken off running. "Silvyr!" Jack sighed, looking at James. "Four minutes. If I'm not out, we're in trouble."

She turned, muttering, "Someone here has to cover their ass," before running after him. He had gotten quite the head start, and as she reached the house, there was a groan and the roof sunk. She could hear a strangled yell, so she began circling the building, looking for a way in. Jack heard a howl and knew Silvyr was in deep trouble.

She wheeled around, seeing a window. She shrugged off her sweater and wrapped it around her arm. She threw her fist through the window and it shattered. She shimmied inside, cutting up her torso and legs a tad, but she dropped within the house. A burning began in her throat, like a thirst, and her eyes dried in the heat. She could feel the heat around her. She yanked out her wand and stepped forward, picking her way throught the flames and debris.

She spotted Silvyr, trapped amongst the fallen roof. "REPARO!" Jack commanded the roof. It slowly began to lift, the spell fighting against the flames. The spell would weaken as the flames strengthened, so she dove forward, grabbing Silvyr's arm and shoulder and heaving him from the danger. "SIlvyr! Grab my arm!" she yelled, her throat cracking as it begged for water. "C'mon!" she said, attempting to apparate them out of there.

On a Mission - Page 7 Empty Re: On a Mission

Post by Sofie Elkin Wed Oct 31, 2012 6:33 pm

Sofie had been busy with her hostage, her purpose being to keep Nemo Omara company until they could transport him elsewhere. However, she had just left him in ruins, nearly, and thought she could take a quick break. Rumor had it that Diagon was burning, and she had some ideas to make the day more memorable.

She apparated to Diagon, in an alley. A Death Eater mask was fixed to her and she wore form fitting clothing, a cloak billowing around that. She was a blur of black, with no features that could be remembered. She didn't have much of a plan, but on seeing a line of wrapped sheets, she smiled. She poked her head out from the alley, aimed her wand, and flicked.

Every body burst into flames. Unless they were doused in the next few seconds, they would all be lost. Chances were, about half would be unrecognizable by the time someone got to them. She smiled, turned, and apparated.

The back of Silvyr's body was burning and he knew that blisters had to be forming around the burns making his pain much worse. He fought to stay conscious knowing that it would mean life or death for him. His wand was in his back pocket and his hands were pinned to the floor. It was now just a matter of time...

The pain all over his body began to slip away along with his thoughts. He feared for Leah but he knew she was a survivor. He tried to judge how long it would have taken for her to catch up with him and if she had been pinned under the roof too. Suddenly the weight began to lift off of his back and he took a deep breath trying to gauge his injuries. A couple of ribs were broken and he was sure one his lunges had collapsed in his chest.

Jack's familiar voice spoke out to him yelling for him to reach up. His mind didn't completely understand the simple command due to the lack of oxygen he had gotten in the past thirty seconds but he managed to flail his body off of the ground grabbing for her arm. The movement of his skin shocked him with another unbearable feeling of pain.

Silvyr flailed, and Jack grabbed his wrists, yanking them around her neck. "Grab your hand," she said, pressing his wrists together. "Hold on now." The ceiling above them was creaking. She could not risk him slipping mid-apparation, though. He could be left behind, wholly or partially.

His hands clasped around her neck, she worked an arm around his torso. "Alright! Hold tight!" She turned her feet, simultaneously leaping away as the rest of the ceiling collapsed.

She and Silvyr appeared midair, flinging onto the pavement next to James. Jack pushed herself up, coughing and expelling ash and smoke from her lungs. She released Silvyr and pushed herself up onto all fours.

That was when her eyes fell on the bodies. "SOMEONE!" she yelled, pointing as she collapsed again. "The bodies!"

The thirst had returned, stronger than before. "Water," she croaked. She shakily withdrew her wand and pointed it into her throat. "Aguamenti." The water trickled into her throat, but the thirst intensified. Suddenly, anger hit her, in an overwhelming force. Anger she couldn't place. She dropped her wand, shaking as pain and misery settled into her bones.

Nemo. He was being tortured somewhere. And she could feel it. This unknowable ability of hers was punishing her again. She shook madly, holding on to her wand like a lifeline.

On a Mission - Page 7 Empty Re: On a Mission

Post by James S. Potter Thu Nov 01, 2012 4:49 am

Before James had time to react, Silvyr was gone, and Jack after him. He resisted the urge to chase them down as well, knowing that he was no one's babysitter, and someone needed to stay with the injured woman.

James nearly had the flames out on the building when he heard a new whoosh of flames, and they were nearby. James turned to see what new building had caught on fire and he froze, horrified. All the bodies had been set fire to, and were burning at a rapid rate. Tearing himself away from the injured elderly woman, James tore towards the boy, shouting shielding and impeverious spells, which were likely already too late. Once he was close enough, he would begin dousing them with water. He prayed that the bodies would not be too badly charred. He couldn't believe that someone could be so heartless as to further mutilate those who had already punished with death.

Post by Silvyr Svan Thu Nov 01, 2012 6:37 pm

Throbbing stabbing pain was all Silvyr could feel while shouting filled his head. He closed his eyes and tried not to scream from the agony of laying on the blisters that covered the back of his body. His teeth were grit as he breathed through them harshly.

Two voices began speaking as they assessed his body speaking of his injuries. He looked up to see two people moving about him methodically not paying much attention to his facial expressions. He looked around in the chaos and saw Leah standing to his side. He turned his head and saw Jack laying next to him clearly in some form of pain and down the street he saw James running towards a new blazing fire in the middle of the road.

Silvyr grabbed Jack's arm gripping it tightly to get her attention. He spoke in a grunting tone, "Thanks." He was glad that she had come to aid so quickly.

He looked back up to the healers who were doing what they could in the situation. He spoke trying to get up, "I can handle the pain. Just get me back out there." he said determined to help in the situation.

Silvyr turned to Leah, "What are you doing standing around little one? I'll be alright. Go find more survivors." he said. She whined once before taking off towards James and the other Order Members.
